This last fight scene was what cemented this movie as a cult classic. It was on a budget with only a little Star power but it still manages to get me every time. The music, Sho-Nuff being a badass and chewing the scenery, Bruce Leroy managing to look outclassed at first and then serenely powerful . . . It’s one of the best of the 80s cult movies. And so many people love and remember this film!

Leroy’s glow covers his enter body representing wholeness: mind body and soul. True belief in oneself. Shonuff’s glow only covers his hands represent narrow sightedness, only focusing on power or in this case just body. Only possessing mastery over 1 of the 3 temples. Also noticed when Shonuff sees Leroy’s glow and begins to question his own power, his glow starts to short circuit. Shonuff mind realizes that he is not the master and body isn’t the only temple to focus on. Food for thought.

The Last Dragon" is a 1985 martial arts film that incorporates elements of fantasy, comedy, and music. While it is a work of fiction, we can explore some possible connections between the characters and Kabbalah's esoteric symbolism. It's important to note that interpretations can vary, and these connections are open to individual interpretation. Here's a deep dive into some key characters: Leroy Green (Bruce Leroy): Leroy Green is the protagonist of the film, a martial artist on a quest for self-discovery and enlightenment. In Kabbalah, Leroy can be seen as a representation of the spiritual seeker or "Tzadik" on a journey toward unity with the divine. His pursuit of the "Glow" can be interpreted as the search for spiritual illumination and the divine spark within himself. Sho'nuff (The Shogun of Harlem): Sho'nuff is the main antagonist, a flamboyant and ego-driven martial artist. In Kabbalistic terms, Sho'nuff can be seen as the embodiment of the "Yetzer Ra," the inclination towards ego, selfishness, and negativity. He represents the forces that challenge Leroy's spiritual growth and serve as obstacles on his path towards enlightenment. Laura Charles: Laura Charles is a television host and a love interest of Leroy. She represents the concept of the Divine Feminine, the Shekhinah in Kabbalah. She serves as a source of inspiration and guidance for Leroy on his spiritual journey, symbolizing the nurturing and supportive aspect of the divine presence. Eddie Arkadian: Eddie Arkadian is a sleazy music producer who seeks to control and manipulate the entertainment industry. He can be seen as a representation of the materialistic and ego-driven forces that hinder spiritual growth. In Kabbalistic terms, he embodies the aspect of the "Klipot," the shells or negative forces that veil and obstruct the divine light. Bruce Leroy's Family: Leroy's family, particularly his younger brother Richie, represents the importance of familial and community connections in spiritual growth. They provide support, love, and a sense of grounding, reminding Leroy of his roots and the importance of staying connected to his values and heritage. "The Last Dragon," the concept of the "Glow" plays a significant role. The Red Glow and the Blue Glow can be interpreted in relation to Kabbalistic symbolism as follows: Red Glow: The Red Glow represents the fiery and passionate aspect of spiritual energy. In Kabbalah, red is often associated with the sephirah of Gevurah, which represents strength, discipline, and judgment. The Red Glow can be seen as the awakening of the warrior spirit within Leroy, symbolizing his determination, perseverance, and the courage to face his fears and challenges. Blue Glow: The Blue Glow represents the calm and harmonious aspect of spiritual energy. In Kabbalah, blue is often associated with the sephirah of Chesed, which represents kindness, compassion, and love. The Blue Glow can be interpreted as Leroy's ability to tap into his inner peace, spiritual connectedness, and his capacity to extend compassion and understanding to others. The contrast between the Red Glow and the Blue Glow highlights the balance of opposing forces within Leroy and the need for equilibrium in his spiritual journey. The integration of the Red and Blue Glow signifies the harmonious blending of strength and compassion, discipline and love, creating a balanced and enlightened state. Ultimately, the journey towards the Golden Glow, the ultimate manifestation of the Glow, represents the attainment of spiritual enlightenment, the unification of all aspects of the self, and the realization of one's divine potential. It symbolizes the integration of the sephirot, the harmonious balance of spiritual energies, and the embodiment of higher consciousness.

Thing I loved about Sho-nuff is that he was a villian or rather a rival that made sense. He was not trying to take over the world, trying to steal the girl, or find some world destroying relic. He was a viscous an cruel fighter talented an well trained by how they showed him, but that felt himself lacking an wanting to be acknowledged so he seeks out people to boost his ego, but in Leroy Sho-nuff thru his own skill sees someone that if he acknowledged him as a master would make it true. Everything he does is to get Leroy to acknowledge him as a master to fill something he knows is lacking.
