Your reaction to this quest is what is wrong with this games community Your opinion to this would have been valid IF AND ONLY IF you paid $35 for just this gun... But you didn't... The steps of the quest while tedious served a purpose as an homage to what had to be done to get thorn which is what you are tracking.

I wish this was more story mission based. But they killed story before forsaken. And game is gone to shit's. I just hope shadowkeep gets better. And they say story missions are coming back. But looks like no details as of 1 wk out.

You can get larvae in escalation protocols and other the best weapon to use for the fourth step of the last word would be a scout or sniper rifle

Tbh the weapon is everything I hoped it would be. The questline was absolute garbage. Overall, the weapon gets a 9-9.5/10, but the quest gets a 4/10, and only that high because the final mission was really nice.

I mean I wish that to get the catalyst for the last word dropped and in order to complete it you gotta do the last mission (the draw part at the end before getting the Last Word) and go through like waves of that, and each wave is a certain percent of the catalyst.

The last word is amazing but most of the quest is annoying and clearly just filler.

Why is everyone complaining, saying that the crucible steps are hard? The last time I played crucible was for ace of spades when forsaken came out, and I did the entire last word quest in a sitting.

There is nothing wrong with using a wardcliff coil, 4-6 hunters, that's excessive. People dont understand that hunters arent the end all be all of crucible

I was hyped a bit for this, but in all honesty, the reason i played Destiny was to wait for kingdom hearts 3. And the quest dropped the same day as launch. So im just gonna play kh until i 100% it on the hardest difficulty lol.

The part where we have to kill 69 guardians took me 1 hour and the medals, etched crystals and hive worms took 2 hours sooo... In total: 3 hours of getting the last word Btw my name is paperboat567

Destiny is probably setting it up to where you actually have to defeat the weapon master who is trying to make thorn to get the thorn in season of the drifter instead of killing him for the last word

Maybe it's just me. But I am struggling hard on that crucible piece. It weeds out the weak among us lol

I get what ya mean, Chibi. We keep getting new things to work *for*, but not new things to work *with*. Play the same five Crucible maps a thousand times to get the Claymore. Now the same thing, but for the Mountain Top. Now do the same thing for the Last Word. Exact same five Crucible maps, but nothing new to play *with*, like a new map, a quest modifier ("Activate quest item to progress in quest, which gives you a boost for X but a debuff for Y"), progression dialogue ("Ikora says X when you are 50% done with the quest"), or actual STORY CONTENT (Vague hints and crumbs to going ons does not count). And what do we get at the end of it? A weapon that is kind of good, but pointless to the meta, and a long term grind that rages more than enjoys because it either takes a lot of effort for a little progress or your progress is easily diminished by other players whose skill level is outrageous compared to yours because the skill match system is still shit. Buuuuut this is the cheapest thing for Bungie to do 'cause cinematics and dialogue cost money, so they'll just keep pillow humping the nostalgia factor.
