The czar was a weak man and never cared about his people. He was detached from whT was going on. He could of prevented every thing that happened. Instead , he was more concerned about his own comfort. It cost his family their lives. He is responsible
I’m devastated and have continuously been devastated when I read the story of the Romanovs and what happened to them ! Horribly sad I shed tears every single time for this family ! It never should have ever happened . Bolshevik hatred ... just atrocious may those who killed these beautiful people rot in hell forever and eternity !
Truly a sad and tragic ending for the Romanovs. I was so surprised to see that so much of their lives were preserved for us to know. My grandparents were born in Russian and emigrated to Canada about 1901. I wonder what went through their minds on receiving the news of the Czar and his entire family had been assassinated.
My heart carries sadness for the children that did not get grow up and have lived their lives. King George V must have felt terribly guilty when he learned of the murder of the family. Just glad I have been able to learn all I can about them. I love them.
Oh there are so many lies regarding the Romanovs and what happened and is happening. I believe it is time the world gets a few things clear. Nicholas II has descendants as they were not massacred as the narrative goes. Maria Feodorovna knew this as well.. Michael Romanov wasn't removed and killed in Perm either.
There was never any prospect of the Revolutionaries permitting the Imperial Family to leave Russia. By good chance, the Dowager Empress Marie was on holiday in the Crimea when the Revolution broke out. She sought refuge on a British destroyer and was able to travel safely to Denmark, where she was given a wing of the Palace by her brother, the King. If the rest of the Imperial Family had been in the Crimea with her and had asked for safe conduct to, for example, Switzerland, then I am sure that the Captain of the British destroyer would have been prepared to assist.
As an American, I so love this family and I'm glad to be alive in an era to know these remarkable beings so well in photos, video, etc. I dare not think it, but, just what if the Bolsheviks had destroyed all that was left of the Romanovs? I am somewhat SURPRISED that they kept so many artifacts for us to see over 100 years later. Although they preserved memories of the family, I don't think that they thought that scientist would find their remains and give them a proper burial. They murdered the Romanovs and hid their bodies for the sole reason that they did NOT want them to be canonized as saints . But, it happened anyway...despite their evil actions. LONG LIVE THE ROMANOVS!
+Despina Xenoulis the communist regim lifted Russian economy ....in during of tsar Russia was in big poverty ....Romanovs family lived in prosperity and risip bur russian people even no bread ..!What to do ?To keep this parasities in life ?? is to much money . sorry about kids ..The children maybe can to taiken the state ..for good education but they ready in her head no more ....think about work . was going tramps because does not had idea about work and who do not work not respect the work !
Russia under comunist regime started to progres and working class started to prosper even if does not was too richh but evrybody bouht a house or apartaments under socialism regim but under tsar people die about hungry !So ..
God, do help us save the Romanovs and restore the Tsardom of Russia from your very own glory and honor. Not just for Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia's sake... but also to show your love for the people of those nations. Amen!
Very poignant and moving...whatever one thought of Nicholas as a 'Tsar/leader', and one could debate these points until the cows came home...I feel as a human being he was caught between a rock and an ice age, so to speak. He always struck me, through photos and film reels that he had dreamers' eyes and a simple view of the world, so completely at odds to what he was expected to be by a sophisticated, corrupted elite he was born into. I think if he had been banished to eastern Russia as a 'nobody' along with his son and daughters and wife, been made to work hard as a farmer or whatever, he could have been perfectly happy with that. But of course, as long as he had heirs, they would be pawns their entire lifetimes. Victims of circumstance, I guess, and they paid a terrible terrible price.
I agree fully with your comment. Such a beautiful family they were. He struck me as a kind man in many ways. Though ignorant to what was going on around him. I also believe that he would have been happy as a farmer living a simple life and being left alone.
it may seem like a " riches to rags " story , but in fact in terms of personal development and awareness, it was the other way round, especially for the Tsarina. They were a very modern family, and Nicholas very hands on, way before his time. By the end Alexandra realised that family was all that really mattered. the others were already there, but it was sadly too late..A look at the letters they sent each other and the children shows how they really were. They remained devoted and besotted with each other all those years, and thats inspiring. Not many can say that today..
Really beautiful ! You show them as something in the past , which they are , but also they live in the now, in our hearts . And you have captured and expressed those two realities. 5 stars!
