"If Jack Black had magical powers he'd be Scanlan." Never a truer word was said.

Oh man, the Scanbo... _The_ SCANBO! This was nail biting tense in the campaign, a long ass prolonged battle between Sam and Matt, and though it was somewhat changed for this (like, of course, Scanlan already knew Polymorph before going in instead of having half-learned it a while ago), so much of it is spot on. Even the fucking fire potion, it was amazing when Sam got to the roof of the house after having raised hell and they all, collectively, realized he had gone to burn down the house WITHOUT BRINGING ANYTHING TO MAKE FIRE OR HAVING ANY FIRE SPELLS! The sudden realization when Sam was looking over his character sheet and went "wait a second, I have a potion of fire-breath" and everyone lost their mind when they realized it was all going to work out after all, oh god, one of the best early CR episodes

When Scanlan asked about the 6th barrel, notice how Percy's shadow is pointing it's barrel at Percy.

"Who's the sixth barrel for?" In the following shot, percy is pointing his gun up, but his shadow is pointing the gun at his own head.

Well I think Percy's father wasn't concerned with earning too much more money as he actually preferred to be over looked by the other noble houses, sadly his desire to be cut off mostly from all political activity and the affairs of the outside world is what made them such a tempting target for the Briarwoods and their allies.

You know what I really appreciate about all this? I'm pretty sure in all of known media there has never been another tale, where a hyper-sexual gnome has defeated an enemy by burning their house down while rampaging inside as a triceratops. Followed by dropping the main villain of the episode with a beam of lightning from their crotch. You gotta admit it's nothing if not original.

They kind of did Scanlan's mission backwards in the show. In the campaign he started by smashing his way through the front door as a triceratops and then fought his way to the roof setting things on fire as he went. Matt's "what the fuck?!" face reaction to Sam's "I turn into a triceratops" is one of my favorite moments in the first campaign.

I'm honestly so happy with the serie. A lot of henchmen never got their time to shine because of how quickly they were disposed of, so seeing them in an actual narrative is amazing.

I was waiting for this. When the cast first started their D&D campaign, several of them had not played D&D ever before. To create a character Scanlan's player (Sam) asked Vax's player (Liam) what the 'worst' race was and Liam said 'I don't know, probably a gnome' and then he asked for the 'worst' class and Liam said 'I don't know, Bard'. And thus Scanlan was born. So this moment was epic as the 'worst' race and class went solo into this mansion and accomplished his mission because the chances of him pulling this off alone based on his class looked very unlikely. So how it happened in the stream campaign you can see in this 30 minute clip here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eeBxr04FyYw.html To break it down for those who don't want to spend 30 minutes watching it, here is what happened: Scanlan wanted to go to one of the houses by himself. In the series they were going to 2 and the plan was in order to inspire the people to rise up by taking out top lieutenants of the briarwoods and signaling the residents to rise up by the mansions burning down. So he went to one of them and the rest of the party (5 of them) went to the other. So Scanlan uses his polymorph spell to change into a triceratops and bashes through the front door only to find Duke Vedmire and a bunch of guards with crossbows waiting for him on a second floor landing where they all shoot at him. With no where to go, he crashes through a door (it took 2 tries so he got shot at again) off to the left into a dining room and hides under a table. Bear in mind Scanlan can get out of this situation at any time because he has a spell that allows him to teleport up to 500 ft away. Bards don't have many direct damage spells as they are all about charming people and making illusions. Scanlan does have one direct damage spell due to a special class option but it wouldn't do enough damage fast enough to all of them if he used it and they have to be in a straight line to maximize the effect. As you can probably guess, the spell is a lightning bolt. But the player wants some action so he uses some spells to pin down the guards and Vedmire that surprisingly works for a round. You'd expect Vedmire to be able to resist the spell based on how it works but he does not. Scanlan is still outnumbered though and ultimately has to teleport to the roof of the house. Once there he now has to figure out how to set the place on fire. As a bard he has no magic that can create fire and the player says 'I don't know why I was sent here'. He probably was just being facetious though as he insisted on doing this on his own. Keyleth's player is rather incredulous 'How did this plan happen then?'. After checking his inventory, Scanlan's player realizes he has a potion of fire breath he has been holding onto for a long time so he uses it to start setting the place on fire. Then Duke Vedmire appears on the roof through a hatch Scanlan didn't spot (Scanlan's player rolled a 1 to spot anything up on the roof when he appeared there). At this point Scanlan is short on spells as in D&D you can only cast so many a day. Now think of this like MMORPG games where you have the caster vs a melee DPS and the melee DPS is in your face. You are gonna be toast. So the player frantically tries to think of how to deal with the Duke as he is trapped. Then he realizes what the spell called Bigby's Hand can do and uses it try shove Duke Vedmire away and off the roof. In D&D terms, this is a contested check of the Duke's strength vs the hand's strength. Naturally the Duke is strong so the player is a little worried. Scanlan's player rolls an 18 plus the hand's strength modifier which is 7 for a 25 total. And the DM rolls for the Duke and gets... a 1. The Duke goes flying 25 feet back and falls to the ground. They then make a mistake on how spells work in game terms. Technically speaking Scanlan could have teleported off the roof but they overlooked how you can use a higher level spell slot to cast lower level spells no matter what. So Scanlan's player decides to trust fall off the roof with the hand catching him at the bottom and thus 'Scanbo' is born as he single-handedly accomplished that mission while the 5 others went after the other mansion. It was an amazing moment in D&D terms and one people figured he was going to get killed trying, including me.

