Special thanks to PlayStation for providing me with an early access review code of The Last of Us 2 Remaster.
A complete run of the "No Return" roguelike mode in The Last of Us 2 Remastered on the PS5 using Joel. This run also achieves an S Rank on Moderate difficulty and features the Rat King as the final boss.
No Return is the Roguelike survival mode included with the The Last of Us 2 Remastered. It features randomised encounters in which you will face different foes and partake in a variety of different modes. Once you complete 5 encounters, you will then fight the boss at the end. If you die during any of the encounters you will fail the run. Play as characters such as Ellie, Dina, Tommy, Joel, Lev, Abby, Mel, Manny who each have their own strengths.

I despise how they take the dodge mechanic from Joel in Part I and this remaster. Having dodge makes the combat so much more engaging and skill based. Absolute terrible decision.

Imagine making joel (most valuable character) a playable character again only to give him abbys animations...seems extremely lazy lol

I'm not a fan of Joel's animations to be quite honest, looks like the same ones used for Abby. But regardless, it's such a relief for us to play as Joel in this mode.

This is not joel this is literally abby they pasted joel over abby its the same thing with dina dina ain't nothing but Ellie.

That movement is not Joel, just ctrl c+ctrl v Abby's

Seems very fun I might give it a try, the only thing I don’t like is that Joel runs and moves like Abby and he can’t dodge

Im just saddened that there wasnt a coop option for this game mode, missed opportunity imo, it also makes me miss multiplayer playing this game mode, hope one day it gets a standalone or added into the game

So this illustrates for me the difference between dodging (a character-specific ability) and going prone (an updated gameplay ability from PT1->PT2). Awesome!

It's so nice seeing someone with skill and that actually knows how to play The Last of Us. Most of the gameplay I've seen has been dumasses fumbling with the contols, constantly using melee when they want to reload.