17th of July to day is an awful day.today I remember the Russian royal family.God bless you .Nicky and Alix.Olga Tatiana Maria Anastasia and Alexis.and the the four faith full servants who stayed loyal and shared the same awful end.God bless them also rest in peace.till the resurrection.
I read the book: The Passion of Marie Romanov. It tells what happens from the moment the lights went off in the palace indicating that something was wrong, to the night they were killed. After I read the book, I was in a state of distress for weeks. Terrible what they had to go through, before their death! I read it twice. Sad, but fascinating!!!
emslas thank you. ever since i was a teenager, i had a deep crush toward princess Maria, not only cos she was the most beautiful woman to me, but her looking at her eyes tell me she was a very sweet person. something I've been looking for all my life. I've had 2 ex wives, but could not find that in them, maybe its just me......anyway cheers to our good health.
Such a beautiful family fallen victim of heinous , bloodthirsty, cynical Bolsheviks. I read about the fate of the tsarevitch when I was 14, the age of his death. To this day ( I m 65 now) I feel the exact same emotion and sadness
touching tribute. if you look into the circumstances of this period you'll find many many things indirectly contributed to this tragedy not the least of which I'll never fathom why the emperor ultimately did not barter his abdication consent for the safety of his immediate family. there comes a time to do the right thing and he was in such denial and being rather weak willed would not allow himself to view reality that was rapidly closing in around him and the concept of autocracy.
I feel sorry for them for the way they were murdered especially the children. The parents made some stupid mistakes and refused to face certain truths about their country and got themselves killed from it. All of the secrecy in the czarevich Hemophilia ended up being a waste of time they should have been open with it from the get go. Nothing can be done now it's the past. 2 years will be 100 years of their execution. Sad sad. But I believe they all are in heaven and the worries of the past are no more for them so there is comfort in knowing that!
That would have been a very hard thing to be open about when image was everything and it couldn't look like the future Emperor couldn't perform his duties. People were very ignorant then and would say it was weakness or some failing on the part of the parents. For example, look at the German Emperor with his bad arm and how that had to be concealed.
paige, you have no idea if they are in heaven. Maybe they had to endure the hardship in order to be humble and get to heaven but they lived high on the hog before while people who fed them starved.
Most people on Earth WANT PEACE! Those that do not, are the governments worldwide; who wish to divide, conquer, destroy and CONTROL. LONG.LIVE.ROMANOV.FAMILY!
@@marcinbelka1868 How can you be so cruel ?Sincerely you really need some help ! This angels were innocent ,they have nothing to do with their parents decisions .Hope you spend your day filling your heart with good things so that your heart will spread love instead of hate .
@@evabragha9100 These children would be murderers in the future. They came from a family of criminals, so they had it in their blood. They would be murdered sooner or later anyway, because people were fed up with constant terror and hunger. It was better for me earlier, saving thousands of people from death.
@@marcinbelka1868 What nonsense with your logic, you also have the characteristics of a murderer, wishing death on innocent children the Romanovs were not criminals, and if you think they were, the oppressive regimes that came after them were no better
Russia still searching for its lost greatness among the ghosts of the shining Romanovs .... Never forget what was done to them, or to French royals after 1789 ...
Hi everyone! Nicholas II Spicer, of Roman, lived a long life. They escaped to London then the USA for a long time so I was born here and am now Czar and The Holy Roman Emperor and all my titles came to me from Nicholas II Spicer 55 years ago when I was 12. My grandson will hold them next. The Russian Empire has always existed. Thank you
I’m remember this family with many lovely the Russia imperial family live your life they was happy ! Sorry if my English not perfect my lenguaje is Spanish
Just as our American Movie, Gone with the Wind reveals truths about our old South, this beautiful period in Russia is Gone with the Wind. it is so horrible that the King of England refused to rescue his cousin.
But that might be wrong too. So we can't trust the reporters of that night too much, cause they may be wrong and we will never know what exactly did happened. Let just hope they rest in peace, and at least many people seems to have moved on from the past and the all of the family have been found and we know now that they did indeed die and they have had they're burial (except for Alexi and Maria, why i don't get!) And they will never be forgotten :)
While there is, of course, great sympathy for the tragic end of the Imperial Family, they did bring it upon themselves. The Czar left St. Petersburg and permitted his wife to run the country. She effectively appointed Rasputin as her chief adviser and, on his advice, dismissed most of the competent Ministers. Rasputin, naturally enough, advised her to appoint only those who were not opposed to him - men of the very lowest ability and morality. The Revolution broke out because simple logistics were not followed. Rolling stock was diverted to the front, so that food from the provinces did not reach the cities. The resulting starvation was the trigger for the Revolution. If the country had been properly governed, there would have been no Revolution.
