Hey Amber! I would classify my husband a stage 2 or 3 alcoholic (which is crazy to even say). I told him this weekend that he’s no longer allowed to drink in the house (we have two young children). He understood although asked me if he could finish his bottle off first. I said, heck no. I dumped everything. Anyways, Monday-Wednesday he was in such good spirits, it was like his old self again. But he’s slipping back into a bad mood I can tell. He drinks because he claims it helps his chronic migraines and IBS. Is it normal for the addict to be in a bad mood during recovery?

Also-drinks due to “stress”. Work, kids and everything stresses him out. So I feel like he may use this “bad mood” to stress why he needs to drink again.

Yes, it's normal for a person to be moody, especially in the early stages.
