It made me angry asf about the mc when I got to that part of the game, like I was smashing the buttons like crazy to try save trico asf but the mc is just a mfker weakling
Don’t call yourself that, feeling such a beautiful moment even when you are crying is a moment that you should cherish and feel very happy for and no one can judge you for that, because it is a part of who you are Ryne Green
Absolutely beautiful game.. This is the type of game that deserves to be known worldwide. I don't know a single thing that was wrong with it. Beautiful story, characters, and visuals. This has made me cry so many times, and to see both protagonists grow up at the end was a beautiful touch, and to not have them die was even more amazing. If there's anything I want in a game, it's what this game has given to us. Thank you
I think the reason I love this game so much, is because it essentially reminds me of my favorite childhood movie, which is the iron giant. That said, I still don't have any concrete ideas as to what the hell is going on, even after finishing it
That's the beauty of Fumito Ueda's games. Once they grab onto you, they never let go. And you feel so satisfied after finishing one of his games. Even though you aren't given many answers as to what you just experienced.
Kyle Clark So true bro, so true. I was tearing up when they found the mirror, then when I saw Trico's eyes I almost broke. Then when the little Trico's eyes came up next to him I lost it and finally cried.
I cried at the end.The amount of music and detail to this game is...amazing.This game is a peice of art.Even if it's not a painting..it's still a history that..holds something...so emotional and amazing within it self.A massage...and meaning.Something..that i think..only those who play it...might see.
i cried so much at the others attacking the good trico and after all that he flew just to take him home...ive never cried so much over a game. I never want it to end.. :'(
Sorry but someone has to do it. My score 98/100 This game exceeded the expectation with the architecture, the game designing and the story. People put too high their expectations dropping what they have in front of them. The concept, architecture, the ruins and the city are a project that requires long hours of design, 3d modelling, programming and coordination. The hard design of puzzles delivered. The mechanics, far from being perfect, delivered. The minor camera corrections, and some glitches can be fixed. Even in the current state the game is a tour the force on game scripting, design and cinematography. The last Guardian keeps the tradition of the other games designed by this company. The delivery is well executed despite the long awaited time. Valve will never release Half Life 3 because many expect too much. The game will end being judged by self entitled players who thinks they are better designers than the designers who makes this for a living. Rarely you see a game of this stature who confronts the player into a series of puzzles, establish an emotional link to a chimera and tell a deep tale about friendship. Rarely you see games attempting dual game play interaction between scripting and sand box roaming. This game does it exceptionally well. The Last Guardian established a standard of adventure games despite the minor technical issues. The music will prevail for decades. The game will mature and become an old gem like Shadows of the Colossus. Many of these self entitled individuals will throw dirt into this work of art. They do not comprehend the difficulty of design over this game. The scenes are too complex, compounded and dynamic. Many will learn to appreciate this when they grow more hair in their chest. When these kids grows older, this game will reverberate in their hearts. They will fully understand how difficult is to design a game of this caliber. KUDOS to ICO.
I feel like tlg is one of those games that will gradually receive more appreciation as time goes by, and people reflect on the experience of the game, realizing the aspects that truly defined it.
gallade312, You could listen to that person who calls the game shit, or you could listen to me when I say it's the opposite of shit and my favorite game of all time... Or you could just play the game yourself and form an opinion of your own. That's usually the best way to do it, if you're able.
i just watched this part, and let me tell that you can actually feel the bond between trico and the kid, even if i didn't mnged to see all the way of the relationship, in the after credi scene, it kinda maked me want to cry
The boy told Trico to leave because he knew Trico was too weak to stay & fight against the villagers. The boy saved Trico's life by telling him to leave. You can't blame the boys tribe for wanting to kill these animals. After all, they do eat humans to survive. We all fell in love with Trico. But, had lightning not struck Trico when it did, the boy would have become Trico's next meal. What an emotional rollercoaster this game was. 10/10 from me. lol
No they couldn't have. Trico was still eating humans every time the boy tossed him a barrel. Maybe Trico felt a spiritual connection with the boy when he saw that the boy was trying to help him at the beginning of the game. But if the villagers let Trico stay there, Trico would have had no choice but to sneak into houses at night & eat a human or two. It's the nature of that species. They live on humans.
I don't think Trico eats human. If the Trico species naturally eat humans, why would they need a weird machine to turn human kids into barrels? Why could they not just swallow and let the digestive system do the rest? IMO, Trico can't eat human so the machine has to process the meat to be suitable for them , or the barrels is just rewarding for kidnaping children. Also, we see Trico ate the boy multiple times in the game, both accidentally and intentionally, but it could not disgorge and always vomited him out.
it is though. I think it's better than ICO and that one was a masterpiece too. Many of the minority giving it low scores hated Shadow of The Colossus too.
