The Last of Us 2 Alternate Happy Ending

So I already did a version of this in our "How The Last of Us 2 Should Have Ended." I liked the idea so much that I choose to expand on it a lot. So what I did with this video, is A LOT of flashbacks and music from the first game, connecting Ellie's life on the farm to her previous experiences. It's not a completely "happy" ending, which is fine, part of what makes the first Last of Us so good is that it's traumatizing and emotional. But there is hope. And that's all I wanted to accomplish here, to give a sense of hope. I added a bit to the beginning section during the fight, splicing back and forth between Abby and Ellie's perspective when Abby first comes in. I did a lot of audio editing and tried to fit clips in where they felt natural during my flashback sequences.
I feel the weakest section here is Tommy. I left him out complete from the previous video. I didn't know how to include him here. I thought that him coming to see Ellie and demand vengeance felt out of character. I do acknowledge that it makes sense he could be vengeance-filled now because of his experiences, but it just felt off to me. So in this version, Tommy does come visit and he has lost Maria, but he just comes to explain something to Ellie, we don't know what. Ellie is in a constantly stage of painful nostalgia, regret and is affected by PTSD. I hope you guys enjoy!
The discussion around this game has become so toxic that I almost didn't make the video, but at the end of the day, this is what makes fandom and new media so much fun. Yes, I get the point of the story. Yes, I understand it's not supposed to be happy. It's not about that for me, I just didn't like it. If you did, then good. We are all different. I do not think that I am better than Naughty Dog, nor do I pretend I could make anything near to what they have made. I'm just a fan who did not enjoy the story and am doing some wish-fulfillment here.
