I like your predictions. I definitely think Ellie is going to search out the fireflies. That's why the writers use a moth for her symbol. It's a creature that searches for the light in the dark.

I still think about this game every day.

I hope to God they will make a Part 3 that has an ending to this series. I don’t even care how long it takes, I will definitely pay money to play it after completing both games and being a huge fan of the franchise. Great video, hopefully Part 3 will be confirmed some day in the future. Edit: A story outline has been finished according to writers Neil & Halley as of 4/28/21. I do not know if this is going to be Part 3 or something else. But I am now hyped.

If they don't make a part 3, at least make a DLC that gives Ellie some sort of peace of mind. Either show her finding Dina again, or living on her own and finding some kind of happiness.

I definitely think the Jackson kid idea is a possibility!

They kinda hinted that the Seraphites are immune since there was a note Abby read about their ceremony where they cut the young members' faces with what sounds like infected knives, supposedly. It's hinted they do this on purpose to weed out who is "strong" and who is "weak" ie. who inherited the immunity. That's my take but I always suspected Lev was also immune and I think this will come to light if Abby finds a faction of fireflies. This, of course, will force history to repeat itself and Abby will be faced with whether to kill Lev or not ultimately forcing her to understand Joel.

I actually liked the game it felt so much darker fr. I actually liked Abby as much as Elli lol I kinda wish instead that ellie fought the rat king tho

I think it could be interesting if they developed a vaccine without killing Ellie, but quickly realised they would have to trial it on children, and turned to JJ as an option. That way Ellie would be faced with the decision Joel had to make in the first game

I still think about Part 2 regularly. If that doesn't say something about the power of that story, I don't know what does. Great video!

Some of my thoughts for Part 3: 1. I think, given your scenario, the "Jackson Kid" should probably be JJ. We're already invested in him and so is Ellie. It'd be an easy sell. Something terrible happening to JJ would be the push Ellie would need. 2. Abby, after finally making it to Catalina Island and re-joining the Fireflies, word gets around that there is someone who is immune, and Lev just blurts out, "Yes, we've met her." This causes pressure to Abby to come clean. The Fireflies goal was always to restore society and so it would make sense for Abby to lead the Fireflies to Jackson. 3. Part 3 should have a "battle of the five armies" in The Hobbit type of conflict as the people of Jackson, a group of Hunters, WLF, Scars, and Rattlers (along with some other groups as well possibly) now all know there is someone immune and they all descend on Jackson. This puts Maria, Tommy, Dina, Ellie, and JJ right in the middle of an intense conflict where loyalties are tested as people (even within the same group) have different agendas. Some want the cure for all, some want to weaponize the cure, and others want no cure because they want things to stay as they are. And all of this set against newer, even more deadly infected as the world grows more beautifully in nature, but more horrific in types of infected.

I've been just as curious about how Naughty Dog would tackle a story for Last of Us Part 3 (I even made my own video about the subject), and I really like the ideas you've presented. I really like the idea of making the theme about redemption, especially with characters such as Tommy and Abby. It feels like a really fitting conclusion to the world and Ellie's story. Your ideas make it feel like the story has come full circle. I think it will be a while before we get a Part 3, but if it's anything like your ideas, it will be worth the wait. 😁

I’m hoping they don’t take too long on making part 3 like they did with part 2 but there is still so much unresolved that we can’t be done with ellie and Abby yet. I also believe that Ellie will finally try and make it right and seek out Abby and the fireflies for a possible cure.

You mentioning cutting hair and spiritually, it's to release negative energy, but also Abby's cut hair at the end of part ii is "cutting hair was used as a punishment for those who had been enslaved or conquered, ridding their identity and denoting inferior power"

This Prediction was fantastic and i think when tommy and ellie leave jackson it should be on harley motorcycles as a callback to when tommy drove cross country with joel for his birthday years before

I know I’m late to the party, but, I think Ellie realized that Joel knew his time was limited after he did what he did. Joel made the decision ,knowing it would eventually kill him ,to be able to give Ellie what she never had. Someone who wouldn’t leave her no matter what. Give her a life, be a father to her and help her find her reason for living, and in that she was able to forgive Joel and Abby because Joel died to give her life.

