Matthew Mann oh I totally understand that. The Last of Us is my favourite video game (and one of my favourite things of all time) so I am very passionate about it as well.
Finally not just some amateurs talking s### but people who A) know what they are talking about when they watch this and B) can appreciate how good this is. I have seen people react that were like they should have done this and that and God of War is better and how this is just the Uncharted engine in new make up. *sigh* Thanks guys!

You know the interesting part is, she got the machete she used to decapitate the last guy with from the guy she killed with the hammer in the parking garage. He dropped his machete and you had the option to pick it up. So what happens if she doesn't pick up the machete? Same goes for the arrows. The woman dropped her arrows when Ellie killed her and she picked them up so she had them when the big guy came running at her. What if she does not pick up the arrows? Is it like Detroit Become Human where your decisions immediately lead to a different set of outcomes? Just thinking about that gives me a nerdgasm. :)
But always remember people are all not the same....and The Last of Us is for everyone....for gamers, non gamers, first timer, TLOU story lovers and for everyone (just those who are adults, teenager or grown ups whatever)
Great reaction/discussion guys! 5:15 Listen mode is disabled on Survivor and Grounded difficulty in the first game. On Easy, Normal and Hard you can turn it off if you don't like/want it.
while he is right that the first last of us gameplay reveal was better than the released gameplay, if even 50% of what happens here is released to us, the animation quality is still better than any game this generation so far.

The first gameplay they ever showed only had one thing which wasn't in the final game: blocking/parrying (when Joel and some dude lock horns with their melee weapons). They removed that feature 4 months before shipping the game due to memory issues and in order to make the melee more seamless. You have the same mechanic here as well, but the developers have said in an interview that it'll be kept in the game this time.

@@quaddo Yeah I saw this video some time after watching this trailer. I have seen 29 playthroughs of TLoU yet I don't think anyone ever found this rare move. So, I suppose it was in the game, it is just kind of hard to get.
You guys are awesome because unlike most reactors who are asking dumb questions that every TLOU fan should know the answers for, you guys actually know what you're talking about.
This is the best reaction I've seen so far. Subbed. Well, some people are saying these rampage scenes has something to do with a tragic ending of their relationship (the bracelet in Ellie's arm), but I really don't want this to come down to a vengeance due to a supposed Dina's death. Hope their relationship has a bigger meaning. (Non native speaker here, sorry for any mistakes).
9:01 they took out the shit they had there. Enemies ambushing you turned out to be confusing, overwhelming and just not fun. So they took it out. Notice how here no enemy is hiding behind doorways or ambushing her. It’s because they learned from last game.
Dr D it just wasn’t. Imagine your having a nice quiet moment with Ellie, taking about fukin dumb shit or whatever, then a clicker jumps you out of the blue, you have no shivs and no materials to craft them so you instantly die. It was just impossible to balance the resources with it and everything I guess. Then with the human beings you would be forced to come out of hiding and doing shit stealthy after being caught. Plus imagine if you had no bullets and ended up being restricted and then ambushed by 20 people at once. Stuck in an endless loop of repetitive death. That wouldn’t be fun.
I see react videos like this and wonder what they think about the game once they played it? I played Part 1 probably 20x so I was *EAGERLY* awaiting Part 2. I think I'll explore this channel to see if I can find any post game play content.

2nd guy from the right is correct about the tlou 1 e3 gameplay. It did not exactly represent the final product graphically or in gameplay/ai mechanics. The same may be true for this demo. It looks amazing, so I hope the final product is as close as possible!
I don't see what he is talking about. The first game plays exactly how the e3 trailer for it played. I didn't really notice a graphical downgrade either. I do agree about this one though, the graphics look way too good for a PS4 or even a PS4 pro to handle. But in terms of gameplay, I really do think it will play like this, as long as you know what you are doing.
Naughty Dog games always look better than the gameplay footage. The only thing from the gameplay footage which was missing in the final game was a blocking/parrying system. It was removed 4 months before the release date in order to make the melee fighting system more streamlined. They have confirmed that every mechanic seen in the gameplay here will be in the final game.
S M I have complete faith in Naughty Dog. The final game will look just as good as, if not better than, the gameplay footage. This has always been the case (The Last of Us, Uncharted 4, Uncharted The Lost Legacy)
people said the same when we first saw TLOU , that it looked too good to be for the ps3, but they delivered and blew people away. They are about to do the same with this.
I think it's funny how 2 of them are arguing about the first game while watching. I agree with the guy in the left that it doesn't play out like what they showed but I agree more with the guy on the right in that the game does play out like that it's just dynamic so it doesn't happen at the same time in the same place but those features were in the game.
At 2:05 The third gentleman comments on the diversity by saying “I love this, btw...” explaining the different races he’s seen so far in the trailer, and no one even acknowledges what he’s saying, like, out of the three there was complete silence, like at all, they don’t even look at him, like he wasn’t talking at all, they don’t nod their head, nothing. Now, I realize that they are all paying close attention to the video, but they acknowledge literally everything else being said before and after. This is a good example of how little diversity means to people who have always seen themselves in media, whether they meant to show that or not, it’s clear. I subscribed because I liked how knowledgeable everyone is about the ND games, but Wow.

