@@ThrowToTheWolves compared to old grey, it has more blue in the colour composition. it's not just plain grey with all neutral colours but has a blue tint. blue tints on greys and even whites is usually done to make it look more cleaner and colder medium stone grey does sound better
It was a good call for LEGO to go with the red bridges. Its easier to modify them to be grey if you wish, as the grey parts are more common and most people would already have them in their collection versus the red.
I actually never noticed that the red bridges were only unique to the flagship until now. I love these mod videos and would love to see more content like this in the future. ^_^
The imperial set looks awesome dude. Think it’s actually my favourite. Could be something in this for Lego. They could sell a set as an ‘add on’ pack. This could give you the pieces to turn it into an alternative version, plus to make it more appealing they could throw in some minifigures like the three you picked out (maybe some custom printing etc so they’re unique).
But why aren't they doing just like the Technics 2 in 1? It's basically the same concept, just instead of another entire build, they just add some specific pieces in another color and we could get some versions of that Venator, which would be neat.
No joke, the normal basic venator look way better than the grey version. It's so iconic with the dark red and the red cockpit mean that it's a Jedi's venator and it's just soo cool
If I was to buy this set I would definitely be tempted to switch out the bridges and add to the red line to make it more like the ones seen in the Prequels.
Dude I just got back into your vids! Im so happy to see you posting. I watched all of your mach vids when I was 8 years old and now eight years later just got back into legos and Starwars! StarWars and your videos were huge in my childhood so thanks!
Still need to fix those tiles and clips on the bridges. There's got to be a way to do that without using an illegal technique because I don't care if LEGO says that it's okay now, nothing will make me trust that connection. While we are about 10 years into that being a technique that has been used in sets infrequently and almost exclusively for collector's items, I bet those clips are forever warped if you leave them together for that long, as most UCS sets would be.
Ingenious stuff. Fun fact: In the clone wars, the Venators we typically see usually has two different color variants. Both has the big red stripe down the middle of course, but the command ship had 5 stripes on each wing, and red command bridges, while the other had 3 stripes per wing and gray command bridges. Interestingly enough, the Revenge of the Sith version we see has 5 red stripes and gray bridges. And some of the Venators in the background shots even lack the Open Circle Armada logos as seen during the battle of Coruscant. And I don't know if that was intentionally done, but it certainly makes sense, as not all those Venators present at that battle was part of the Open Circle Armada, some were from the Coruscant defense fleet.
@@TheTrytix I did check, although it appears that it’s only on the right wing (the ship’s right) that has the 3. You can see it when it gets blown up, but the left seems to have 5. It’s quite confusing.
@@YD_. Alright, after having checked out entire episodes, looking for the Negotiator, during the episode "Bound of Rescue" where the ship in question gets obliterated, turns out, for whatever reason, the Negotiator there has white bridges and 3 stripes on each wing... In other words, at some point in time, the Negotiator seem to have undergone a new paint job.
Can you plz make a ROTS conversion and do all of the different details correct? Like the flat hanger, one more angle on the tower, longer bridges, two more engines, more detailed backside of the tower, replacing the logo, remove all the dark blueish grey details, and even change the design of the red strip on the bottom side?
I can’t unsee it. Wow that looks great. But I agree with some people that the color swap options and dare I say the extra figures would have been sweet
I was going to just mod the bridge to the light bluish grey... But I REALLY love the Imperial Venator livery. So yeah, I'm dumping ALL the red, not bothering with the ugly sticker (win-win) and just building the Imperial Version from the get go once I get my copy. Long live the Empire.
A few more modifications are required to make it into an Episode III version. The long dorsal doors should be flat. There another pair of engines added to the rear. The long barreled cannons on the side need to be moved closer to the front. Some of the details between the turbo laser turrets need to changed (to much to write it all out.) And just smoother hull paneling.
Hi, As a reminder, to my knowledge, only one building of this type had red bridges and it was the ship of Anakin. This is especially true because we have the figurines of Captain Rex, who followed Ahsoka and Anakin as well as Wulf Yularen who was the admiral of Anakin’s ship. That’s why I think this Venator is the "RESOLUTE"
You gotta buy a 4th so you can hang it on a wall and have the venator crashing from the last episode of the clone wars. Add some cloud and smoke pieces and break off some of the engines. Add a little Rex's y wing, too
I love the UCS Venator and I like the Imperial modification which I might try one day if I get another UCS Venator, just to have both styles. I also wanted to go fantasy and make a special 501st Legion Venator by replacing all the red tiles with blue ones.
These look neat i love how the imperial one looks and the regular vendor just makes me think of the opening to revenge of the sith they look great i have to buy atleast 3 of the venator just to have all variants
I really hated this set, because i hate the overall look of the venator, but when i saw just plain version, all gray... I said, o my fu***ing god, i want this.
Kind of a random request but I’ve never seen a LEGO creator make a fleet battle moc. It would be interesting to see how one would go about building that and I think you would be the person with that creative ability
These are some very soild options especially the imperial one looks great. I personally am still looking for a design to replace the main turrets. Maybe even put some ISD 1 turbolasers on there and turn it into the liberation.
imperial venator was goated if i was you with 3 one would have to stay grey that shit is fire if they released that with those figures people would have lost their mind
Lego could've thought this through a little better and provide optional parts for different variants, just like they did with color stripes on the Icons Camaro.
I prefer the Imperial version of the Venator better in the movies and Bad Batch series, but in Lego is cooler but I just need certain pieces to make it.
prequel era starships needs more love, we got several imperial star destroyer but only 1 venator (this USC is the 2nd) but literaly nothing other than the Malavolence lego could make a UCS version of the acclemator landing ship Attack of the clones or/and the Invinsible hand, Grievous' flagship from Revenge of the sith
The symbols on the side, are unique to the commander or admiral in charge of the Venator. For example, that is Yularen's, while Tarkin would have a different symbol.
Maybe u could do a mod where you switch out some of the dark bluish gray details with light bluish grey to give it a more clean look. in my opinion theres way too much dark gray and it doesnt look accurate.
Neat and easy mods. I will say the Imperial version looks rather lifeless to me but still it shows the mod is very easy to replace the parts and still fits overall. Looking forward to getting a copy when the set drops for the public. Maybe try I'll try a Republic blue for the stripes/bridge.
