Janice, I'm so excited to tell you I saved $111.13 this week buying sales & clipping the store & online coupons! Thank you so much for all of your inspiration and showing us that saving money on groceries is absolutely possible!! I'm one happy wife, momma & Nana 😊😊
I realized what it is I love about your grocery hauls. You show that those of us who are baking our own bread, making our own pantry staples, and cooking our meals at home CAN and DO buy premade/prepackaged food items, too. And it's OK! There is a thought in the homestead/homemaking world that you can't (or shouldn't) do that. Your grocery hauls are similar to mine. Our children even comment about how similar the items we purchase are. Thank you for showing us what you're purchasing and how you use it. I think it helps clear up the notions about the "rules" for feeding our families. ❤
I went to Kroger this morning and got my turkey for .49 a pound Got the bouns fuel points Can veggies were on sale too Also 8 lb potatoes 2.99 a bag that's the best I have seen in our area in a long time . Got the peanut butter too. Had to spend 25 dollars to get the turkey for 49 cents a pound but with their sale this week made it worth it.
That’s awesome that you had extra money to put towards the summer kitchen!! I hope your friend is available soon so you can get more work done on the summer kitchen!! That’s a good deal on the canned veggies at Aldi might have to check it out!
Those pasta and rice packages are really easy to jazz up with meat, vegatbles and spices! It really is a quick and inexpensive meal! It's so nice that your regional grocery store is honoring Veterans! We all knew you could recover from the expense of the Meet and Greet, You are just to savvy not to! You have the best supporters, so glad that you received the gift cards to help out! Gear haul as always!
I saw that you were so happy with the mushrooms! I have a nice tip. Store your mushrooms for up to 12 months by freezing them! Cut them into slices and fry them. Drain them on kitchen paper, freeze them on a baking tray and then store them loose in the freezer. Use the mushrooms frozen in the pan, without thawing them beforehand. Bye bye bless you all from the netherlands
I finally made your sausage seasoning and made turkey sausage. We like ours a little spicier so on the second batch, I added a little more salt, pepper and cayenne. Oh....so good. 😍
I am 77 and hubby is 79 I try to keep our food budget no more than 400.00. Now we can spend more it's just that I enjoy seeing h9ow I do every month my hubby laughs at me. We really don't eat out much because hubby has a hard time walking so we stay home etc on Sunday we attend our church. I too including paper and cleaning product in that budget. lol I do feel sorry for many families today with grocery prices. I raise only 3 kids but there ll been married over 20 years too.
Wow! I'm excited for you Janice! What a great boost towards the summer kitchen this month, especially with the Meet and Greet coming out of the budget. Some of our shops here have a basket for donating food too and theres usually a basket for pets alongside it. It doesn't surprise me that you donate to the less fortunate as you have such a big heart and it is obvious that you care about people. Have a blessed weekend ❤️🕯️🙏
i need canned beans and regular corn but cant find a sale here i have frozen stocked but i like to have a flat for winter/ i have my canned soup for winter ...... have a great weekend hugssssss
Janice I opened a can of Great value Green beans last night bought a few weeks ago .62 cents a can and all it had in it was WATER!!!! LOL First time that has ever happen in 50 years!! LOL It would cost more to drive back to Walmart and would they believe me can was empty!!!! Thought you'd enjoy a laugh today!!
I’m sorry that you lost your vegetables, but that is hilarious. I’ve heard of a lot of things, but I’ve never heard of a green bean thief. Somewhere there is a child saying why couldn’t have that happened in my house so I don’t have to eat the green beans. 🤣
@BrowneyedGirlmjd LOL I went to drain in the sink 😅 when I did the lid went right to the bottom all liquid down the drain....I was laughing told my husband they had 1 job to do lol. Then I said the walmart Manager would think I ate them trying to get a free can of 62 cent beans if i took it back ! and we both laughed!!! Lol one of life's wth moments 😆
I think the excitement is knowing that you have provided healthy food for your family well in budget and you are able to get started again. Also to very cool that you are able to bless some people at the same time!
