In Episode 1 of 2, Mike and Eli visit Dr. Greg Rose at the Titleist Performance Institute where Mike learns how to use to properly use the ground to gain power and help with (gulp) early extension.
10/10 - my life will never be the same. I’m absolutely no better at golf but my wife declared “this is the last straw” and took the kids upstate to stay with her mother when she walked in on me scooting around our living room while I squealed like a school girl. LGLG
I started to type... and read your post and decided not to post because you win... well done Nick hope the driver makes you as happy as your new found free time without the wife and kids! LGLG
Everyone knows bathroom time is spent looking through your most important emails, tweets, etc. This video changed my life so much I found myself pushing with my left foot while on the porcelain fountain!
WOW. Thank you!!! I've been trying for YEARS to figure out how to "use the ground" in my swing. I never understood it. For 40 years ALL my weight has always ended up on my right foot after every swing. I had no idea how people (long drivers) swung a golf club with their left foot coming off the ground. After watching the first minute of this video and seeing the rolling chair .. I got it!!! I just turned 50 and I've been playing for 40 years. Im a +1 but never been able to get over 100 swing speed. Got on trackman after seeing this and hit 107!! I haven't been this excited in years 😂😂. Thank you for simplifying this for me!
15/10. I’m 38 and played golf for 35 years. I’ve been all-State in highschool and played a bit in college. Not once have I ever thought about my left foot. Ever. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that. My father hasn’t thought about his left foot either.) my mind is blown and I was rolling around the kitchen in a rolling chair. I’m in. Let’s go let’s go.
11/10 - Everything about my life has changed because of this move. Not only am I seeing more power in my golf swing, but I am now using ground forces in every day life. I am pushing off from the kitchen floor when beating my eggs on the morning, and my scrambled egg efficiency has increased tenfold. I am now more open to my target when weed whacking my lawn, which has created some interesting weedeater string divots in my Bermuda, but the HOA is no longer unhappy with my overgrown weed situation. Ground forces have led to new, interesting angles of lovemaking and my wife has never been happier.
Incredibly informative!! I bet 99% of recreational golfers, including myself, go from shifting their weight laterally to rotation then rock and roll rather than shift rock and roll then rotate.
11 pm. I should be asleep. Instead I’m paying expedited shipping for an 85 dollar roller stool. 20 extra dollars so I can roll around on a stool in my garage this Saturday instead of next Tuesday.
I know golf instructors will often say “use the ground” but I think that message is misunderstood and I never truly realized how hard I needed to push with my left foot till now. This lesson is a game changer for myself and others. Thanks for putting this out there, would love to see a follow up. Great job guys!
The feeling of slamming on the handbrake and posting up on the lead leg is the most vital move in the swing. It is pure power. This turned me from a 4-5 handicap to a consistent +2. 1:28 is just beautiful rotation. Pure power and speed right there. Ball strikers’ dream. ❤
Wow... that's one of those "lightbulb" moments... Love his 4 movements during the swing.. Lateral shift, rock n roll, twist, Jump.. I definitely Twist 2nd too like Mike. Can't wait to get to the range after seeing this to try work on this.
10/10 Life Changing Event, I'm in the process of divorcing my wife and putting my unborn children up for adoption to visit Dr Greggers Rose for that left foot magic.
Had a rotary stool that was narrow based… tried to do the drill before I got to the end of the video and it slipped up underneath me and I will now see Dr. Greggers, not for golf, but for my broken back I just got. 10/10 life change I would say.
3.14/10 because just like when I learned pi in high school, this is something I know is really important but I have never figured out how to actually use it in real life. Great… now I want pie. Sincerely, Kevin Malone
10/10. That was a Ted Lasso-level inspiring game-changer, making his miraculous turnarounds look like child's play. In the words of Coach Lasso himself, “Taking on a challenge is a lot like riding a horse, isn’t it? If you’re comfortable while you’re doing it, you’re probably doing it wrong.” UPDATE: 10/10 while watching the video; -10/10 after trying it out on the range. I have more swing thoughts in my head than the Velcro-inspired rant from Eli (circa season 2). Will try again in the off-season!
