Brother Don Cornelius phenomenal and producing and hosting Soul Train. What a sad lost to a great host of a show uplifting as well as entertaining Africans in USA. RIP Brother Don Cornelius
He entertained all of us, not just African Americans, Kwame. So sad. Today is the first time I learned of his tragic suicide. Such a waste of a beloved person, despite his transgressions with his wife :(
Don was gifted, intelligent, streetwise tall/fine and savy with a mellowed, sexy vibe, I dug his sweet moves down the S. T line!!!! We all loved Don, he brought us something special with Soul Train, the talented, beautiful, gifted and Black, we had a ball with Soul Train, the grooves kept us pretty slim!!!!! Goodnight Don, you have remained indelibly etched in our hearts, rest in the peace of paradise!!!!!
Growing up in NYC in the 60s/70's when Soul Train came up..., my friends and I locked into it. Soul Train was our favorite TV show for Music. But I also watched what my parents were seeing from the Spanish station based in Puerto Rico for our Latin/Salsa style bands and songs which was shown a week later in NYC... LOL!!! In Black/White No color TV... for us.. !!! I did not bother seeing any that was American Bandstand growing up and as I got older... LOL!! When I join US Navy in 76'... We would watch a week later also in Hawaii... They were just getting to playing the Disco style music, I got lucky to be stationed at Pearl Harbor, Going to clubs like Spats (my regular spot), Da Sting, Valentino's, etc.. and for the record (No Pun) Disco style is really Soul Music, the change was the Latin percussion drums came to play into along with the Sou music later in the 70-80's Thanks to Don Cornelius staying the course in American History. (He...? probably serves with my dad, In Korea... also...!? 🙏
@dboygamer8184 I'm a black woman myself. I just feel my heart drop every time a black man is involved in this type of horrible deed. No, I'm not a racist as I wish our black men not be a part of abuse towards us black women all the time. Sad situation indeed
