The Legends of Arkain: The True Story 6.4 - A Matter of Faith 

More pathing challenges in small passageways, this time in an underground swamp. I take Haran'tel's leadership boni since the only other time it is available to use later has it conflicting with another I prefer to show off. Ornasion's boni that buffs Deathguard damage would only get limited value here since melee units get stuck due to the terrain and unable to attack, similar to Elves of the Deep. Harantel's boni gets us Broodmothers: powerful ranged units with the Parasite spell. The Unyielding is back; a solid demihero that I manage to hold onto for the entire map. Basically every patch of mushrooms has Sludges behind them as we mass harvest for lumber. It is not even particularly worth trying to preempt these because there are so many, so I mostly react as they pop up. Getting fast Obsidian Statues and Meat Wagons allows me to challenge the Cave Orcs quickly. This is a long map and the sooner we secure our entire side of the map outside the enemy fortress, the smoother the path towards mass lumber collection becomes. As usual, Spiked Barricades are a menace to your heroes and melee units. Pentiss's ultimate is key to breaking these bases along with all the AOE at our disposal. From here it is possible to sit outside the fortress, intercept all enemy attacks from this one spot, and otherwise harvest lumber for the Peacemaker. The outermost enemy production structures in the fortress drop some measly tomes, so I arduously make my way in and destroy them. It is an awful journey through a very small hallway where the enemy can reinforce quick enough to keep me stuck in there. It's generally not worth it and I would not recommend it, though I get the tomes and some extra dialogue from Quiraness. The Giant Sludge Optional Objective gets you a friendly, slightly smaller Sludge and some items. I sit and wait for lumber and deploy the Peacemaker. Quiraness spawns units to storm out of the fortress, which can be caught in the very chokepoint I struggled through earlier. If you manage to wipe the whole fortress instead then the map also would end, though the Red base is even harder to break into.

It's so funny how the cave orcs think they can have a chance of allying with Ornasion

Ornasion clearly hates the Dark Elves coz they remind him of Demons
