Roger Federer won a record 19 grass court titles: 10 at Halle, 8 at Wimbledon and 1 at Stuttgart. In this video we take a look at the story of Federer's last grass court title, which happened at Halle back in 2019. I put the best and most important points and shots from Federer's five matches at the tournament! I hope you enjoy this video, and please leave a like and a comment if you do :)

If he is a genius why did he wait for his opponent to make a mistake at MP in Wim 19 who is considered the greatest returner of all time and the best grass player bar himself. He thought Novak would rollover and give him the title His approach shot was horrible and didn't even stretch to get the volley. Federer thought he won the match and that was his biggest mistake

Last grass court title was in 2003 (first of his career). Since 2004 grass changed in green clay and it began the "London Garros". As pointed out by Roger himself who for 15 years has complained about new very slow surfaces, in particular the grass...the end of Serve & Volley, the end of Wimbledon what a sadness...

@@saladin3452 I honestly can't say that Roger (one of my favourites) is superior to Pete given that Roger won his first Slam on the old, fast courts at the age of 23 (Wimbledon 2003) and subsequently the other 100 on the new, slow and uniform surfaces. In the new tennis, the era of the big 4, he only had 5 or 6 other level opponents (the various clones Nadal, Djokovic, Murray...). Pete played in the most competitive era ever, on very fast surfaces, with at least 15 players of absolute talent and also with the "specialist factor" which completely changed the scenarios...and in just 13 years (of which more than 2 stopped due to injuries) won 14 Slams...an alien for me.

Maybe we have forgotten exactly how perfect Federer's greatness really was. I mean DJok is the goat now, and Rafa has all those French Open titles. I don't think there is a sane person alive who knows tennis that doesn't believe, although Rafa and Djok have more grand slams, that Federer was the most graceful smooth and enjoyable to watch play. Not to forget: Federer 19810808 was 37,6 then. And the following Wimbledon Final was something to reach. Nadal 19860603 now at 37,9 gave a less dominant impression in Rome and the win of RG would be a huge surprise, and Djokovic 19870522 at 37,0 all of a sudden seems to have lost his magic, too, although he has a marvellous physical appearance. I guess he will not reach the GS 25 (which after the US Open 2023 still looked so easy to be made by him); the field of others (Sinn/Medv/Alca) is too strong.

Don't forget that Federer reached Wimbledon Final after reaching French Open Semifinal too. We can be seen as picking an arbitrary age but it's pretty clear that while Federer had to contest with the younger Nadal & Djokovic at slams, there was a gap of 3 generations worth of players (15 years) who did not mount any consistent challenge to N&D in the GS events.
