This is such a wonderful and beautiful tribute to the "LEGEND and THE MAN" Keith Whitley! No, the memory and the music of this great singer will never die! Wonderfully done and such a heartfelt tribute by big brother Dwight! Rest in peace, you will always be loved and missed!
thanks for posting. ppl are missing out not hearing music like this these days. its bein pushed back way back on the shelf and it shouldn't be. good to see comments and see that some ppl are gettin a taste of what good music is.
I felt such a strong connection to Keith that I can't even begin to explain here...Over the years, after Keith passed, I was always being approached by total strangers who would tell me how much I resembled Keith Whitley...Beyond the physical thing though, my mother's family is from the West Virginia area bordering Kentucky's Eastern boundary, and I often wondered over the years, how wonderful it would be to find out that somehow I was related to the Whitley family...I remember the first time I ever heard about Keith, sadly enough, just happened quite by accident, as I was paging through the magazine, "Rolling Stone", and the magazine just opened up to the obituary page...And there was that one pic of Keith on his motor cycle, I believe, which instantly grabbed a hold of me...Mind ya'll, I had never heard a Keith Whitley song or even knew his name before that day in 1989, when my wife and kids visited the library and I picked up that "Rolling Stone" magazine...From that day forward, I felt this unexplainable bond between myself and Keith, which to this day has never gone away...I even named by youngest son after him...My wife and I split up many years ago, after she left me for another man after 18 years of marriage and six children. It tore me down so bad, I nearly drank myself to death a thousand times over, while listening to "I'm Over You"...I thank the Lord I survived those times, and my children (six) are all off on they're own now but every once in awhile, one of them will ask or say, "Hey Dad, ya still listening to "Don't Close Your Eyes", or "I'm Over You", which are my two favorite songs of Keith , and of course they already know the answer to they're question...Yep... Anyway, I apologize ya'll for getting off on a tangent there but I meant every word of what I wrote here and I still hope and pray that I could find out someday if there really was a deeper connection between myself, Keith and the Whitley family... May the Lord Bless ya'll every day and Keith, I'm still listening to you're songs buddy...
Can you send me a picture of it? Do you have your ticket? Email me at achildress111@gmail.com. I'm working with the Whitley's for a documentary on Keith's life and career.

Nice too hear clean clear pure voice singer. His voice is unpopular today with 50 notes a bar learned at- 50 notes a bar sqhools. How ya doing? Looking for the legend of the Kopitelli man. Kopitelli records* Herbie Mann's jazz 70's. ? Bought land in NM. starting label looking for a name, Came across a Petroglyph on a rock Playing a flute! Flute player named after the legend. Dout anyone knows that story, so you do, cool huh. But nothing! On the kop him self. I am blackfoot-qas is Said about the natives. Gibberish foolish crap from the white man's point of view. Nothing about us always about treaties. 247 to be exact none kept Seminoles in Florida only ones didn't sign a treaty. Because of the bush snakes 20 foot alligators they couldn't get too them..lol. 1990, black marketers tell me the legends. Because they're the ones that would know. Not textbooks the stuff is kept well-hidden cuz there's always treasure to be found. And sold and most likely hid destroyed or a weapon tech. The kop..he is that skeleton those party favor in China girls face as she's waving the flag and says, hey, not me. And the cope says Today, yes you I'm back. And that would be music#1 dragon. The boss of the 9, China's #1 dynasty, i. Pet goat! On you tube. Kop, invaded us natives, first national was Fremonts. Gyphmakers, not the 7 nations. Seeds, bent back brings is sexual orgies, hallucinogenics the evil spells on my people to cause Havoc jealousy greed and weakened us for the Takeover. Good old science plan 300 years right on the nose For us it was 500. + 2+1. Well anyway..bet thus came from no where..my commenting.. I was looking for something and you popped up. They must deserve to know lost history. I'm not here to BSU. I wish I was I wish I could say. Oh, yeah, this is all a joke and just all go away. It's my duty on Earth. And my time is short. So thank you. I enjoyed the song.
Lorrie should have stayed home with him instead of going on tour. Addiction or drug/alcohol abuse is never anyone else's fault but I believe he would be alive if she had put him first and not her career.
