The Diaspora Africa Forum held a small ceremony to honour the late Harry Belafonte. Known for his work as an actor, singer, and civil rights activist, his daughter Gina Belafonte came to Ghana for the first time and paid tribute to him.
Love is not evil at all When strife is evil infected there can't be love I belong to Jesus Christ of Nazereth He led me away from you And anywhere but backwards God bless you and your family!
The Sankofa Wall was created to honour the legacy of ancestors. Those who made a significant impact in the Black community. Those who have a lasting legacy whether in the diaspora or on the African continent. The names of people like Harriet Tubman and Nelson Mandela are on this wall. Harry Belafonte was not only an actor but he was a Civil Rights Activist who worked alongside Martin Luther King Jr. His daughter came to Ghana and she is placing his name on the wall to honour his legacy. I hope that answers your question.
@@IvyProsper Asante for your response, my issue with H. Belafonte is his disloyalty to the Afrikan community! He saw no value in the Afrikan woman and chose a yurugu woman to marry. He believed that marriage to the Afrikan woman could and would not further his career! I again ask, why H. Belafonte? He walked with Dr. King, yes, public and false imaging is a most useful tool/weapon that europeans use to control the masses, and it has worked!!
