RIP Ahmed Alshaiba. the only one who tamed the wildness of Western music with the venerable wise Arabic Sheikh...the Oud hearing The Last Of The Mohicans, Despacito, Faded, Rockabye, Shape of You, and especially The Sound of Silence ...with the Oud...It was truly a masterpiece.

This guy inspired me to learn to play the oud. Now he moves in other worlds. But energy cannot be destroyed, only changed. Part of him lives through every person inspired by his talent and work. Grateful to RU-vid for immortalizing him here.

Just remembered this and came here to listen to this magic again and learned he is no more! I am deeply sorrowed for a person I never knew! Farewell Ahmed! May Allah have mercy on your soul. Your music will live on!

I cant believe he died , he was the only one the only hope to bring the oud music outside of arab world all around the world. his covers for western music was a peacefull bridge for civilizations !!! 😭😭😖😣😞😞😞 god have mercy on his soul.

From the 1992 film The Last Of The Mohicans. This musical piece originally entitled The Gael, was composed by Scottish singer songwriter Dougie Maclean for his 1990 album called The Search. It was later adapted for this film and entitled Promentory.

My god i learned now about his passing. I was not listening to his music but feeling it. RIP artist.

really amazing. as an Indian who lived in the Arab world for most part of my life and right now living in Europe, I say that the world is almost entirely ignorant of the potential of the Arabs. we need more people who would be ambassadors of good faith just like this talented young man here who showed how heavenly Arabic musical instruments can be. personally I'm also a big fan of Arabic food especially the shawarma

Ahmed Alshaiba, who as a teenager in Yemen taught himself the oud, a fretless lutelike Arabic instrument, and who after immigrating to the United States built an online following with his cover versions of pop songs that deftly blended Western and Middle Eastern influences, died on Sept. 28 in a car accident. He was 32.