Janice, I had an hour before I could type in a comment. Have you made CORN FRITTERS? It is wise to stock up. The weather is changing after Thanksgiving. God Bless precious family.
I NEVER buy the 73% gr beef. You get 7% less beef, or 7% more fat. Once I add that 7% into the price, it isn't worth it, plus, it's soooo greasy. I just wait for the 80/20 to be on sale. I love your posts!
That's actually not true. I just watched a YTer that cooked 73%, 80% and 90% and after cooking the 73% was still cheaper per ounce of cooked meat then paying more for the 80% or 90%! And this YTer rinsed and drained each one after cooking to make sure the weight was just the cooked meat and nothing else. I would have thought the same as you if I hadn't seen it for my own eyes. It's amazing all the misconceptions we all believe! This YTer would always show sales for the 73% and would always get the same comments as your's so she decided to find out for sure which onw was cheaper per cooked ounce of meat and the 73% won!
Got up this morning at the (excuse my expression) “butt crack of dawn”, to go shopping and hit ALDIs. Hoping to get lucky and beat the crowd, no such luck it seemed as though the entire state of NH was there lol. I got the butter, mushrooms etc. As I was unpacking I thought of you Janice, I looked at everything and said to myself “this makes me happy”. 😊
I love deals and stock up too! I have to be careful because with only a family of 3, I sometimes overstock!! We too give food to blessing boxes, which helps with my over zealous deal shopping!
Janice I just love your grocery haul videos with the sale ads. This week at my Kroger the Idaho mashed potato packets are 99 cents I have not seen that price in a while these are perfect for Blessing Boxes as they only require water. As a single retiree these are perfect for me when I want mashed potatoes. Also the 2 pound bags of brown sugar and powdered sugar is on sale much less expensive than Aldi $1.79 vs $2.29. FYI😊
Hello from West Va sweet family....I don't read the Kroger ad anymore I just watch you an make my list. Thank you!! Also the only thing I can see on your wishlist is a butter churn. I am not tech savvy, is there another?
Janice you may need to double check your receipt on Aldi for the butter. My ad said $2.49 in the ad, but the sign in the store says $2.99 and that is what i had to pay for the butter. Let me know if you got it for $2.49 and maybe I'll ask my store to honor. ???
Wow! I'm in Manitoba. Regular butter is $6.49 or 6.99 at Walmart. (Can't remember exactly) I did find a deal in my small grocery store awhile ago for 5.99.
Good Morning Great haul Janice. Going shopping today Seattle is going to have a big rain storm tomorrow. Blessings. My arthritis in my knee and hip are really bad.
How i sympathise with you nothing better than a hot water bottle- pester replace them ever year if possible as I had one burst burned my foot badly.Take care .,
Wow you really got some good deals this week! How awesome! I always love to watch your videos like this because I'm in Canada and I can not speak for all of Canada but here where I live, when stuff comes on sale, some of it is really good deals but it's still not as cheap as there!
Good job, Janice! Besides making cookies with those mini M&M's, you can also sprinkle them on top of a warm freshly baked cake. No need to ice it then.
Howdy from Texas!!! I was just wondering if you like the aldi coffee? I got the mushrooms, canned goods, butter, mini cukes, and raspberries. I did get the cream cheese since we do not have a Kroger. Have a great weekend!
I can't see kroger sale ads this week online either. But the coupns are still there! Thanks, I look forward to your sale ad videos! (I love all of your family videos) ❤❤❤
So you have a place where you have your awesome recipes? I have made a couple they were so delish!! I live in California so we don’t have any of those stores but I still love watching how much you save!!!
Hi Janice! I was so surprised when you said you hadn't gotten the bone in chicken breast before!! This is what I do with it. When it is a good price, get two or 3 pkgs . Then roast it up in the oven. I have done it with salt and pepper, Mexican seasonings, rotisserie, whatever you want. Leave the skin on. It becomes so moist!! After it cools, then you can debone it all, separate it up and you are ready for so many future meals. The bone in roasting keeps it so moist!! And it stretches really far. Your price of .99/# is wonderful!! Love your videos! Blessings!!
