I saw a TPI certified physio. It might have been something they wanted in their practice but they weren’t ready. Thank you for this video. Nice to see it done right, or at least better than my experience.

At 56 with arthritis in right hip and some cervical disc issues from old injuries, I started this process about a month ago. For me it’s about performance AND injury prevention. I’ve always been an athlete and my score was a 26, so a real eye-opener. Still, I’m excited because there is so much room for improvement!

I did my test 4 weeks ago. 25 handicap. I am 61 so injury prevention is really key. We are working on stability and strength. It isn't cheap but as they said you can't drive a compact like a Ferrari and not crash. My playing partners are spending their cash on new Drivers. I am spending it on the person swinging the Driver. Great video and I bet you were surprised.

Definitely spend it on your body. It maybe originally for playing better golf but long run...it is good for your health.

Keep in mind the pulley ratio when using cable machines to compare your own numbers. The machine Titleist is using here is a 4:1 ratio per LifeFitness (the manufacturer), which means the weight on the stack is not a true 1:1 number of how much weight you can lift.

This is soo interesting. I’d really like to take this test (and it would be awful…😂)!

For Lat (and to a degree Tricep) tightness, there is a simple but effective way to get some of that flexibility back: HANGS from a bar! Great way to let gravity do the work, and improve your grip strength & decompress your spine at the same time. But don’t do it everyday…maybe every 3-4 days and add some other supplemental exercises (butchers block & basic overhead triceps stretch) & therapies (foam rolling, deep tissue work). If you have access to a sauna / jacuzzi, do a couple of hangs for 15-30 seconds after your completely warmed up and “jello”. But don’t take the whole bottle of aspirin on this advice. You can burn out your grip muscles & especially being a golfer, that could be very detrimental. Great vid and big fan of your putting tool kit I purchased a while back.

No landing mechanics when vertical jumping? Feet parallel when landing -softer landing to absorb ground reaction forces -kinetic chain checkpoints

I would love to have done these tests 40 years ago. I was a county athlete, but now at 66 with various health issues I’d be awful. Very interesting to see though..

That was really interesting and thank you for sharing your fitness results. It's definitely not easy to be so forthcoming about that sort of thing :D. However, is vertical jump the best measure for leg strength in a golf swing? That's so dependent on weight too. I doubt John Daly had an 18" jump, but no doubt had a ton of strength.
@FredrikandHannah
@FredrikandHannah Год назад
They have a few ways to measure strength. Vertical force is jumping but they also measured my strength while doing dumbbell split squats

don’t physically try to force your swing to increase club head speed in order to maximise distance, that’s a recipe for disaster on the course - tempo and timing is the key - maintain strength and flexibility, don’t look for distance, distance will find you !
@djcardwell

How is he hitting 180 ball speeds with a "24 handicap golfer fitness body"???
@FredrikandHannah
@FredrikandHannah 8 месяцев назад
Good question. They told me that a higher handicap does not necessary mean you’re going to be slower but it does indicate that you’re using your body’s abilities to the absolute max and that there is a bigger risk for injuries if you’re swinging that fast with a higher fitness hcp.
@cp90_
@cp90_ 4 месяца назад
Not a fan of the chest press test. With no support it severely limits what a lighter body weight can press even though the strength is potentially there.

Yes because we were hitting balls and testing clubs prior and after this. Honestly could have done that in workout clothes but didn’t know if that would have been inappropriate haha

I will learn? I swing it at 180mph and play professionally. If you watch the video they mainly say I need to get more flexible and stronger to prevent injuries. Not to necessary become a much better golfer.
