I'll know that a game has reached peak nostalgia when I start having vivid dreams about it, like in twilight princess, oot, ww, mm, etc etc. Not sure if it's happened with botw yet, but I'll think about a time and place in the game (like rito village during that "5 o' clock glow" or the beaches of hyrule as the sun rises, or that labrynth shrine island (top right akkala), and I immediately have that dreamlike dejavu, like I've been to these places before. I look at the windows of tarry town's houses, or hateno village, and it reminds me of super mario sunshine. I wander the snowy mountains of hebra or hyrule bridge, and it takes me back to twilight princess. I trod through the beach, and it feels like I'm in wind waker. The ruins of lon lon ranch and lost woods make me want to boot up oot. All these feelings give me so much nostalgia. I know I will feel this way about botw when we start playing Tears of the kingdom. It'll definitely be like that.
I didn't want to leave Rito Village. I absolutely love the Rito in BOTW and love this theme. Of all the tribes of Hyrule the Rito were the most pleasant and welcoming. Remixing the Dragon Roost Island theme into this and greatly improving upon the Rito, I just love everything about that part of the game.
@@spaceyale i think its kakariko. everyone knows your the champion and they treat you in one. its similar in zoras domain, except they hate you since they think you are responsible for miphas death
@@howlerr08 I find the fact that the Hateno people treating Link like just a normal guy is much more comforting than treating him like a hero. Always found that more welcoming... also he lives in Hateno
You know, this Game is one of the games that you wish you could erase your memory of and play for the first time again, I've played it so much that I'm kinda burnt out on it really. (TOTK feelings withheld)
I finally stated playing it a few weeks ago and guess what I didn't wnat to leave rito tho to be fair I grew up with wind waker so as u can tell my switch was loud enough to hear this theme my boyfriend looked at me fucking odd and my mum humed it she got it xd
@@kerrycherry3713 rito village is perfect. I figured Zora's domain would be my favorite, and I do love it, bit that song man. I wish rito village was bigger tho.
I grew up with Dragon Roost. When I heard this, I got so nostalgic I almost teared up. (I mean, I'd never do that because I'm so tough and strong, obviously!) Rito Village seems so simple, but then this song plays, and I'm gone again.
@@Perspective557 I really don't like BOTW OST, and yes i know the spongebob meme where it show a lot of "song" from the game, i already listen to them, and no, i don't like them.
@@Goudlock Everyone has different tastes, personally, i like this one. Dragon Roost Island is more adventurous, but this one is just nostalgic, reminiscing of ancient times, like the generation that played Wind Waker in their childhoods hearing this. It's all an art form whether one likes it or not
after fighting who? is this totk? did i just spoil myself of a possible beast that took over the village godammnit, also this is a botw ost, go to totks man...
I cannot describe the sensations and emotions that this beautiful theme triggers in me. It gives me goosebumps all over my body and makes me feel a sense of nostalgia unmatched by any other video game tune that I've ever heard. It is such a beautiful composition and I am truly amazed at how great musicians are the Japanese. Not only can they create extremely beautiful, entertaining games but they pour in some of their artistic talent into the game itself making it feel so much better. Thank you Nintendo and Hajime Wakai, Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata, and Koji Kondo for gifting us with such great compositions.
While I never played windwaker, I still hold this song close to me. If I didn’t know what to do, I’d go here (and Tarrey town) just to listen to the music. I love this game, this and many other games have inspired me! :)
I started playing BOTW on Friday. Finally got to Rito Village this morning. Took the long way, and I already have Vah Ruta and Mipha’s Grace. I wanted to reach Rito Village to come back after I’ve done the Gorons and Gerudo.
found myself whistling it today and i couldnt remember for the life of me which song it was, after a little digging here we are and yeah the memories that flood in from this. what a great time
I never noticed really, but the part just before it becomes a remix of Windwaker's Dragon Roost island is a snippet that is genuinely meant to be Revali's motif. He wasn't a royal Rito or even a leader, just a warrior that developed his special skill through gruesome hours of training. His home is part of him. And even though he's long gone and Link's memories are slowly returning to him, this song makes me think that he associates this place with a friend who has since passed away.
