I think Shelly was right. The Nyborgs were one of the leads, but Williamson knew beforehand that they were no good financially and gave the leads to Levine anyway. The leads were indeed weak. I think Mitch and Murray were downsizing with as little bloodshed as possible under the guise of a contest. Roma gets away easy since he was already closing to the point that his take-homes earned him a car.
Yeah, I think they were set up so the company could fire two of the weakest salesmen (they rather wanted them to quit, therefore pushing them and stressing them) and hire new fresh recruits/salesmen. The company "Mitch and Murray" wasn't doing so well lately and figured they had employees that weren't hungry anymore, so they went with this drastic method "competition". I guess the competition was a means to motivate them and hired Shithead to do the micro managament. After a while they sent in Baldwin to deliver the message close or get fired. They only wanted to give the good leads to the best closers to have a higher chance to sell more units, more money to the company.
Came here from 30 Rock, but only because I heard it from NOFX first, but I didn't know it was a movie quote. So, when I heard it on 30 Rock, I had to google who was quoting who, but it was neither. phew..
