Its not about fear be race driver,you never thinking this way:What happend if my wheel broke..etc. Go check old Top Gear when Clarkson try driving F1 car that is great example.
Agree, torque it is. In the past I blew my 2.0 liter 8 valve in my Ascona B during a rally and I was in the ability to borrow a 2.7 Manzel 8 valve. From idle to 4000 rpm max. torque.
@@Martink9191 I had an old merc with throttle cable as opposed to drive-by-wire. It revved like a gas car. All the countless other diesels I have owned that are newer are so very much slower in throttle response and more sluggish in reacting to gas pedal.
I would guess that one had a few more Hp than the regular 72. Also, amazing how silent it still is on the inside! Rally driving in comfort so to speak.
My friends dad built a off-road buggy with 1989 420sel suspension parts, Volkswagen engine, and tractor parts. The thing handled bumps at 60mph like nothing was there.

my daily is 525tds e39 and 530d e39 , y sold 6 or 7 190d in Morroco , (2/year) 190d 75hp , yes it is "slow" but really a good car, y drive them from Holland to Morroco , couple of hours sleep at home in spain , and next day to Almeria on the boat , to be honnest , y loved to drive the190d ! in 2010 the king of morroco says stop ! cars older than 5 years from outside of morroco cannot be sold anymore
