Props to Jared Leto and his band for making Hot Pursuit 2010 having one of the most recognized NFS soundtrack since MW's Nine Thou. I still think of the badass Lamborghini cop from the trailer every time I listen to it.

Btw, there is a huge misconception in the arcade racing community about countersteering. You dont have to countersteer "by hand" in real life either. The car does it for you, it's called self-steer and as soon as you let the wheel go it will align to the direction of travel. You only have to catch it at the right moment and actually turn into the corner, not the opposite direction.

You forgot to talk about another thing that made the game better for me atleast The soundtrack Right at the opening you get greeted with one of the greatest songs i have ever heard,then in the middle of the chase you get that dramatic song that fits a lot the chaos of online chases

Easily the best NFS of the last decade, and one of the best NFS titles of all time

The only thing missing was the possibility to customize the races and the only thing missing was the possibility to add bots to the matches

To add to all of this, if you are playing the original PS3 version you can even completely customise the soundtrack with songs you put on the PS3's hard drive. You want "Born to be wild" in an NFS game? Go for it. It's a feature that i miss in most modern titles.

I still don’t get, why the hell Rivals is “cancer” especially when it has most of HP good features + its own like more detailed open world, the most intense cop/racer fighting ever

In my honest Opinion, I think Hot Pursuit is the most NFS-ish game in the franchise. The game is basically like the incarnation of the title "Need for Speed". And Rivals also felt like a different take from the standard NFS Formula since it's gameplay is mostly true to the HP Style.

this game and underground 2 were my first contact with racing, and i loved it, i was like 7 and could do a straight line, but man, the sounds and visuals, my dad buyed a wheel gaming with pedals and hanbrake, i could even reach the pedals and nedeed a small well under it to reach, even the fact that i could end the first race, but repeat it over and over, like the airport, i knew every corner of it, and it was worth it, every single second, there were good times.

Perhaps the reasons to buy the remastered are when you had the original 2010 version is if that version you had was only for the PC, which didn't have the DLC cars and there's crossplay multiplayer.

I think it has been a staple formula for NFS to put traffic on the racing line, bc it's easy and give the players some challenge. IMO they put some experience player during alpha to drive certain levels on the game, analyze their racing line and put traffic there

I have finished 2012 and Hot Pursuit. I just can't decide which is better. I like them both. When you master driving in 2012, you just enjoy it. But Hot Pursuit is intense every moment. So yea, Hot Pursuit is then better xd

4:42 I heard this so many times when it comes to criterion nfs games, I never had any input lag, and the physics feel great. i dont understand why anyone would like a racing game when the physics feel awful yet you're here talking about how good hot pursuit is. the wheel turns by itself bc it take the slip angle, basically think of it as stability control, I can replicate this effect in my own physics model with enough tweaking, it doesnt feel artificial and is extremely casual friendly, kinda ingenious.

Gotta say this, but this review was hella fun to watch yet everything you said is absolutely right, you won my sub, hope your channel grows up more because this is good shit.

1:07 most wanted was a return to the style of NFS 3 but with some modernisations and the story mode from underground integrated. I replayed it recently and i'll tell you what, it's not as good as i remember but nothing is actually as good as you remember. Although it was the first game that made my dad come up and tell me to turn it down. No regrets. A fully modified Porsche Carrera GT with the 5.1 speakers up full blast, revving the engine off the limiter in neutral was definitely a life experience for me.

And you didn’t even mention the online aspect of this game, which is arguably the best feature and why they made a remaster (the old servers were not online). Battling actual people in a police vs racer situation is awesome.

We’re never gonna get those old games remastered because of licensing. But IMO Criterion should do the Hot Pursuit series every 4-5 years and another developer should do the usual NFS we’ve been getting lately

I played this to 100% steam achievement and it was a blast (execpt the slow porsche multiplayer achievement). I personally think that the 2010 version still seems to be great and a remaster was kinda unnecessary. It's worth buying if you have not played it back in 2010.

Im slightly disappointed this review didnt cover the awesome online multiplayer of hot pursuit, which is prob the best multiplayer of every nfs in existence. Esp when remaster has dlc and crossplay enabled.

I love HP 2010 and its remaster, it's hella lot of fun. But I believe they should remake their most iconic games like MW. Yup, remake, to make graphics look like 2023 but with keeping driving mechanics. They might add more tuning parts, more cars from that era. Or do what Activision did with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, same thign with NSF Underground games.

