Saaaaaame after seeing the first episode I actually came here to watch this video to just hear Joel say baby girl to ellie, man my heart will melt into thousand pieces once I hear him call ellie baby girl in the show 😭❤
Ashley's line delivery on 'everyone I've ever cared for has either died, or left me...' is just perfect. Possibly the best conversation in the whole game performance-wise, in a game full of great character moments. I believe the little push she does was improv by Ashley in the mo-cap too
51:48 we don't have to do this: Joel doesn't let him his emotions go by, but here we can see how much he loves Ellie and at the end he regret to be in that place because he realizes that Ellie give him hope, the hope he losses it after Sara's death.
Watching this again after knowing what'll happen in the end of the road between them.. Would never be the same feeling as I watch it for the first time..
Legendary game in a legendary Era I’m talking about before the internet really took off and this game is literally my first PS3 game I ever had that I still have in physical copy ahh man I tear up just thinking about back then. I’ll forever treasure that game and it’s story till sheesh I never wake up again
I’m a little bummed that the cutscene where they get to the university isn’t in here. I don’t know why but I find him trying to explain football to Ellie really funny 😂
@@6ouiss yes but as you soon encountered driving and you left your skill behind, your muscle memory will started to be lost and you will not be familiar of what you been doing for the past 20 years of your lifetime.
27:03 Joel tried to stop Ellie from introducing herself to two people, hilarious how Joel told everyone his name to a whole group of people surrounded him
He literally says nothing about it…… he immediately ask about something else and as much as y’all love to hate on II Y’all never seem to notice Joel didn’t reveal his name it was tommy who has been constantly stated to be nicer and friendlier than Joel
@@makhibarber7213 cause Ellie said it in 1 second, he didn’t make it to stop her, but you can see from his expression that he’s being cautious to Henry and Sam, even after they saved him from drowning And before the apocalypse, Joel stopped Tommy from helping those people on the road who’s crying for help immediately, Joel is so cautious and trust no one already BEFORE everything happened Joel and Tommy walked in a room without any guards is just lazy writing and disrespectful to the original character they had
@@brodymercer8166 killing a bunch of Fireflies and ending Marlin mercilessly is not a character development but a poetic tragedy This whole game is about Joel’s morality demising, not Joel becoming a good person and being stupid
23:28 Did anyone notice that the guy’s corpse was not only still human, but when Ellie went to cock the rifle the round was used? A subtle detail that shows that the guy offed himself with the rifle!
She knew he was lying though, so she didn't trust it. She consented to it regardless because they loved each other as Father-Daughter and that was what she needed/wanted.

50:24 did ellie say “i love you to joel”? i never realized she said something in that moment, but now im curious because that scene is one of the most adorable scenes in the game that shows how joel and ellie’s bond has gotten stronger
When there was this moment, I saw tears of Ellie, Joel, and when the sound of the game disappears and there is a melancholic, sad music, I just sobbed. The connection between Ellie and Joel has become much stronger. I hope she said it..
I honestly don’t think the HBO show is not gonna do this series well. At the end of the day the way they made this game is a show on its own…you really can’t capture That again on real film. HOWEVER what they should do and a lot people are thinking this, is that we have new characters in the Last of us universe. Having a different perceptive on how people are Surviving in that world would be way better then doing a copy of a game. But regardless this remake is fantastic. 10/10
Well maybe it’s possible… there could be new characters in the series ya never know- Cause I highly doubt they’ll make a series on this with Joel and Ellie by some selves 24/7 There’s bound to be world building no doubt
no way in hell the show is gona do justice, but we may be wrong you never know. i do like the idea of the show being based on new characters, that sounds more dope tbh
@@av_990 ngl every time I see pictures of the actors for Joel and Ellie or pictures of them shooting scenes like outside jackson’s gates, I feel a little bitter😅 Ig I’m just sad about the idea of if someone finds out about the last of us, they could very likely just head to the show instead of the game, see that the show is ass (if it turns out that way), judge it off of that and never be able to experience how great it actually is. That’s kinda how I felt about the uncharted movie
@@av_990 I mean it's the first video adaptation made by a competent director and also the game writer is involved, which is also a first for a video game adaptation afaik
Bro Joel didn't deserve to die bruh, I mean yeah he was really mean to Ellie in the beginning and told her to go their separate ways, but in the Joel still really cared about her :(
The only real lack of realism, regarding the characters appearances, is that you don't see their hair/beard growing throughout their sojourn. Being on the road, you're not gonna have access to barbers or grooming tools. So I always felt that by the end of the their journey, Joel's hair and beard would've grown out, and Ellie, because she's only 14 at the beginning, would've probably grown a bit by the end.
I know In logic Joel is a horrible man. I'm sure that we all look up too the character and what he stands for when it comes to being a father and a given man. I aim to be a Father like Joel.
