Best tip I got on increasing my frog hook up ratio was try a smaller frog Went to a 1/2oz 2.25" from a 3" frog but much more importantly I discovered that my new frog I didn't know till I got my hands on it was made from very thin and very pliable but durable material noticeably much softer and pliable than any other frog I owned Just simply changing frog manufacturer and trimming the skirts increased my hook up rates from 40% to 70% I was absolutely astonished how literally first time fishing with this new frog I had nine bass blow up on my frog and I hooked and landed 7 Im sure being 1/2" smaller helped but no question in my mind whatsoever the material the frog body was made from being much softer and more pliable meant when a bass gets it in its mouth the body collapses with near 0 effort exposing the hooks and allowing in my experience a 30% increase in hooking bass from 40-70% average