Hey Taron, thanks for the comment and feedback. Onix, the third gentlemen who spoke about diversity, did not go unnoticed, though that did not appear the case in this video. Onix, Rudy (2nd guy), and myself (1st guy) had a long discussion about diversity and Straight White Male privilege just prior to this conference (Matt caught up with us later). We talked about social biases and unconscious biases people have towards race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. As a straight white male, I have the responsibility of standing up against these biases because our (American) society has decided that I am normal and everyone else isnt. A black man standing up against racial bias probably won't be heard as loudly as a white woman who again won't be heard as loudly as a white man (generally speaking in our society). My adopted daughter, who is part Mexican, was considered a "special" adoption because she was not 100% white. Our TGR group is very aware of these kinds of biases and we try to support diversity where we can, as evidenced by Onixs comment about racial diversity in the video. In the comments for this video alone you can see how I responded to someone passively joking about lesbians. In our 2017 reaction to Skull & Bones, Onix and I immediately got excited and called out the fact that we could play as a female captain. There's plenty more examples but I wanted you (and others) to know that diversity means a LOT to us here at TGR. And I'm not saying that for the subs (you already did and we sure as hell ain't making any money from this). I'm saying this because it's how we truly feel and I don't want you or others to think otherwise. Again, thank you, Taron, for the feedback. We'd love to hear your thoughts on the above and anything else you might have feedback on :)

Kens Korner Agreed. I'm so happy that for the past thirty years we've had nothing but Pong clones. That's what gaming is and the minute they try to change that it's all over. Did you hear about that one company trying to suggest having two balls on screen at once? Or the one trying to add bumpers to the top and bottom of the screen? And WTF at trying to introduce a fully orchestrated soundtrack!? Our planet is doomed.
Kens Korner interesting video. He brings up some good points, but they definitely don't imply that diversity will kill gaming. At best, his argument is weak. As he stated in the video, NaughtyDog makes some of the best games in the industry and he is still interested and excited for The Last of Us Part 2 and the future of NaughtyDog. He also stated that they make the best games (mechanically and graphically), and is at an almost untouchable level of quality. How does that imply the death of gaming?
+Rodolfo Montilla In the sense that many people are beginning to leave the hobby of gaming due to gaming developers virtue signaling rather then focusing on making solid games. A good example of this is Battlefield 5. Dice is attempting to re-write the storied history of WW2 in an attempt to appease particular groups of people into purchasing their game rather then replicating the historical event they are claiming to simulate. I could care less if they have crazy, off-the-wall shit in the game (such as the curved-barrel STG-44) but having hoards of females and Blacks running around the frontlines of the European theater of WW2 is a fictional scenario. In no way is that an insult to those groups, it is simply stating a historical fact. Despite that, Dice's response is to label anyone who is upset by them having major historical-inaccuracies in their game as "bigots" or "racists." I personally know of three personal friends of mine who have dropped gaming altogether due to their own personal feelings that the gaming industry as a whole despises them simply because they are straight men. One of them even sold me his Halo: Combat Evolved Edition Xbox Original so I knew he was seriously done with gaming.
I know we can't stop the internet from being the internet, but please don't bring unclever jokes like that in here. Diversity in games - and diversity in general - should be celebrated and fiercely defended, not the butt of some dumb RU-vid comment joke that most will never read.
The Internet has basically forgotten that Ellie has already been established to be attracted to girls , hence why one of you guys referenced her sexuality when the trailer just started. I could somewhat see where people are coming from when they state "forced diversity", but this is definitely not even close to the case for The Last of Us, which is even more frustrating and ignorant.
He made the "joke" because those hating on the game are making the same remarks, he obviously doesn't know anything about the game and believes its forced diversity, otherwise why weren't there jokes like this for the first game? You know when anti-SJW people come out to defend the game from trolls, that the trolls make no sense.
Gniffy I agree, theres no evidence of forced diversity yet, that was a side comment. However, youre summizing and assuming he has a problem with the game. All he actually said was 'the lesbians of us', which is not at all indicative of any anti gay, anti inclusive, anti diversity rhetoric. Its also bull that comments like this didnt exist in comment sections for videos of the DLC. They did. The only thing the guy was guilty of is repeating an over used joke.
