There's a mechanic in the game(s) where when you get down to the last person in the group, they'll sometimes cower and beg for their life. The first time it happened, I backed off and tried to let them go. They kept cowering and I stupidly turned my back. Count that as a lesson learned because every person after that who tried begging just got shot. I want to think I'd be merciful, but in a situation like this, letting someone live means they could kill you then or just come back later to kill you knowing where you are. I would absolutely HATE to have to make that kind of decision in real life. I really like the way they handled it in the show because they didn't shy away from what a grotesque act it really is.
When Joel hits the car into the building and he frantically asks Ellie if she's hurt anywhere. He's thinking of Sarah. When the car accident broke her ankle. You can see him thinking, "omfg I finally started caring about someone and the same thing is gonna happen again..."
There are TWO methods to syphon gas so you are BOTH right. It is about pressure DIFFERENTIAL. That can be either a high pressure to normal pressure tube/outside OR normal pressure thru a low pressure tube If you ONLY have a single hose, or a hose with a bulb pump, you *SUCK* / reduce the air pressure within the hose so that the normal air pressure in the tank pushes the liquid upward into the hose to fill in the low pressure space (like a straw). once over the curve and it heads downward, gravity pulls and keeps pulling, maintaining the flow. The OTHER method IS to have TWO hoses AND some sealant for the opening so the air can't escape out. You place one long tube at the bottom of the tank and the other shorter tube near the TOP and seal the entrance. You *BLOW* into the short tube, which increases the pressure inside the tank. Since you seal the entrance, the air can't escape and the higher pressure pushes the liquid up through the normal pressured syphon tube In a new car you have to deal with an anti-syphon mesh or even an roll over valve (which also prevents syphoning). If a valve, a two tube system won't work.
When Joel started asking her how she was. Ya'll I started ballin my eyes out 😭 such a good tender moment with Joel and Ellie here. I also love Pedro's one liners made me chuckle 😅
I bawled my eyes out as well when Joel asked Ellie if she was okay. He was clearly thinking of what happened to his daughter and no doubt worried that something would happen to Ellie, especially now that he's starting to care about her.
Loved, loved when you compared Melanie Lynsky's charachter to Ms. Carmody in The Mist. I love that novel and the movie and Marsha Gay Harden's version of the character is one of my top five most hated villain characters. Rarely have I wanted a villain to die as much as her and I remember my theater clapping and cheering when she got her comeuppance. I loved Joel and Ellie's bonding this episode! That scene where he's clearly thinking of what happened to his daughter and hurting her ankle when he asked if she was okay *gutted* me. Pedro Pascal is a phenomenal actor and he continually keeps leaving my jaw on the floor throughout the series. Not to say that Bella isn't equally as amazing as Ellie! She is just as amazing and just as captivating to watch. Here's hoping she has a long career ahead of her and that she continues to earn praise. She more than deserves it!
I love this show and MELANIE LYNSKEY from YELLOWJACKETS my BABES🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️sooooo ICONIC like you GUYS keep making my days with your reactions prolly my 2nd favorite episode other then episode 3 but I just wanted to leave y’all something ❤️🤞🏽🥰and let me get back to this HELLHOLE ❤️😭😒and Bella Ramsey is my SISTER for now on got the same last name anyways 🤞🏽🥰😊I LOVE HERRRRR🥰😂😂😂😂
i keep wondering why bella looks a bit younger in the face in some episodes compared to others and i realized that this show was filmed over a whole year.. like no wonder lol. ALSO bella is such an amazing ellie. and the fact that she hadn't even played the game while filming means that they're just a great actor in general.
The way Joel eats is the "fancy" or European way to eat with a fork, with the tines pointed down. It's how I was taught to eat, although I also picked up my father's habit of almost only using a fork--my dad was handicapped from a childhood stroke so he had reason to do it, I think my ADHD brain just appreciates the simplicity of only one tool.
We use knife and fork the same way in Australia. I live in the US at the moment, and am always amused at how differently Americans handle their cutlery. Love the cultural differences.
That crying for mom scene lol I was cussing him bc he looked right at Ellie talking about his mom. I'm like don't try to emotionally manipulate this young girl! You were just ready to kill them both and now you're trying to get her to feel sorry for you! Also I salivate over Pedro always. Join me lol
You should do the masterfully done "Friend of The Family" on PeacockTV. No other show can boast their villain convinced a straight priest to give them a hand job.