God I wish I had a coach like this years ago. I got to a plus handicap without this move. Short hitter, flippy, but made it work. A few months ago I figured out this move and suddenly I'm hitting it miles further than I ever have before. Such a good lesson and given in a great way by an obviously skilled coach.
Crazy good stuff!! I just went into my man cave and hit balls on the sim for over an hour and my numbers are way up! The feel of leaning to the left and pushing forward and off the left foot is adding so much power. Thanks for the vid
8/10 life changing. The left foot technique was awesome to watch and learn, the two point deduction is due to my husband annoying me every day about commenting on this video. I can't wait to win the driver, never let him use it, and then start my own podcast about how I became a scratch golfer with a TSR Titleist driver. Thanks!
Sooooooo. Mike that look on your face is pure astonishment when you know you have a missing piece, pure holy grail WOW that felt awesome, can't believe I can really do this moment, I need to hug this dude. LET ME LOOSE ON THE COURSE BABY. Fabulous to watch. Now having tried it I need to hug this Guy Too. Nothing else for it. pure emotion 😍😁
5/10, I have what you guys would call “major” tomorrow our bois annual golf trip…. so exactly what I need is a video to make me re evaluate my swing the day before! Cmon Rick 😂
I already avg 4 - 5 birdies a round, so I was skeptical about this technique offering my game anything special.. so I did a field test on my local 9 hole course.. I was wrong.. first I took it to the range until I got the feel.. then out to the course where I gained 20 yds or more on every drive.. even a 325 yds drive to a par 4 green!! This made it a lot easier to shoot even lower scores, easily getting up and down with my short game.. The result, my best round ever there with an 8 under 25!! just missing one, putt on a par 3.. which just grazed the right edge.. Thank you, Dr. Rose! Wow, I am on a golf high all day.. I am usually worn out hitting 280+ drives all day.. my usual is, 250 carry and 277.. but Damn! the title says it all, it's a game changer.. and u can shape the shots and control trajectory as well.. by timing or applying varying degrees of the 4 driver swing components, but only thing this video does not focus on are: compression, angle of attack and swing path which are equally important to getting the most out of these type of shots shots and taking ur game to another level.. the science and physics is solid.. it is truly and legit method / revelation!
"Don't Go Chasing Scratch" - Lisa "Left Foot" Lopes I seen a high draw yesterday, but too many swing thoughts Have come and gone, leaving a trace of not one fairway Is it because my second shot is a slinging hook and I pray To end up near the green, seldom praise the smarter play Sherman’s promise is true, only quickcrete can undo The many chances I blew to bring my score under 72 But Prime eligible rotary stools Have put my force in the ground, no more inside approach tools The only candidate for the folks who can't rotate With such a dormant left cheek that it keeps their ball flights weak Who's to blame for scooping and swaying into your own game? What a shame, you shoot and aim for a sucker pin and spiral down the drain You claim the Steady Eddy, and play the forward tees To game the loophole I say the GHIN’s got you victim to the wrong goal Scratch is a way of life in hopes of coming true Believe in Adamway and TPI, the rest is up to me and you Life changed 10/10, became a golf-oriented parody rapper
I would love to see the entire unedited version of this video 🙏🏻 Since finding it last night I’ve watched it at least 10x The information is priceless Thanks for putting it out there 👍
I have been playing golf for 55 years and during that time heard “use the ground” and “post-up on your left leg” but never had anyone give me a tactile example of what that means until now. Though the brain still thinks in terms of a teenager (just ask my wife), this injured 62-year-old body has lost strength/ flexibility and hence distance. Anything that can bring back some distance combined with consistency can’t be measured on a simple scale of one to ten - if you need a number, put me down for a ten. Dr. Rose great job in converting some nebulous thoughts into physical actions.
10/10 - There I was going through my work emails ("swish, swish"), when I got an unexpected text from my buddy encouraging me to watch this video. Here's part of his message: "Rob, do you want to hear a scary story? Greg's video basically saved my life. I was literally in the gutter and it was gambling, drugs, women, and lotto (well that's basically gambling). I was looking the grim reaper in his eyes...and then I was saved by watching this video." You can imagine the emotions running through me when I received that text. Inspired by my favorite "football" coach, I immediately responded that, in an act of solidarity I would watch the entire video without using my hands (which apparently is perfectly legal). Anyhow, I give this life-saving video a 10 only because I can't give it an 11! Greg is an excellent teacher and I have a knowingness inside of me that this will also help me with my 2-way misses.
