I totally get people wanting a sewing machine for their leather projects. I love hand sewing saddle stich myself, it's what makes the project for me. That's what I tell myself. But if I wanted to be faster, and I had the space to have a sewing table out all the time, I'd likely invest in one. I guess you could add a stitch groove beforehand, still follow it with the machine and hammer down afterwards? No one would notice any difference 🤔😉 Oh I have a question... Does this have a serated feed under the needle foot to pull the work through? That bothers me for protecting the surface of the bottom leather piece. Any such issues?

Chuck great tutorial on the 303. I have to tell you after hand sewing 14 Sleigh Bell Straps I wish I had one of the 303’s. I hand sowed 5348 stitches. That’s a lot of stitches!! Best regards, Richard

I love my 303. It is simple to use and does a great job. I did have a couple of issues though. The safety guards do not fit the machine, therefore I could not install them. the other issue is why they included standard screwdrivers when all the screws on the machine are philips . Other than that, it is an awesome machine and well worth the money.

When winding a bobbin should remove the thread from the needle so you don't have a birds nest.

Chuck, I would love to see you sew up a laptop case using the 303 sewing machine. There are so many people saying you need a set up like the 205 to sew bags and cases. Is that true? I can see the pluses of using a 205 but the cost of a 205 puts the brakes on purchasing it.

this guy is enjoyable to watch, i like his energy. i also watch youtube at 2x speed so perhaps that has something to do with it!

A leather element on leather conditioner would be fantastic. I would particularly interested if you'd talk about the capabilities and use of the Oakwood or Fiebing's Aussie, but conditioner and conditioning in general would be great.

Does it come with the table? And can I use this for wallets belts and bags

Chuck, we need videos showing how to use sewing machines in making leather projects, like briefcases, laptop cases, wallets, etc. Most of the crafters were taught to sew by hand. If we step up to the use of a sewing machine it would be nice to see how we can use the sewing machine vs hand sewing.

How thick of leather will it sew? And a good topic is thread and needles and sizing! I am at a total loss when thread is out of the diameter for size, so I don't buy any unless it's states diameter. I've probably missed some good buys because I just don't understand the sizing of threads outside the diameter.

Gee, Chuck, why would I want this when I can go to T**dy and get half the machine for three times the price? Seriously, I wish I had room for this. It looks like a very well thought out system. One point: rather than glue, I would definitely recommend BLUE (not RED if you ever want to remove the screws) Loctite. I use both types on firearms for different applications, but mostly the BLUE because it can be broken loose with a screwdriver rather than a jackhammer. Great job showing how to thread the beast and thread and insert bobbins. That's going to prevent a lot of problems and disappointments. The ability to control the speed smoothly down to a snail's pace is a great feature.

I’ve been looking to upgrade from my Sailrite leather work machine, as it will not run size 138 thread. How close is the 303 to a cobra class 18, and will the 303 run 138 for top thread and bobbin?

I have an idea for you. The wide range of leather weights and uses, the compatibility - from hard wood to fine fabric .. leather inlay on wood furniture, to the fabric leather interface of garments.

I noticed this machine doesn’t have a sewing guide like the the Weaver Cub.

Can you use this machine for fabric. Not just leather

Good video...sort of. At the points where parts of the machine were mentioned, it would have helped to have an arrow or circle to show where an item can be found. In watching about the speed control, I watched three times and was not able to know where it was.