Okay, I have a few theories, and I'm not going to claim that any of them are right, just possibilities. It seems that long ago there was this advanced civilization, and the fuel for it's advancement was the souls of living people. These souls powered technology, and gave life to the golems, which served as a defense mechanism for the city. The tricos were encased in armor that made them easier to control, along with the literal control tower with the weird ball of energy in it. The trico's went around collecting people to put into the tower, and the waste created from processing was used to feed the tricos. I don't really know what to make of the weird energy ball. Perhaps it was an even older form of magic that these people found and built a society around it. For one reason or another this place was abandoned by people. Maybe they saw the error of their ways, or there was an uprising, or the energy ball took complete control of the tricos and they were all sacrificed. I honestly think the last one makes the most sense because I don't know how anyone could get in or out of there without a trico. So everyone's gone, but the tower, the weird ball, the tricos, and the golems remain. Because the tower is still active, and it doesn't have an ON/OFF switch, the tricos are still being controlled and still seek out souls to feed the weird ball, what was once used as an energy source by the people who lived there. I think it's very interesting that it seems like tricos can't fly on their own. When our trico lost his armor, he lost his ability to fly, and when the control tower was destroyed, all the other tricos lost it, too. But our trico regained his flight out of a desire to save someone else. It seems like tricos need some kind of inspiration, or special bond or a means of being controlled in order to fly. It makes me wonder if they were "designed" rather than evolved.
I was so engrossed in this ending that I actually jumped when I felt tears fall onto my cheeks. Damn, Jack is going to weep when he sees this. It was beautiful and bittersweet D;
I had my German Shepherd next to me and I went over to hug him. I don't know if it's the music or cinematography but I was fighting hard to keep the tears in. I'm far from an emotional person and I never even played the game, but something about this ending was determined to get the water works going
Sad as it is, Trico will end up being like the other Tricos, as you can see after he nudged the kid to his father. He will end up eating kids endlessly, so him flying away is the only option for him to save the kid.
My favorite game ever made ( the last guardian ). I love ❤️ this game so such, this is the first game that made me cry at the end, thank you everyone thank you Fumito Ueda.
I hope...I just hope that Fumito Ueda makes another game. 1st ICO 2nd Shadow of the colossus 3rd The Last Guardian, lets together hope there will be a 4th game
Dormin Team Ico recently put some teasers out for their next game, people have stated its called "The Girl and the Sleeping Giant" so look forward to that! And I couldn't agree more. This game is a masterful piece of work despite its flaws.
I hope there will be a last guardian 2 coming And if the maker WAS making the next one, it would take a very long time to make just like this one But I really do hope they make another one or something like this cuz I just love it Haven't played it yet but by watching these vids on RU-vid here, it looks AMAZING! So much awesome details on the buildings, everything really lol Idk who the maker is, sooo whoever is the maker he's cool he's awesome he or she I don't know, I love him for making this lovely game
"The character we've tried to bond you to during this entire playthrough is being viciously torn apart! Care to take a ride that adds literally nothing to your experience other than cheap stress? Cool, now time to flail around like a drunk person with the remains of your friend!"
The player interactions and mechanics that can only be experienced through its medium as a video game are what made it so impactful. It wouldn't translate at all into film, even if it managed to get an amazing team behind it. (Which it wouldn't.)
It's children... For whatever reason... It's naked children... Yet the main character retained his clothes probably because he wasn't in Trico long enough... but yeah. heehee! Just pointing out the obvious! X) So they feed them to that statue and it coughs out some barrels the Tricos eat... Creepy...
This species eats humans. But they can't digest the bones & stuff. So they swallow humans whole & take them to that machine where the bodies are turned into liquid & then stored in those barrels.
Sacrificing children for energy resources. That's a little disturbing when you think about it. That was more or less what happened in ico though, only that in ico, they were sacrificed to rid spirits
To me visually the children look more if the same essence of the master of the valley so I'd assume they are absorbed into it. while the master gives that glow energy magic in exchange for the sacrifices. The barrels looks more similar to the magic then the sacrifices but that's just my theory.
Nobody Well if you look when the other griffin regurgitate the kids in their stomach, they are cover in that light blue goo after a moment, a barrel shoots out with that goo that the kid feeds to Trico in order for her to use the lightning in her tail. So that's when I thought that Trico has been eating the kids who are covered in those mysterious tattoos that harness power in order to get energy for the lightning.
Katlyn C-M I think the children are fuel for the Master of the Valley, and those barrels are kind of "rewards". I'm not 100% sure but it's what seems most plausible to me.