I thought part 2 would resolve my obsession of the first game for the last few years, but it’s genuinely only made it stronger, glad I’m not the only one 😂

Ellie hair being long would be a huge change

Fantastic prediction! This would make a great game. Ellie, Abby, and Tommy’s character arcs have not come full circle. This narrative for Part 3 I believe would complete it. Very interesting. Really, it wouldn’t surprise me if Naughty Dog was thinking the same thing. I believe there needs to be one more game to finish the story.

I think Ellie will certainly have to properly earn her way back into Dina's life as she put Dina and JJ in a pretty vulnerable place when she just packed up and left. I would love to see lots more of Abbey who should be with the fireflies now, perhaps in a leadership role. I have full faith in ND as the 1st and 2nd game were absolute gold. They are adult games for mature gamers. They both really kicked my ass, which is what you want really, even if you dont agree with the direction of the story. The 2nd game got a huge response from the gamers.

I love this idea so much!!! This sounds like a really fun game. I do hope Abby plays a very big part in the game as I really like her character. I hope her and Ellie can become Allies and understand each other’s past, maybe even become friends (tho unlikely).

The first one will never be equalled in my opinion. The depth of feeling contained in that story caught me off guard, especially the giraffe scene. The birthday spaceship scene in 2 was touching as well, maybe the most I've ever come across in gaming. Sure, the story in 2 was a mish mash, but still way better than anything else. I wonder if gaming will ever get to these heights again.

Omg I never noticed Ellie wasn’t wearing the bracelet in California- the fact that Ellie didn’t return straight to the farmhouse is an idea I hadn’t considered before and the fact her and Dina might have reconciled was something I would completely disagree with until you talked about it. Part 2 set the bar too high in every category. It's hard to surpass this game with another sequel, but hey, this is the same narrative people had in 2013 (the release of tlou1)

I LOVE this idea. I want Ellie and Abby to end up having to be on the same side. Tommy would need to meet her to fully make piece, and I think Ellie and Abby could help each other heal and make amends with their pasts.

Damn. I'm 10 minutes in and I wish this video were 10 hours long. It's just so good, a masterpiece I'd say. I had to let you know. This content is super appreciated, I have played TLOUP2 last year, when it came out, months have passed and I still can't wrap my head around how good and lifechanging tha game was. This kind of videos really helps putting things into perspective.

So there's something I want to share with you. This is just an opinion some of them are from my own thoughts the others are from different analysis comments from various Ellie vs Abby Final Fight videos: When Ellie sees Abby in her slaved, tortured, and malnourished state, Ellie decides it does not feel right to fight. In addition to the fact that Ellie went to California not because of revenge, but because of her PTSD (there's an interview with Neil Druckman about this). As Ellie witnesses how Abby runs straight to Lev to save him and to comfort him "I got you, I got you", Ellie wonders if this is how Joel must have looked like when he was saving her at the hospital, judging by her facial expression. Abby tells her "There are boats this way" instead of ignoring her or threatening her, so Ellie suspects that Abby's vengeance and hatred towards Ellie, Tommy, and especially Joel are gone. However, when Ellie sees blood she has the flashback of Joel and she cannot bring herself to let Abby go. One should note that Ellie says "I can't let you leave" and the tone is very desperate. If Ellie wanted revenge, she would have immobilized Abby by shooting her in the leg or would have said something more violent like "You're dying here, don't think it's going to be slow". Ellie's PTSD and guilt are slaving Ellie to fight. Since Abby already let all the maliciousness go, she refuses to fight Ellie. Even in the interview with Laura Bailey, she said Abby understood how Ellie felt. My take is that Abby would have let Ellie to kill her. On the contrary to what Abby suspects, Ellie is not seeking revenge; Ellie is looking for a way to escape her PTSD. Thus, Ellie threatens to kill Lev because she is so desperate. Ellie fights Abby and barely manages to overpower her. As Ellie drowns Abby, Ellie has the flashback since the first time Ellie has killed someone, it was to save Joel from "drowning". That's why Ellie is crying. She is becoming the same person who is killing Joel. I still don't have a clear idea what triggered Ellie to have "good" flashback, but I can only assume it's because the end (of her revenge, of her PTSD, of her journey, etc) is near, she remembers the final moment with Joel. "I don't think I can ever forgive you for that. But I would like to try." Abby finally becomes equal to Joel when Ellie was drowning her. So when Ellie has the flashback of her final conversation with Joel, this sentence is not only to Joel, but also to Abby (I think to herself as well; forgiving herself of wasting 2 years to reconcile with Joel and treating him like shit when they finally have a conversation of a sort since she figured out the truth). "Go. Just take him." For the longest time, I thought "him" meant Lev. But now I can see that "him" was referring to "Joel". Ellie is finally able to let Joel go. The one who has taken Joel from Ellie is right there. So I think this sentence truly means "Go, I can let go of my vengeance. I can move on now. I'll let Joel/you go." I believe at this point. Ellie is 99% free from PTSD. The final step is to truly say good-bye to Joel. Therefore, the one last time Ellie plays the guitar and remembers the final conversation with Joel one last time. Then she leans the guitar on the wall instead of packing it back into the case (letting the guitar/Joel to be free instead of trapping it back inside). Now all Ellie has to do is to reconcile with Dina, JJ, and Tommy. According to Neil Druckman's interview (I forgot the time stamp but I can give you the link if you'd like), I doubt Ellie reconciled with Dina before visiting their old farm. The first draft of ending is Ellie returning back to the farm only to find that Dina left with JJ and left Ellie nothing. Ellie plays guitar for one last time and she packs JJ's elephant toy (I forgot the name) in her backpack before leaving the house. Neil changed the scene because he thought Ellie packing the elephant toy gives too much away and he wanted to make the ending look as vague as possible. I have to admit, I thought the story of this game was so fucked up despite hating Joel. However, throughout the time I realized more and more what a powerful masterpiece this game is. I wouldn't call it a 10/10 but definitely 9/10. With this game in mind, I will never ever judge something until actually having to experienced it myself.