This is an 11 out of 10...I have been struggling with my left hip on the backswing and this move will 100% change my life. I have a stool on order as we speak!
10/10 life changing. Now desperately trying to work out how to integrate the purchase of a rotating stool! Great to see how much pleasure this give you, which you then share.
I was working on my lawnmower sitting on a plastic bucket and thinking I need a stool and than I saw this video, say no more. I asked the wife if I could get a stool for the garage but the ulterior motive was alive and well. I am now the proud owner of this rollerblade wheel stool and smashing drives with piercing trajectories!! Shout out to Irish Mike, AG1 and buttery soft Vuori.
10/10 - It became very clear to me sitting here today that every decision I’ve made in my entire golfing life has been wrong. My golf game is the complete opposite of everything I want it to be. Every instinct I have, in every aspect of golf, be it a new club, a new way to swing - it’s all been wrong
I prefer a scale of 5, so this video is a 10 out of 5. From the moment Mike pushed his foot in the swivel chair I had a flash to that sensation. So many happy moments in my life have been aggressively pushing across a room in a swivel chair. I, like mike, have suffered from squeezing the towel. But from the first five seconds i realized something that's changed me. Inside. I can't wait to take this to the course tomorrow.
10/10 - i shot my personal best 74 this weekend after watching this earlier in the week. The four kinetic sequences walkthrough connected the dots for me in a massive way. Thanks for the help guys. Here’s to feeling good all the time 🍻
8/10 life changing, will watch again. I was going to explain how I, similar to you, struggle with twisting before rock and rolling, but there is more to life than making shallow, fairly obvious observations.
8/10 - absolutely love the concept. Have never thought about incorporating this feel in the downswing before, and it legitimately helped me get +3mph on my latest session on the 195g Stack the night after I watched the first minute of this video (only 104mph, so no where near you guys). Would rate at 10/10 if you can help me figure out a way to hide a $400 Amazon purchase from my wife 🤷🏼♂️ Not sure if she’ll believe that I’m gearing up for a career in hair dressing. Love what you guys are doing, been listening since the start from Australia, and have no doubt that you guys are closer than ever to scratch. Although I don’t even know if that’s really the goal anymore? Hit it pure boys, and keep enjoying the journey 👍🏻 You seriously must pinch yourselves sometimes!
Amazing! These guys are SO GOOD! Will try the left foot story... this actually might be very similar to the body mechanics behind the "stack & tilt" swing that really worked well for me! LGLG
11 out of 10. Lenny, cue the "moment for us" music... When I first met her I knew there was a connection but things weren't immediately perfect - Was I talking too much? Was she talking enough? Do I play like I'm not interested but I think that she might be interested? But after some time, the awkwardness faded and she helped me achieve the piercing trajectory I've been dreaming of. And now, we're getting an apartment together. Neil is helping us find a place in a very exclusive community with an open floorplan and wood floors so we have all the room we need to chase a 20 handicap together. Me and Rose the rotary chair. Kudos to Dr. Greg and TPI.
10/10 🎉 This is truly life changing! I’ve been trying to do this for about a year and been contorting myself into all sorts of positions only to fail miserably to get this to work. This video makes so much sense - and it seems to work although more practice needed. So life changing in fact I thought long and hard about sharing it with golf buddies - I did in the end 😂
10/10. Life changing. Pushed my office chair so far back that i collided with the water cooler which fell over. Onto my bosses laptop that he kindly left on the floor Now I clean the offices. Thanks Mike.
10/10 life changing moment for both me, and my wife. For me, this is the move I've been working on and it is so crystal clear now thanks to Greggers Rosers. For my wife, she is ecstatic I'm so enthusiasticly wanting to go furniture shopping on the weekend (for a wide base rolling stool 😉). LGLG
12/10 - Am I surprised by how much this changed my life? If I work up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised than I am now.
