If you put yourself under the law, you fail the whole law for failing at all. And as a man in this world, I know my flesh lusts, and my spirit is able to overcome. We can't play stupid.

@@yankoek7171 Amen, as far as the "they that keep the commandments of God", John who wrote Revelation told us the Commandments of God, which are Faith and Love 1 John 3:23 "And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us" Let us remember that the Law is not of faith. This is why Jesus told Nicodemus he had to be born again. Jews born under the Law did not required faith, as their fleshly birth allowed them to be part of God's kingdom and it's promises. I believe Jesus simplified the 10 Commandments into 2.we can't break any of the 10 without breaking the 2 vice versa,10 Commandments are all though the New Testament, Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; Not to confuse with salvation Jesus Christ sacrifice did that.

They denied Christ coming in the flesh, it is why John opens by saying "we have looked at and touched- this we proclaim" He is speaking of Jesus Christ as the Gnostics denied Christ coming in the flesh during John's time, and they denied the reality of sin. It is why John invites them into fellowship 1 John 1:3 "We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us" The gospel of Jesus Christ is the testimony they been given since the beginning. Which includes Jesus's new commandment of Love John 13:34 "“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another" Jesus set up a new commandment of Love. Not like the 2 main commandments of "Love thy God" and "Love neighbor", because even though we are to do that, under the Old Law those two commandments that resume the Law are impossible for anyone to fulfill. It is why Jesus after speaking of the two greatest commandments, He follows with a parable of the good Samaritan, whom the jews passionately hated. They weren't ever committed to "Love thy neighbor" That implies loving the most despicable of people in the world. Let us remember Jesus spoke of those two greatest commandments before the Cross, before anyone had the Holy Spirit. So it's standard is impossible. Jesus being from Judah and not a Levite, He did not qualify to be a Priest over the Old Law When there is a change of Priesthood, there is also a change of Law, which is what Christ did Hebrews 7:12 Not only did the commandments were given only to Jews to expose their inability. It was given to increase sin, as Paul explains in Romans 7:10 the 10th commandment.. "The very commandment that promised life proved to be death to me" It was to increase sin so that grace would abound! I pray this helps a little! What are the "requirements and law to keep" exactly? Those who frequently make this assertion never provide an answer and if they do it's always a subjective response

And when you yourself break the law you tell yourself to be under, are you going to crucify Jesus again? When you look at a woman with lust IN YOUR HEART, you will be condemned to hell by your own works.
