I was born 1966 in the 70s soul trains was a big deal in my household I will call my best friend Jackie and say hey girl you see Aretha Franklin she on right now the Jackson fives we was able to see the shows because of Don Cornelius
RIP Soul Train and Mr DonCornelius . It was such a joy growing up with you and your show you gave my family and my self such joy and entertainment! You and Soul Train will always have a special place in my heart ❤
I also remember as a kid in the 70's looking forward to watching and watching Soul Train @12pm on Saturday . I loved it . Learning how to dance because of Soooul Train! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You remember that he was a private person. When he married pretenders like snow people that wanted to suck all his money after a few years of marriage, at time, he had no more privacy.
@@RebelLife77 I don't have a answer at this point but where there's a will there's a way. Some entertainer's do keep their lives private and when the paparazzi can't find anything they just make it up I feel whatever the celebrity's do is their business not the Whole World.
Wow! So sad! Every time I would watch the show, Don Cornelius always looked so classy and sharp! And he was such a natural at what he did!😢😢 What a loss!😢😢
He was one of the greatest African American entertainers who brought some of the greatest music to our lifes on Saturday mornings. Black music will never be the same without him and his contributions which were tastful and timeless for any generation in American television.
Yes I remember getting ready for Saturday night and watching soul train that morning so we knew what to wear and what dances are hots I appreciate everything this man has done in our lives rest in peace my brother you did it ❤❤😊
Love, Honor and Respect to Don Cornelius because he his one greatest Black Business Owners in America. In fact, Soul Train as broke down color barriers and discrimination against the Black Race. Thank God for Don Cornelius a Black Man who gave Black People the opportunity to be Black Entreprenueres.
I loved Soul Train. I watched it every Saturday at 12 pm. Learned some of the dance moves soul train was truly us in a positive way and nothing negative the way they portrayed our people. RIP Don Cornelius will always be remembered 😢 💔 🙏🏾
I consider myself lucky to have grown up in a neighborhood that was predominantly black. My family was the only Mexican family in the neighborhood. My best friends whom I considered my sisters really shared their culture with me and my family. I will always consider myself as partially black. My heart is black and my skin is brown. I always stand with my black sisters and brothers in god. To my best friends Faye and Ruthie you both had a positive impact on my life. You both were very supportive of me when I was suffering from abuse. You guys held me when I cried. Both of you were more like my sisters than my blood sisters. I will always love you both.
Soul Train Gave Us Life!! I Miss The 70's!! As A People We Became More Aware Of Who We Are, And The Power, Beauty, And Intelligence We Process..I Love My People..United We Stand Divided We Fall ✊🏾🤎🖤
Thank you Don Cornelious for all you did for our people! Still today, a party ain’t a party unless we’re doing the Soul Train Line! 🥰 RIP my Soul Brother! ✊🏾😘
I remember when Soul Train was here in Chicago downtown on Michigan st, channel 26 , every Friday night we use to go on Soul train its was so small, that why he moved to California, I wish I had a tape so I can show my kids, grandkids, & great grand kids, we had fun & Mr, Don Cornelius was so awesome & amazing we all love him & miss his, rest well DON 😢🕊️😇💐 ms, Theresa Bryant❤❤
I remember Soul Train can't on at 5:00 on Saturdays in Philly in 1971. We drove to VA one night and it was on at 1:00 in the morning. Blew my little mind.
I GRADUATED FROM COMPTON SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN CLASS OF 71!...JUST SO YOU KNOW THERE WERE ALSO DANCERS FROM COMPTON SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL OF COMPTON, CA. AS WELL!...SUCH AS EDITH LYNN PICKENS AND THE RICE BROTHERS WHO WERE TWINS!...I AM JUST SAYING!...R.I.P. DON YOU WERE THE MAN AT THAT TIME!...GOD BLESS! 😇
@@murieljames4022..."LOCK, CRENSHAW AND DORSEY" WERE THE HIGH SCHOOL'S THE HOST MENTIONED AT TIME LINE 9:37!...I AM JUST SAYING!...GOD BLESS THE COMPTON TARBABES! 😇
💖✨💖✨ Tar Babe 1986 ✨💖✨💖 Saturday mornings in Compton were Captain Crunch cereal, Fat Albert cartoons, and Soul Train!! Football games at Gonzales Park, Jim Burgers, in the afternoon. And maybe a movie at the Compton Drive-in at night!! ✨ Man-Oh-Man the time... The Afro's and the clock shoes with bail-bottom pants! EVERYBODY'S Mama was a good cook. Street gangs fought with bats, bricks, chains, and pocket knives. I remember it ALL-- from "Now & Laters" hard candy to Parliament & FUNK-a-DELIC ... Being Black back then was a very different kind of an experience. 🤔 And truthfully... none of it would have ever meant ANYTHING without SOUL TRAIN!!!
I ❤ Soul Train. When I was a little girl Soul Train was in Chicago. I had 2 uncles that danced on Soul Train in Chicago. They danced and were tapped on Shows. They would tell the Family what Saturday they would be on. My Family was so excited. We would all sit around the television and watch them.
Grew up watching it. Every Saturday learn how to dance from a young girl to a young woman I'm 67 & still cutting up. ❤❤ Dancing is a gate way to your soul❤ ❤️ music & dancing can keep u healthy & happy
Thank you, Don Cornelius for the love of our people every Saturday we will wake up we wouldn’t go outside. It’s a soul train. Come on and go off. Thank you so much for the show that was so popular in my house and made us so proud to be black.
1 thing for sure that's true is how no matter what we see, the level of success, and the legacy they create at the end of the day they're still human with struggles and demons they're battling. But, no matter what he'l was amazing, broke barriers, and has a fanbase that spans generations in our families.
All my family, friends and neighbors, we all loved soul trains on Saturday. It was all the way live! A wonderful time in my young life my family and friends never missed it. Being from Augusta, GA class of ‘71…I never missed the dance experience of Soul Train! It was so awesome!! Yes, I had the rare privilege of finally meeting our hometown gentleman, Mr. James Brown, Godfather of Soul. It was at the local Bushfield airport about two years before he passed away. He exuded happiness, hospitality, and kindness with such an aura….a spiritual moment for this Caucasian gal. My life is complete. Rest in Peace. We miss you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
ABS was like bubble gum entertainment compaired to soul train. It was night and day difference. Could you just imagine an ABS equivalent to a soul train line😂😂
