This is actually closer to the original version of the song called "They Gaels" by Dougie MacLean which was a Scotch-Irish traditional folk instrumental. Later composer Trevor Jones would adapt it as the most well known version "Promentory" for the movie Last of the Mohicans.

My guess is that since many more people are familiar with the movie and not with the underrated MacLean,she is using the Last Of The Mohicans name.Besides,dozens of other artists cover the piece doing the same as well. Outstanding,anyways!

@@eloslaconia I wasn't commenting on the name, I was commenting on the style, nor was I making any critique or correction. I was simply stating it's closer to MacLean's original folk version than Trevor Jones' cinematic orchestral version.

This was my dads favorite movie and he passed away only four months ago. This song definitely reminds me of him. I’ve always loved your music and I showed your music to him, too. He loves your music. My Wife and her family are Scottish and we had a piper at our wedding, we were selecting songs, her Father and the piper (Irish piper) had never heard of it, I said Google Last of the Mohicans. Day of the wedding I’m waiting for my wife to arrive as the piper was playing outside for guests as they arrived. He started banging out this epic song and I rushed out, looked at him and gave him a wink and a nod. He gave me a smile while still piping. I’ve got about a 10 second clip of it but it certainly settled my nerves before she came down the aisle 😂
