If he thought that NO ONE under such and such age cared about this, it's too bad he couldn't see all the RU-vid "reactors" who love TWILIGHT ZONE. MOST of them are probably under the age he's talking about.
Even though Grady's jockey career is over, he could still have potential as a basketball player. Another memorable milestone in Mickey Rooney's 88 year career, Rest in Peace.
WE ARE SO BACK! This is the only reason I remained subbed to Channel Awesome, please continue featuring Walter in more of these synopsis. Walter if you are reading this, please consider doing the original the Outer Limits for next October!
I am not ready to see this series end man, the Twilight Zone is a mysterious show I've always loved when it comes to October. Thank you so much for the series and reviews ❤
1:28 that's where I first saw Mickey Rooney and it was a part of my childhood and what got me into the phantom of the Opera I also remember him for night at the museum and voicing Santa Claus
I first remember him as Santa! Those creepy Rankin bass Christmas specials are a huge Christmas tradition for me and my family!! But I also remember him from phantom of the megaplex on the disney channel!!
After 2 years, I recently finished watching all 5 seasons of TZ. I’ve been SO eagerly anticipating this October as I’d more frequently than not watch these videos after watching an episode, and I was so sad after there were no more to watch. Needless to say, I’m glad they’re back!!
I will miss Walter's analyses when they come to an end. It's very apparent that he does his research and puts a lot of time into his work, and I respect that a lot of
It could be fun to see them continue with some select episodes of the 80s reboot of Twilight Zone. “I of Newton”, “Examination Day”, and “A Message from Charity” are awesome.
I loved this whole run and have been here from the start. I wouldn't mind seeing you do the other versions of the shows, or maybe a highlights/lowlights of each season. Also Mickey Rooney, the number one child star in the world! BANG! ZOOM!
Crazy to think 5 years pass since you started these. I become armwrestling in pro division since I remember first year training I would play these on background so I could tak to baby booomers more about favourite old TV show and got hooked myself.
Happy Twilight Tober Zone 2024! It's no easy feat to act alongside yourself for the entire screentime, but Mickey Rooney pulled it off with aplomb, making Grady a revolting protagonist who earned his comeuppance.
"They're watching sexy things" HA Anyway this episode feels more relevant now I believe. So many people wanting a scapegoat for actions they did and can't comprehend how their lives fell apart by their own actions. I'm guilty of this as well which is why this episode stuck with me. Mirrors are often symbolized by inner turmoil or the truth and I think this episode does well in showing the downside of not owning up to one's actions but also how what you think you want isn't exactly a good thing. How people sometimes get a second chance only to botch it or they jump too quickly into thinking a chance can never happen. There was a guy in real life who ended his life when he got tried for putting his wife six feet under only for the jury to say they would've cleared him because the evidence wasn't clear cut. Glad you are still doing these looks into the episodes. Shame this season had some stinkers though.
Mickey Rooney sounded like a cranky old jackass in the commentary, no wonder he married multiple times if he an attitude like that. Also, there are quite a few young people who like The Twilight Zone, so Mickey was wrong.
Id heard this audio of mickey rooney saying "no they are watching....*sexy things*" before but had no idea where it was from! Got a really good laugh out of that
We're back! Not one of my favorite episodes, but Mickey Rooney did a great job as the jockey and the conscience. 4:06-5:00 Those were some great ideas. With the exception of "Many Many Monkeys", I'm surprised none of the other incarnations picked them up. Then again I always wished one of them could have done, Ray Bradbury's "Here There Be Tygers" as well.
Welcome back, TTZ! We hope, next year, you'll see fit to dig into the 1980s reboot movie (Vic Morrow RIP) -- and into the new series which followed it. That, and also the two "Lost" TZ episodes from Rod Serling (James Earl Jones RIP)...Please and thanks!
That commentarry was one of the most bizarre things I ever listened to, I would have been really disapointed if it hadn't been mentioned here. Sadly, you don't come out of it with a good impression of Mickey.
1:05 here lies the hopes and dreams of those who expected walter would cover the 1985 series, the 2002 series, or even the 2019 series 3:53 i might try to check those ideas and projects later
Such a shame about Mickey acting like that in the interview. Sounds like he might not have fond memories of this production. ...Well it also sounds like he was a grumpy old bastard, but y'know, two things can be true at the same time
After 50 years and 300 roles he might not have any memories of it, let alone appreciate people still to this day bringing up his height difference. I honestly do not blame him here.

(2:13) Whenever my cousins and I watched TLNOAJ as kids, we joked about how this particular line would make for a great Enzyte (read: male enhancement) commercial. We had a bizarre sense of humor; what can I tell you?
the funny thing about this episode is that mickey rooney also played a jockey in the film stablemates which was a film made in 1938 when he was younger
Mickey Rooney was originally wanted for the role of Rocky Valentine in Season 1 episode A Nice Place to Visit, but he had to decline due to scheduling conflicts. After Rod Serling himself refused to take the role, it went to Larry Blyden and he totally nailed it.
