Watch the mysterious trailer for The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom. Link has vanished and you play as Zelda in this new game. Strange rifts have appeared across the world and so it's up to you to work with your companion fairy, Tri, and use your Trirod as you set off on a journey across Hyrule to save the kingdom.
Check out this gameplay showing how Zelda's Trirod works using the echo ability. Create echoes of items as you make your way through Hyrule, throw rocks at enemies, and use monsters to fight for you.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be released on September 26, 2024 for Nintendo Switch.

Technically it wasn't the first time. Since you did get to play as Princess Zelda possessioning and controlling Phantom Knights during the Temple sections of the DS game LOZ the Spirit Tracks.

The fact that she has dialogue means she speaks…she has a mouth and speaks words to you. Im assuming by “mute” you mean “not voice acted”. The first game she had voiced dialogue was BotW.

Actually I'm a little worried, the last developer to make a Zelda game where you played as Zelda, killed him self due in part to the back lash he got for them being soooo bad. This looks fun though.

Ok. We have some new and inventive way of navigating and tackling puzzles. On top of it a twist: we play as Zelda with a magical staff that works pretty much as a Pokeball catching everything. Well, gotta catch' em all.
