The Legends of Arkain: The True Story 6.6 - Lord of Shadows 

This map is Kome on steroids without heroes... it is the longest mission/video where cinematics cannot even be blamed. While we have no true hero, Clarie Greendale and Zed are resummonable at the Alter and this is the only map where Elites are trainable, albeit for a costly 7 food. The leadership boni choices either buff Elite damage or health. These are both fine and I take the health to have a little extra frontline longevity. The enemy fortress has trebuchets, a lot of preplaced units, and a high number of production structures to rebuild defensive units from multiple directions. Grueling attrition is the intended method here and there is no effective alternative. Blue must fall first for an extra gold mine as early as possible. My ally sends a fairly early attack wave and I use this to push through by building some early Catapults and Banishers. I think this is the first mission where Banishers are available and their Mastery training allows them to cast a powerful Chain Heal. Make sure to turn off the Faerie Fire autocast they spawn with as to have mana for the heal instead. I simultaneously set up better lumber harvesting to the right outside my base, build more nestled towers to defend against Orange and Teal, and send Shadows down to eliminate the trebuchets. It is important to start working on this Optional Objective as early as possible to get any real value out of the captured trebuchets. Shadows cost a lot of food that I cannot afford to spare, so getting my starting two down there gives them a lot of time to chip away at the defenders. These two Shadows can kill everything eventually except for a few Pegasus, it just takes a very long time. Back to the Zirr base, it is not easy and it may be worth waiting for you ally's second attack wave before trying to push in. Elites are also quite challenging to see visually when on blight. Thankfully, this base is guaranteed safe from enemy attack waves and defense can be focused on the high ground of your main base. My Shadows have removed the trebuchets by now, allowing me to approach and set up forward production outside of the rightmost main entrance. The Orange base is spread throughout the entire middle of the fortress and there is not a great way to approach it. I choose to go for the area with their Castle knowing the production all along the left will nonstop flood reinforcing defenders. An alternative would be to start from the left and secure the captured trebuchets, which can then be used to attack Orange's main base area. The challenge there is dealing with much larger rebuilt defensive forces along the way as opposed to shutting them down quickly via Castle and Peasant destruction. Your Ironfist ally might be helpful if you are lucky, but these large fortress siege maps are notorious for allies being unpredictable and inconsistent. They do help me with Blue , Orange, and a bit with Teal, so I can't complain. With Orange gone, the temperature lowers a bit and a third gold mine comes under my control. The enemy attack waves are never really a problem here, but making offensive progress is much more difficult than other maps. The Teal controlled section is next and it can be very challenging due to powerful preplaced Purple units - including The Fleshtearer - and more trebuchets that cover the entire bottom part of the base. I first peel away the preplaced Splecir stuff before reinforcing and attacking the base from the top. Getting to and destroying the next set of trebuchets has no great strategy. They are heavily defended and there are towers with True Sight. Once these are down, the next Optional Objective is nearby which nets a group of Elites that do not add to your food cap! Mayor Kent and his huge group of surrounding guards go down and the hardest part of the map begins. Brian becomes a usable hero with a great ultimate, but is otherwise pretty fragile at this early point. I set up forward production with a bunch of towers and prepare for what is the most difficult offensive in the campaign. There are two bases with overlapping structures, therefore their defensive forces will both be pulled together. The Fallen Order of the Frost has an unconscionable number of production structures and will rebuild to the food cap immediately. It takes me two runs at it, but I am able to break Grey by chipping away at Pink's nearby structures in the first ruin, so that their defensive units do not react as early to me in the second attempt. I engage a bit farther in with my beefier frontliners as to distract for my Catapults to cripple Grey on the second push. Shadows are changed during this part of the map and now have Taunt, which I use a bit to kite defenders around and buy more time. With Pink now isolated, it is a bit of a lengthy cleanup of all their structures, but victory is secured.

The hardest maps that ever exist on the true story or the second book. I need people who beat this map on hard difficulty a crown of kings

Notes on this map: There's a bunch of enemy shades all over the place, if you spam Arcane Towers to reveal and pick them off with the Shadow Stalkers throughout both the left and right bases. Once all the Shades have been successfully sniped off, it makes destroying them a lot easier with invisible units
