Chicken Pealla
Ingredient List:
Five chicken legs
Three cups of rice (baldo)
Two onions
Three cloves of garlic
A bowl of peas
A bowl of fresh beans
One red pepper
A teaspoon of saffron
Two teaspoons of turmeric
A teacup of olive oil
1.5 coffee spoons of salt
A teaspoon of black pepper
2 liters of hot water in total
Preparation:
We cut the chicken leg in two pieces and wash it, then dry it well, we place it in the pan with the skin side facing pan's surface, without adding any oil, we fry it till it gets very red. We sprinkle a little salt on both sides. We take them off the pan, put chopped onions in, add garlic and pour some olive oil. We fry them. Add peas, beans, red peppers, and then fry them well. After they're done frying we take them off the pan as well. We take the chickens back into the pan, put water on it (as high as they get covered with water) and boil it for 10-15 minutes on high heat. Then we pour rice in between, add fried vegetables in and add saffron, turmeric and salt. It is cooked for 20 minutes on low heat without the lid on. After turning off the stove we cover it with aluminum foil or baking paper as I've showed in the video, and brew it for while. Then it is ready to serve! It's very delicious. You can try it too.