If Joel spared Marlene, in part 2, she’s still be alive and when Abby is about to finish Joel, Marlene ordered Abby to wait and talk to Joel. She would say, “I’m sorry, Joel. You left me no choice.” and accepts Abby to kill him. And when Abby is about to kill Dina, Marlene ordered Abby to stand down and would say this to Ellie, “I watched Joel die. I was there. I saw him get brutally beaten up. I could’ve save him but I didn’t.” Marlene then declines Abby’s request and looks at a shocked and betrayed Ellie warning her in cold blood, “Don’t waste this gift, Ellie.”
Joel softened up is all, it was a false sense of security that caught him off guard. The character development of the first game is what leads to his downfall in the second, he would've survived if he'd stayed an emotionally dead bastard
The Last of Us fans are up there with Star Wars fans in how terrible they are. So many comments here are just unnecessarily shitting on the sequel and implying the HBO show will fail despite there being obvious reasons to believe in it. Not to mention how annoying people are about this remake even though it's the best way to experience the game. Hopefully the HBO show will bring in a more mature audience to appreciate the series.
More mature audience = less passionate. TLoU is a series worthy of a passionate audience, and whether you like it or not, the sequel is absolute *shit* compared to the Masterclass that is the first game.
I thought the same but now that I've just watched the 1st ep I think it's pretty good even though I predict most of the dialogue, for example this scene 4:00 is recreated with a beautiful touch backshadowing Sarah's death (I couldn't remember if it happened in the game so I came to see that it's actually not here)
Ellie means the world to Joel, and every time he tries to save her and keep her out of danger And in the second part, she easily yells at him and insults him. What a joke, the second part really disappointed me.
Joel looks more innocent in the remake, in the original I feel like he looks more badass, same for every character in the game, and their faces weren't so round shaped, it looked skinnier, or is it just me😂😂
the scrne where ellie jumps off the bridge has been so under looked in my eyes prior to the show coming out because rhe show has ellie shit on joels survival instincts all the time but in that moment in the game ellie was making the call joel would of if he wasnt more scared for her than him
Seeing the hospital room scene again really drives home just how in the wrong Joel was, no matter how much anyone tries to justify it. Edit: Guess all you people commenting that he was not wrong are perfectly okay with the fact that Joel killed dozens and potentially stopped the discovery of a cure.
Was he? They were experimenting on kids for their political ambitions and were not above killing people that got in their way. Ellie was likely going to be another killed kid in the name of "progress" for an organisation that wanted power. The Fireflies aren't the good guys, they are the other side of the coin to a military dictatorship. I guess in the second game they try to dumb down Joel's decision to make him seem selfish which is one of many reasons people dislike it but if you read and listen to everything in the hospital you see how little they care about anything but their own progress and them showing everybody they have a cure to take power away from the military. Marlene is nothing but another dictator.
@@ish9763 It wouldn't be my choice, just like it wasn't Joel's to make. Ellie had the right to decide whether she would give up her life for the chance at a cure.
The only problem I had with Ashley Johnson is her voice just sounded like a 30-something adult most of the time, not a 14yo girl, despite her best efforts to mask it. Not just the pitch, but the inflections were often a bit too mature and not adolescent enough. I know many fans of the game will see that as sacrilege, but I'm a fan too and always had an issue with it in TLOU1.
Lol man some people on the steam forums are really salty the game is coming to pc. It's one thing to give an opinion, it's another to be a bitter hater. A lot of people saying why should they buy it if they already played it on PS4 or why did they even buy a PS4 if Sony is gonna release their games on pc. I'm I'm just done with these people 🤣On PS4 I played the game twice. I'm gonna play it some more on pc. No one is ****** forcing you to buy the game or even partake in the conversations. Simple as that. As for the games being on PC suck it.
Sony exclusives are almost always fantastic, that's what makes me so sad when I see what people call Sony ponies never learning how to share. I love PlayStation but honestly the fans can be such stuck up dickheads, anyone should be able to play a masterpiece such as this. It's these same people who whine about PS5 not having any exclusive games, with the actual challenge that it is to get that damn console it just straight up shouldn't have any exclusives yet. First it's bad for business, and second it's just straight up annoying
@@roachdoggjr419 I agree tlou is amazing! one of the reasons I bought a ps4 but there's a few xbox exclusives that iv always wanted to play to but cant see buying a new console for a few games its disappointing wish they could be for both ( edit) and yeah some of the people can be dicks when it comes to their console lol
@@kimberlyh.1090 neil druckman when making tlou2 : hmmmm.... lets make ellie gay, joel dead, spare the most hated character ever, MAKE THE MOST HATED CHARACTER HAVE A SEX SCENE BECAUSE NO SHIT THATS IMPORTANT, throw every ellie's emotion except rage
For any of yall unsure whether you wanna buy this again, my opinion- dont. It's not really worth it. The 1st remastered had so many things this remastered remastered left out. Tbh this game feels more movie like, kind of like a genuine person you met that after some time, where yall meet up again, they have completely changed but in some ways are the same person. But it's your decision. I was gonna buy it bc tlou is my FAVORITE game. But after seeing it, it really isnt worth it.