I love every single one of them, and I adore how well they play off of each other and individually, but Sam going Super Sayian and single handedly taking out an entire estate firmly cemented him as my favorite. Others have similar and truly amazing moments, but “there’s no gnome like our gnome”.

Scanlan "The Cube" Shorthalt. This is one of the moments I was hoping would be fully animated and it delivered. Watching the stream of this game live was so tense and seeing the rest of Vox Machina have to wait is a fun meta joke. Congrats on 100k! Well earned and much deserved

One of my preferred part of the reaction videos I'm seeing, is people reacting to the cliffangers of each episode, just like the cast reacted every time when the session ended: "Noooo!" So into it, that stopping the narration, hurts.

Shout out to the Olympus Lore t-shirt! I actually like how the incorporated the Dino in the story, as Scanlan did become a Dino but it was a bit of a question of how he know what that creature was. This time, he saw it in the creepy trophy room.

One of my favorite moments is when you saw the guards playing a session of D&D, because why the heck not. Also, I loved Scanlan's musical parts in this. I just wanna keep listening to them. Sam is such a showman, which just makes Scanlan so much more fun as a character. Also, Anders is going dooown!! Fuck that guy.

it was a very popular fan theory that the sixth barrel was for percy himself. taliesin said it wasn't technically canon but that he liked the idea, and percy's shadow in the scene where scanlan asks him who the sixth barrel is for suggests they're implying it was indeed for percy.

There's a running gag asking fans that the greatest enemy of Vox Machina is doors.

I liked how you reacted to the cliffhanger ending. Matt is known for that, he does his best to leave every episode of the streaming on a cliffhanger. Based on cast comments I think they (and the crew) have a love/hate relationship with the cliffhangers.

Regarding watching the live stream episodes, if I may suggest this: once the animated season is over, take a couple months off, and then start the live streams from episode 1 of campaign 1, doing 1 a week. That should take you through the rest of the year and almost up to the 2nd season release.

Be aware of the viewpoints of management when they're reticent to increase production dramatically. Does your facility have the necessary oversight to verify produced product doesn't "fall off the back of a truck"? Is there an inherent danger to the product that increased production may increase the risk catastrophe? Will increased production destabilize current markets and dimish the value of your assets?