It’s going to be a 10/10 life changer, but I need to feel a nice stool push. Between a whip, a neck stretcher, and now a stool with rollerblade wheels, I’m sure I have one of the weirder Amazon purchase histories largely thanks to you guys.
Don't have anything funny to say so I'll just say that not only this video, but the entire podcast has been 10/10 life changing. Seeing Mike make this breakthrough fired me up to keep searching for my own and now I'm wheeling around my cubicle like a madman wishing I was at the range. Kudos to you guys and LGLG
Life change rating: 10. I tried the left foot exercise on a stool. Promptly fell over backwards on the first try, broke my arm, and now I can hit 400 yard drives. I’m the Henry Rowengartner of amateur golf.
9.5/10 it will help change my golf game. It is the second biggest thing after my transplant. Gotta be alive to play golf. Kudos to Mike and Eli and Kudos to Greg and Titleist LGLG
4/10 life changer - Tried to push my roller office chair back with left foot. Pushed too hard, crashed into shelves, knocked over plants and small fish tank, children cried. Thanks TPI now we have to get ice cream and talk about loss with 4 year old.
9/10 nothings perfect! You had me hooked at left foot and sliding chair! Driver is one of my many problems but using the “push it” series sponsored by Salt n Pepper, I think I can learn to get sharper!
10/10 Unfortunately I now own a chair that my 917 sq foot home really could have lived without. It’s like when someone tries to sandwich a pool table in a space that has no business having a pool table in it and you inevitably have to use one of those tiny pool cues against a wall every other shot. Thanks boys, the wife is thrilled!
9/10 - point deducted because it’s after midnight and I just got out of bed to practise this move and woke my wife and my 4 year old daughter when my wrists smashed into the bedside table with a new found power and speed that I didn’t have before and I released a guttural scream that made them both wake with fearful cries. Id go to the range tomorrow if I didn’t think I would be divorced inside a week, so this will have to wait for a few days but I guarantee I will be sliding round on my office chair on Monday morning and smashing my knees into my desk. Thanks
1/10 this is obviously another attempt by big stool to get me to upgrade my stool. The regulations for specifications have been iron tight for stools for over 30 years, but I keep seeing these videos about fancy new stools. Stop falling for this rubbish. I can still sit in my stool for over 12 hours at a time no problem. The issue isn’t the stools, people just need to put in the work and commit. Expected better from you guys. No life changes here.
HI Guys Great Video, when Greg talks about the hands @12.49 in video would love to see the club face, and full view .I think i get it but would of been nice to see full shot , great transformation cheers mal
10/10 life changing move. I now exclusively navigate my workplace via left foot rolling chair push. The identity crisis this induced when it came to hitting driver can be compared to the likes of Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder. “ I know who I am! I’m the dude playing a dude, disguised as another dude!”
6/10 I've been chasing this move with the left foot for a while. This drill's definitely going to help. Although my blended work pattern may take a hit to take advantage of office chairs and floors.
8/10. I think 10 is reserved for things that will immediately send me to the PGA Tour, like Henry Rowengartner tearing his ligament type stuff. Probably should have a number reserved for the stuff outside of golf like marriage, birth of children, etc. 8 feels appropriate
10/10. This is it!! This is what I needed. I felt like I was lost in the middle of an ocean and that ocean was golf advice. There I am surrounded by drift wood, I’m trying to grab onto something, something to help me stay afloat. And here it is, the right piece. The life saver the piece that could hold both Rose and Jack after the Titanic went down. This will be my new devotion. I’m already starting on painting a roller chair gold and making a shrine. Thanks guys for all you give us. LGLG.
I give it uh A 10....a 10...a f***ing 10! As a life long early extender, I also was floored after doing those drills with the left foot that my early extension was fixed! Picked up 10 yards on my irons instantly. I just spoke with Art Vandelay, my importer and exporter to secure the finest wide base stool with rollerblade wheels to perfect my training. Add this to my list of increasing purchases based on your recommendations: Adam young strike plan, fit for golf app, stack system, golf metrics, the neck pillow, my goodr glasses and vuori clothes. I've improved from a 7 to a 2.1 and am hoping this left foot move can eliminate my 2 way miss and like you guys get to the finish line of scratch. LGLG
Holy shit this was an amazing video! Can’t wait to get to the range! I just found you guys about 2 weeks ago and I’ve straight up marathoned it all! I never looked ahead to see how long you guys kept it up, but I’m glad to see it’s still going, can’t wait to catch up on season 6! Let’s go let’s go Team Bear! Sorry Eli, love you too bro!