There will be a Part 3. We are just have to hang in there for quite a while, people.

I think tommy will become unhinged he has brain damage from the bullet and his rage for abby if he can walk however he could go and it would make sense but he'd become out of Ellie's control once he and Abby meet up. I think Diana isn't going to have forgiven Ellie she means what she says I few years isn't enough for her to heal from the heartbreak she's had her baby daddy wasn't long dead before Ellie left her on her guilt ridden revenge quest so no I do not think nor should Diana just allow Ellie back in there should be tension and frankly ellie being as upset as joel was by the way Diana now treats her it would even be a mirror to how Ellie treated Joel for lying to her but in Ellie's case it's heart break + family betrayal. Diana seems to have the healthy boundries and expectations between the two of them. We also have the possiblity Abby is haunted by the Ellie of the beach and has some ptsd from that as an under current to their interactions stalling things or making things impossible as Abby will have to burry that phantom version or refight Ellie. Yet considering how well Abby was healing with Lev I think she'll choose to burry ghost Ellie but will need time.

Message for Abby haters: Imagine that one of your loved ones got murdered in cold blood. Wouldn’t you want revenge and kill the person who killed what meant most to you? Wouldn’t you want to do it no matter what? Put your self in Abby’s place and in Abby’s mindset in that situation.

When Ellie bit Abby it made her immune. Abby will find out when she gets bitten in the beginning of part 3 and realize it, then try to find Ellie. We're definitely gonna play as Jessie Jr too.

My prediction for the overall story is that when Ellie's finger got bit off by Abby in the final of Part 2, she accidentally infected Abby with the mutated version of the virus that Ellie has. Abby will then get bit at some point during Part 3 and will not turn. When she gets to the fireflies, they will realise this is the cure.

An interesting idea. I’d certainly take it. I do however have a theory of my own where The Last of Us Part III may go: Abby and Lev have rejoined the Fireflies and they have grown in numbers over the years. Some of the Fireflies get wind of Ellie’s existence and that Abby knows where she may be located. They want Abby to help track her down but she refuses as she doesn’t want to reopen that door of pain and hatred. So the Fireflies force her to help them track her down. The player will control Lev who learns of what is going on and decides to track the Fireflies down and save Abby. Lev also wants to track down Ellie and warn her as he believes it’s the right thing to do but Abby is reluctant to. Ellie has gone into isolation and cut off contact with everyone as she can’t bear the pain of losing anyone she loves anymore.

Always hated Dina, shes the kind of person who always jokes away everything serious and cant relate to what other people are feeling. The fact she left Ellie while she was suffering from PTSD is one of the worst things you can do to someone your suppose to love.

During the setup talk, I love the idea of Tommy and Ellie being the focus mainly because I want to know more about what he and Joel did those first few years of surviving after the outbreak. I wanted that when I heard there was DLC coming out for the first game and I hoped they would touch on it in the second game. So hopefully I get that in the third.