When you go to the Rito training area to get the swallow bow, the music that plays insude us a mix of Revalis theme and the main theme. I dont think any other location linked to the chanpions has the main themes morif mixed in there. Id like to think that Link really misses Revali
It’s the feeling of nostalgia when i hear this song. It reminds me when i heard this song in dragon roost island and when i played this game i was literally crying because of how much nostalgia and love i felt when i heard this song. It just brings back so many memories. Thank you nintendo!
Hits even harder because the song now feels deserved. You stopped the anomaly that caused the eternal blizzard, and now ritos don't have to leave their children alone to forage for food and resources. Tureli also grew up and was given Revali's bow, officially becoming his successor. It's a happy place now, all thanks to you.
this is literally just pulled right from a ghibli movie. like if this was put into a ghibli movie i wouldn't even question it because that is where it came from
You call him annoying, I call him a sexy bird with Beautiful flaws and a pretty voice, When you see his character development in botw 2, You'll change his mind about him, So shut up and enjoy the music revali haters!
It's so weird honestly. When BotW came out, I was 13 years old, and cried when I first heard Rito Village since the Dragon Roost Island theme and Wind Waker played a part of my childhood I thought I could never revisit (since our Wii broke and we sold our disc & GameCube controllers). Now, I'm 19 and feeling nostalgic over not just Dragon Roost and Wind Waker, but Rito Village itself and Breath of the Wild, not because I can't play Breath of the Wild anymore, but because times were simpler then. Feeling the hype for the game without the stresses of life on your back. I've already gone through and heard 'that' fight in Tears of the Kingdom, and I just wanna say that being a Zelda fan is such a different experience.
When I heard this song for the first time I felt goosebumps from head to toe, it was comforting, as if I had already visited this place before I had even played Wind Waker completely. Breath of the Wild is an incredible game, just like its ancestor Ocarina of Time, Breath managed to give a pure and renewed air to the Zelda franchise, I hope this franchise stays alive for many years to come, with each new game we will always wake up sleep like Link and begin our journey in Hyrule again and again, but we will never let our spirit of adventure die.
I discovered Zelda music almost 3 years ago. Never played the game before. I'm in shock about how good Zelda music is. Its funny. Never played the game, yet their music makes me feel emotional and gives me a sense of nostalgia which i can't explain. Truly extra ordinary and moves me to my core. I knew Zelda music was special when i heard 'Fairy Fountain' randomly on RU-vid. Now it seems that encounter was hardly random. For me, its much more.
Wind Waker isn't one of my favorite Zelda's, but Dragon Roost Island theme is one of my favorites in the series for sure. When the melody started I was awestruck. This game is so majestic
Every time i remember my first time here its sad because i never wanted to leave, but of course i needed revalis gale before i could. So sometimes i go here and also the flight range holding the great eagle bow (my fav bow because i just love its design) and relax Thank you great eagle bow, if i hadn't de equipped you and re equip you during death mountain, then i have no idea when i wouldve beaten BoTW. It prob would've taken extra days. Also thank you Revali for that ability, its super useful and fun for me to use. And don't you dare make me cry again! Edit: almost broken it in one of my botw copies but i still have it and never had to mend it.. man this game was so impactful
Listening to this brings me back to playing ocarina of time as a kid.. it’s beautiful. I’m so happy for the children that experience the world of zelda for the first time through botw. They’re gonna feel so much bliss listening to this soundtrack in 20 years and reliving the emotions.
dude i was just fucking around on the piano and suddenly accidentally played the main melody of this theme and i couldnt for the life of me remember which theme it was either way long story short i found it wahoo
@@abrahamponce4877 Agreed it's almost as if this is the aftermath version of what Dragon Roost Island would sound like after all of the events that took place in The Wind Waker...
Honestly? I have been a gamer for over 20 years, and I have also played games even older. Additionally, I am a fan of game music. And I think this is the best track in the history of gaming.
i would give up almost anything to erase my memory of this game so i could re-experience the game again. the first playthrough was filled with mystery, and a longing of wanting to know hyrules history. the emotions this game gave me are unmatched to any other game i have ever played. the music, cutscenes, story, and gameplay made this the best game i have ever played.