There are quite a few "Romanov cousins" David, shown to be so via mitochondrial DNA testing. Their 'haplo group' is T2 and that group is 30,000 years old and originated from the area of the "holy land". It would be difficult if not impossible to settle out who was related to whom, but there are many Romanov relatives. I believe they are drawn to this 'last' family through their hearts...it is wonderful that you know who some of yours are.
Then, this is the book you have to read, since it was her, who wrote the diary. In my opinion, anybody who have been interested in the death of the Romanovs should read this so interesting book.
Sorry but you must have heard a wrong or false report then. Can't say what exactly how it happened but at least every documentry and pages and books i read does say that the tsar and the tsarina was died first,it even have become a new story of how it happened because of diary's from the ones who killed them.Tough Alexi did go trough sort of long and painful death cause of the diamonds the tsarina had sewn inside he's clothes. The ones who were there almost got mad because of all the killing.
My cousin Victoria, Vicki, looks like Tatianna Romanov. We share DNA with the royal families of Europe through Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth's great great grandmother. I cry when I think of their fate.
romanov collapse was the initial step of breakdown Tzardom Russia(which means to fall of entire Orthodox church). Then temporary jewish soviet government. After elaborate battle, Joseph Stalin reform soviet union from complete breakdown. After end of his regime, it resume mission to destroy orthodox church completely. In this regard, breakdown of soviet union. If romanov dynasty exist now, then never breakdown of orthodox church, and of massive Russia.
You seem like a nice person,so i am going to lay out the facts as i know them respectfully. The very fact that Yekaterinburg was renamed Sverdlovsk,in honor of Sverdlov tells us that this Jewish Khazar beast was the prime mover in the horrendous murders of these darling children and their parents.Yurovsky, another Jewish Khazar shot the Prince several times as he lay on the floor, after he was bayoneted repeatedly before hand, this is the testimony of Pavel Medvedev,a member of the death squad.
@@eifionjones559 It was not the fault of these children that they were born into a royal family. The Tsar and Tsarina were bad rulers, but it is hard to compare the people they killed to the millions of victims of the communists and Bolsheviks who came to power after the revolution. Honestly speaking, I don't like parents very much and I think they fully deserved what happened to them, but I will never consider it fair to kill innocent children just because of their birth. I feel sorry for them, and I don't think I'm wasting my tears because of them. I cry in the same way for all suffering and unjustly treated children. Both for those who were hungry during the reign of the tsar, because the country was hungry and war, and for those killed by the communists during the great famine in Ukraine. But I also cry for the Romanov children, because they too were wronged and treated unfairly by fate. Even when during the war and poverty in the country they had everything and other children had nothing, it's not their fault. They were not responsible for the decisions and mistakes of their parents. Perhaps in the future, these children would be tyrants exploiting and oppressing their people, or perhaps they would be good and empathetic rulers. I don't know it and you don't know it either because these kids never had a chance to grow up. I consider it a great injustice that someone took their chance and brutally murdered them only because of the mistakes of their parents and the name Romanov. I've read a lot about these kids, and believe me, they really weren't monsters. They were normal children who, like their peers, had their own dreams, plans and interests. They were full of empathy, compassion and kindness. It is a pity, it is a real pity that such a terrible end to their short life has met them. Because I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want anyone to murder my children just because of the mistakes I made.
In my opinion, if your an avid reader of the family stay well away from fiction/romanticised versions that are too often utilised in books regarding the family and their fate. Stick to the facts as much as you can to avoid confusion and ridiculously elaborated theories and stories. My personal favourites are, 'Ekaterinburg: The Last Days of the Romanovs' - Helen Rappaport 'Four Sisters' - Helen Rappaport 'The Romanovs: The Final Chapter' - Robert K. Massie 'The Camera and the Tsars' - Charlotte Zeepvat and 'Romanov Autumn' - Charlotte Zeepvat
I see that you are aware of the worse famines after the revolutions, so bad that they posted posters urging people to not practice cannibalism, and Russia initiated strict censorship to hide it until 1990 when freedoms came along.