Man, what a masterpiece Part 2 is. Tbh, there's no way Part 3 wont come out. And it will probably wont take as long as Part 2 since pretty much they're gonna use the same engine and assets. I mean, its brand new. My guess is 2024-2025. And since Part 2 was better than Part 1 in every way, i hope Part 3 will surpass both of them. And they better keep papa Joel in the game. In form of memories/flashbacks. Give it a year or two and people will ask themselves "Why did i hate on Part 2?" just like Dunkey said. I mean, lets hope those who hate on it ACTUALLY play it =))))) There arent many that hate it but still (compared to those who love it). You cant please everyone and you should never try to. And remember this: its THEIR game. Naughty Dog's. No one is forcing you to play it or like it. Stop acting like entitled babies throwing a tantrum. Do you think i didnt hate Abby in my first playthrough? Oh boy... But on my second i understood her and my hate for her just went ''poof'' She had all the right to do what she did. As we all would in her place. Same goes for Joel with what he did. This is what i love about TLOU2, it messes with you moral compass. There's always two sides of the coin my dear friends. Always. I know its hard to be unbiased and im not saying that people who didnt understand the moral of the story are stupid, but they do lack emotional maturity in my opinion. I really hope Part 3 will bring peace and that the minority of haters will join the rest of us and be satisfied with how the series will end. That is ofc, if they stop at TLOU3. Cuz i've noticed a pattern with ND. They really like the number 4.

2024, what a great story idea! Only gripe is the idea of possibly finding another immune person as Ellie’s immunity was such a rare situation (TV show way)

I Love this game so much i literally just started playing it again a week a go. Its pure perfection.

I want a part three, but i'm afraid of the show succeed and get a couple of seasons, druckman might skip the game and tell the story through the show, which will suck for us who want a third game.

Im the only one who thinks the sence in the hospital with marlene and abbys dad would be good for part 3? I mean this is very wild but what if abby is also imune ? And her dad knows. It would be give the story yet more deepnes. we could also go with ellies mum and the open questions in part 1 , it could be also a good one, and mabye can give us a way to make a vaccine without killig ellie . And ellie finding out about her past , her dad , the relationship between marlene and ellies mum ( anna i guss ) So long story short i wish they use the potenial from part 1 and 2.😂

I only disagree with one thing you said.. that the naughty dog writers could do a better job.. I think you should be writing for them. What I really appreciate is your research details giving us the psychological reasons as well as historical reasons things happen. Gives the whole story so much more depth. ! I love Last of Us Part 1 and 2 Part Two for the gameplay part 1 for the story it'll be two years as of June since part 2 came out so yeah probably another four to five years before part 3 comes out I wish it would come out sooner but that's the reality probably I definitely will pick up the game and play it for sure if Ellie is still a main character. Until that I am sure I will play part 1 and part 2 a couple more times they're just such great games

i remembered the day that this game came out, like everyone else, i hate this game then my uncle said to me "I'll buy you the game, it might change your opinion" so i played it and finished it, i fucking love it. Still cant get over this game till today

For me I believe that tlou3 will take place 10 to 15 years later either lev or JJ leaves to find something or someone lev or JJ will find a new fraction the crows and or thunderbird Lev or jj will try to find a doctor to help dina, Ellie or Abby

I really hope we get to see the next game take place in southern states, Im tired of endless city blocks, it would be nice to see the next game in, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, Texas New Mexico or Arizona.

I think something will draw abby to help ellie for some reason like the fireflies will come after her again and abby will help her figure out another way to find the cure

I think tommy's character arc is complete especially considering how the creators went out of their way to inform us he is paralysed in his leg his case worse than dr house's and they said ellie had to go cause he couldnt so i doubt they are bringing him back.Personally i believe the only characters back will be ellie abby and lev.I also believe lev will doe early on since part 1 was about a father loosing a daughter part 2 a daughter loosing a father and part 3 could be about a mother loosing a son plus this allows for abby's character to be more sympathetic and to leave her and ellie alone cause he would have been a liability in the story

I know it might be dumb, but I'd love to see one of the cannibals from David's Town in part 3,maybe someone who escaped Ellie and Joel's killing rampage

I was thinking that the rattlers will be in the third game and they will have found a way to make humans into infected but they can still think like a human, so the new infected could be like runner but they can use guns and hide and think like humans
