I understand how tides and seasons work. The way the original comment is worded implies that the location doesn't EXIST not that it doesn't look the same as the pictures. I wanted to make a Lil joke out of it. Thank you for being so ready to educate tho! 😁
Ive been to mont saint michel twice and seen both types of scenery. Depending on the tide and time of year it really does change how the exterior plains look but the gothic architecture is always breathtaking
@@ThePopeOfAllDope You have to visit these places in May/June or September. It's like going to a restaurant 8pm Saturday night... usually not the best experience.
mont saint michel is legit, i went there in 2018. the lucious grass in the social media version is kinda exaggerated, as that area is flooded most of the time. the place is besutful, it looks and feels like your walking through a real life diagon alley.
same i went there around 2018 too but my most recent visit was in 2022. It’s not really how it used to be, it’s a lot more expensive now and different then before.
The actual draw to Mt Saint Michel is seeing it at high tide when its completely surrounded by water. Also as you walk up through the town it literally looks like a French version of Diagon Alley.
As someone who went to mont saint michel last year, it was all worth it. The reason why it looks gray and ‘boring’ in ‘reality’ is bc social media photoshops the shit out of it. Yes, it was super busy, but so is like every single big city that everyone loves. It looked super mystical and just straight out of a disney movie (fun fact: this town was actually used as base for the kingdom is tangled). There’s also like only a few tens of civilians and it’s just monks and nuns that you can see walking around the town. Also very cute tiny shops that literally just look per day when they’ll close. Very underrated town, highly recommended, super beautiful and old (it even still has a lot of intact builds from medieval times, like a drawbridge at the port). Ps: even just walk towards it and just seeing the beauty come closer and closer to you is such an experience
I went to the first one on a school trip. It's famous for the clay beach. My school went on it and 3 people fell over. One guy did the most cartoon slip and got covered in it 😭😭
@@Insanearcno dawg, what??? When you line up black men's hair, barbers sometimes make those lines to make sure the line up is straight. It's not a mask
@@Insanearclol no, he just created an artificial hairline in the mid if his forehead with his own hair(fringe). His actual hairline was way higher and he painted on his forehead to make it look more realistic, so when he lifted his fringe it looked really weird. But to be fair I always though those straight low hairlines looked ridiculous. Because mostly they are painted on. And who likes the look of half a forehead anyways? 😂😅
I was once at Mont Saint with my mother, brother, and grandmother And im telling you, its much more beautiful than you see even in such weather I dont care if its crowded cause it still was a beautiful view, and i even found an almost shaped like a sea conch shell. I kept it and it still remains as a memory i will remember
@@dinorex4105 it shure was nice I even was in the castle grounds, visited a graveyard, found a grey seagull and some cats, It also had a rocky beach with lots of stones and shells I even found a shell that looked like a sea conch And before entering the grounds of the castle, i walked 20 mins on a long beach with great views Tho you will have to walk a lot like i did
Go to mont saint michel during a storm, you might get stranded for safety but seeing the lightning through the old doorways and window is so beautiful, for a few seconds you go back to ancient times and you see the immensity of the sky (also, much less crowded in winter) (and make sure to support local artists)
Mt St Michel was one of the best views I've seen in my life. It was beautiful from a distance, and I was surprised with how large the abbey which made it feel not too crowded. I'd like to note: I did not expect green fields or anything. I just had my thoughts from watching a documentary about it in my high school French class. The drive through Normandy was beautiful too
I grew up next to the Mont Saint Michel. You have to pick the right time of year, time of day, and weather to go there. If you get a local guide and leave very early in the morning, you can walk there accross the sandy bay, and it is one of the most beautiful and serene experiences ever. If you go in July at 2pm with the shuttle, you will be disappointed because you will drown in the crowd, overheat and see nothing. Educate yourself. (Also don't buy anything there, it's not worth the money they charge)
The grass is called "pré-salé", it's used to feed ewes (which gives their milk a very specific, salty taste, used for cheeses for instance) and lambs, because it changes the taste of the meat. The reason you don't see it in the supposed "real images" is because it's out of season and filmed way too close to the Monastery, where the soil starts to become more like a beach than marshy terrain on which saltmarsh grass can grow
Actually I am French and the mont-Saint-Michel is every changing place who could you can change in a few hours the fields can look really different so that’s why on social media pictures it can work different than when you go that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t really look like that it’s it’s just at the fields has changed no big deal😂
Honestly, social media needs to stop recommendations. If you wanna find a place, go get a travel guide/read a book, go see it, take a picture and just keep it to yourself. Not everything has to be shown to people. Cherish it on your own.
I've been to Hitachi Seaside Park, which is featured in this video. But it can get very crowded during the peak season, so caution is necessary. You may end up seeing more of people's heads than flowers.
Went to Mt St Michel it’s beautiful inside and everywhere if you go at the right time. The grass also lies a bit further out from where the video is taken.
Ya because tourism makes places worse. I hate going to Banff now that it's full of people, Jasper is almost getting there but not to bad since it's farther from Calgary (most people visit over Edmonton area in Alberta)
@@Trevor.DionneDefinitely spring. The weather is nice, the scenery is nice with cherry blossoms blooming everywhere, and there are many spring themed goods in shops. Also April is the new year in Japan for many companies and schools instead of January (although of course there are proper celebrations for January.) Just don’t forget to do your own research on their culture first because a lot of things that are socially acceptable in the west are not in Japan. Japanese people generally have a negative opinion of foreigners (although that is beginning to change) because tourists are usually obnoxiously loud and rude and ignorant of Japanese manners. Have fun!
I've been to Mont Saint Michel on a school field trip. Craziest thing is that there are a plethora of blade shops and gifts stores selling gothic assortments. The steps are crazy up to the monastery ☠️
For the Mont Saint Michel, You should go to the fields a bit on the east, at the morning and if possible when the tide is high, outside of the touristic season… here it reveals its beauty
Hitachi park is great but you have to go veryyyy early on a weekday to get the right shots - after that the trains, road, and park get very crowded. I had to give up one year because we sat in the car on the motorway for two hours not moving 😢 I recommend in autumn instead when those blue flowers are replaced by red fluffy kochia and it's less crowded!
The storm spot in italy was cool but it was just a small room with 3-4 seats so if there was more people you just had people floating on the sides. It was also on a timer it seemed and only worked sometimes? The audio would cut out and the storm wouldnt last that long. Overall it was ok. Nice to see but italy had way more to offer than that storm room. The storm room was also part of a whole spa and the rest of the spa was pretty nice.
People really dont know this, but some tourist attractions are good and cool depending on what season it is, it could be good in winter and bad for summer, thats how it works its just that you came there in the wrong season of the place.