NFS Hot Pursuit and Rivals are the most exciting late NFS title after Hot Pursuit 2. The gameplay is smooth and has challenging mechanics without being too much on concentration. My main gripe is the gameplay is scripted making it is bored easily after playing it hundreds of hours in single player only. NFS Rivals has similar gameplay as NFS Hot Pursuit, albeit with unscripted gameplay but has technical issues.

Both the turbo & the NOS are pointless in 2010 HP because the rubberbanded cops will catch up anyway

around 4:50 hes saying something about how you never know what your car is gonna do. GET GOOD i never had any trouble with it and i finished it both on the switch and the steamdeck. i still think this game has the best controls of EVERY need for speed game so far.

It'd be awesome if EA added new cars to the game like the C8 Corvette or something like the Muira (hey, they gave us older stuff in DLC like the 959), but considering its, well, EA, they'd find some way to make that god awful.

You placed nfs rivals in the wrong category here. That game had barebones customization for racers and otherwise was a super powered demolition derby with racing placements slapped on. Freakishly underrated.

I got much goosebumps playing this rather than Unbound. I like seriously, how does a game has such a good turbo sound? Plus the physics to me were decent to me, it was hard to make use of it first but got used to it. And if you think the physics are trash in nfs games, go and play sim racing games. This isn’t your average “sim racing game”. Sure other nfs had good physics of driving but still we need to know it’s a arcade game.

I like Hot Pursuit, but I'm not a fan of the game after finishing it. You just repeat tracks over and over, which can be fun but overtime, it's going to be a game where you pick it up to pass a time and move on. Free roam isn't viable as it's just you, and the open road, not risk but atleast it's zen for players who had ptsd from roaming and idle cop cars from the hp missions and from the old nfs games. Sure the main selling point is the races and pursuit missions of the main map, but sometimes I like to infinitely chase or outrun cops at times without route constraints. Then I saw some yt vid about Rivals and that was it. A game that's part underground due to the customization and mostly hot pursuit. Rivals is a game where you can be a racer and a cop while A.I drivers and cops roam around and both of them are in the same instance so, there's going to be a moment where you're a undercover, enjoying the scenery then you see a racer running away from a A.I cop and it's just nice (idk if this is right but I did see a police chase as a undercover unit on rivals and just tagged along on free roam). It was just plagued with issues and rushed development that it's quite of a buggy mess. I'm still waiting for the NFS Rivals that's not rushed and decently cared for by criterion and ghost. Maybe a hot pursuit where you can enjoy free roam as a cop or racer along other A.I racers and cops so that the replayability can be decent? Maybe my takes are trash in the end because I grew up playing rally games when I was 7-8 while seeing most wanted during those times and the concept of undercover is like a whole new can of worms to me when I was a teenager.

Are you really trying to say almost every Need for Speed game is the same as Most Wanted 05? I would agree if you said the last few Need for Speed games have felt the same since NFS 2015. However, your video showed The Run, Prostreet, Most Wanted 2012, Undercover as having the same formula as Most Wanted 2005, which is just straight up wrong. Even saying Prostreet is the same game as Most Wanted 2005 is straight up laughable and gets rid of all your credibility, as Prostreet is a game that focuses on closed track racing with no police at all. Even if we ignore all that, a lot of the features that you praised HP2010 for are present in a lot of NFS games and didn't convince me that it was unique. You liked the fact the game has time trials, good sounds, good visuals, attention to detail with the road textures, and a good handling model, when a lot of NFS games have all these features too in their own respect. I also don't get why you like to bash NFS Rivals a lot?? I agree it wasn't the best, but it's basically just the same thing as NFS HP 2010. Not sure how you're trying to say how it's in any way similar to MW 2005, when I'm pretty sure Rivals had no customization as well, had the same cop vs racer dynamic where you can play both sides, and you had weapons to use mid-race. Overall, this video was absolutely baffling to watch and honestly felt like you had nostalgia cloud your vision for this game. While I agree it is a pretty good NFS game for what it is, the arguments you gave were very weak. There are so many NFS games that are different from MW 2005 after its release.

Honestly, the remaster looks worse than the original, at least on PC. I mean look at the racer and cop garages in the original, they have like more details. I absolutely love the original and I'm thankful that I got the remaster for free, because I'm not spending $30 on a cross-play DLC for a 13 years old game :D

hot pursuit remastered - pros- refined visuals DLC cars which were exclusive to original on consoles (fuck you EA) livery editor (carried over from ghost era games) cons no mercedes-mclaren cars and carbon motors E7 (E7 makes kinda sense but not merc-mac) livery editor (it would have been fine with a custom colour system) new garage for racers (old hangar was better) $40 price tag also, equating rivals as other NFS titles isnt right when it was just evolved NFS hot pursuit with a more open world setting
