The recent ones involving Halo, Resident Evil, and the Witcher shows that many writers and showrunners not only don’t care about source material but have outright disdain for them. The bottom line is that they don’t care about the existing fans but rather the uninitiated lowest common denominator. But they’re smart enough to code it in language. Uwe Boll straight up says he hates video games. This show is made by the fans and creators of TLOU for fans of TLOU.