10/10. I was sitting at work on Friday practicing pushing off with my left leg in my chair. Luckily no one comes in on Friday… cleaning staff might have caught me!
You mentioned on the podcast about the using the wedges the way Vokey intended. Would be great to see. I watched the video with Vokey again but maybe a different explanation might click. And congratulations on not humping the ball anymore, going to buy myself a stool and try and work the same magic.
2/10 - I will continue slicing my drives into the trees and somehow keep scoring in the 80s because I am not chasing scratch, plus it’s good for the golf ball budget sense I don’t mind playing noodles and being apart of the community that sails them back into the wild for another pour soul to find. #noodlerforlife However, this partially changed my life because I always do the twist during rock n roll and this video gifted me an epiphany that I need to modernize my dance moves. The chance of a new driver also gives me small hope that my drive will be fixed. Of course that’s until I tee up that beautiful heavily used noodle on hole 1 and sail it back home into the wild for another pour soul to find…
“Honey, is there something you need to tell me? Why are you hugging the office chair salesman?” This is a 7/10 life changer on the course but 10/10 life changer on the home front.
To give this video a number on a scale would be an injustice. 10/10 does not accurately portray how different I will be after this moment. Would Lando put a number value on the day he lost the falcon? Would Chubbs rate the day he met Happy Gilmore? No this day is more than that. I will only refer to this moment as BS/AS, before Stool and after Stool. This has not just given me a new swing feel, this has made me a new person. A person who is marginally better at Golf.
To say this video changed my life would be an understatement, before this video I would hit high, weak fades or overcompensate with hard snap hooks. After seeing this video it’s like a light shown down from the heavens and I was a new man. This afternoon I went out on the course, hit a few balls to warm up and while doing this the ball sounded different, it sounded like a real golf shot! I was hitting it further, purer (Lenny… queue the piercing trajectory music). I went out to play a quick 9 holes, but after 4 holes I was even… and felt like I had something. I didn’t have a miracle round, but I did shoot one of my best scores of my life. The driver is the weakest part of my game, but using this method made my driver a weapon today - I could count on where the ball would go, and I hit more fairways and hit it longer than I have. This was incredibly helpful and made today a great day! Can’t wait for my next round, hopefully with my new driver from Titleist!
10/10 - Lenny can you queue up the life changing music. Thank you. You could fill two internets with what I don’t know about golf. This is a good start to a long haul of Pratice. As the man once said, the harder you work, the luckier you get. Let’s go, let’s go!
10/10 - Life Changing I no longer walk the course. I now shuffle around backwards on a rotary chair like an over enthusiastic Bond villain. I love it. I may never actually walk anywhere again. On another note.....I genuinely went for a driver lesson today and the very first thing the pro said to me was "Let's say I'm a genie and I can grant you 3 wishes today....." I laughed and replied "Atta boy Gary." 100% true story. Anyways, I'm gonna make him my new reverend and we're moving in together. 👍
10/10 changed my life. My office chair is rotary. I will get fired because instead of working I’ll be twisting and pushing off but that will give me more time to golf!
How am I supposed to sleep tonight? I've just watched this and can't wait to try it at golf in the morning, can't wait. Not had this feeling since being a kid the day before going on holiday 😅 this is my exact problem, I play off scratch but early extension is my killer
10/10 life changer. I just upended our condo search and texted our realtor in the group chat with my wife that I need “space to roll around on a wheeled stool to change my life. No questions. Price and neighborhood are no longer important. LGLG.”
10/10 Life changer. But is it a positive or negative change? I now own a rotary chair, spin around my house like a physician and require my family to address me as Dr. when I am on the rotary. Looking forward to all this spinning translating to my golf game. Kudos to Dr. Gregers and Kudos to Craigers...
