It made us realize we need to prepare for the next stage of our lives so that we don't get scared of the grave and are prepared for it. Unfortunately living in the west, time seemed to be running away. may Allah grant Brother Qadi long life and good health. I hope Allaha Saves us all from the Fire of Hell. Inshallah.

I have a request for you, can you please add whatever duaas you mention in your lectures in the description of the video? It becomes easier to take notes that way. Also, if anyone can confirm the duaa for protection against the fitnah and azab of the grave and fire that sheikh mentioned from a hadeeth, I'd be super thankful.

But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... " (45) And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away. (46) And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." (47) And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" (48) They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing. (49) And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return. (50) And the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten. (51) They will say, "O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" [The reply will be], "This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth." (52)

Assalam Alaykum Dear Sheikh. I have a question, what about the Ahadeeth that mention that the people of the barzakh converse with each other? For example the hadith that says after a righteous soul passes to the next world his close relatives and loved ones come to greet him. How does this reconcile with the hadith you told that the person will be told to go to "sleep"? If all go to "sleep" then what about this welcoming that has been said to happen?

Dreams?
@mohammadakhtar777
@mohammadakhtar777 4 года назад
Kemal Sahib: Sleeping is a phenomenon for living bodies to get rest. Souls and Angels DO NOT NEED SLEEP. That is why when you sleep, your soul leaves your body. Your dreams are a manifestation of that also. That is why the Holy Quran defines sleep as dying, and waking up as returning to life. Yes, in barzakh, we will see our family and friends; but, only those that will be in the same category as us (heaven or hell; i.e. jannati or dozakhi). That is how you and your family will also be able to learn the status of anyone who died before you. The missing people may return to your category when Allah SWT forgives them by His Mercy on the Day of Judgment. Remember, many people will get promoted to higher levels of heaven by Allah SWT's MERCY. Many will be placed at the same level as their pious family members and friends. That is why having pious friends and family members is so important even in this life. Allah SWT knows that most humans enjoy the company of their family and friends; that is why He SWT will use His Mercy to raise people from their lower status into higher dimensions of heaven so that we all can enjoy eternity together.

Episode 4 Notes: The Fitnah of the Grave Some Islamic scholars have said reciting Surah Mulk can protect you from the Fitna of the Grave. This is because there are Hadith which, mention it will protect a person from the Adhab of the Grave. Munkar and Nakir means that which should be rejected and is disliked i.e it means that which you don’t recognise. The reason they are named that way is because they aren’t appealing to look at or because most of mankind rejects the Akhirah and thus them. But these are just scholarly interpretations of their names. After the Fitna of the Grave, depending on the persons result, they will either undergo the Adhab Al Qabr or the Na’eem Al Qabr. Adhab al Qabr: This is widely narrated and is a clear part of Islamic theology. The Prophet SAW stated, the most terrifying thing he saw was Adhab Al Qabr. Uthman Ibn Affan RA would cry when going through the graveyard, because of the Hadiths on the significance of the Adhab Al Qabr. The default state of graves in the Barzakh is that, they are a dark and dank place. However, some graves are dark and others are light, this state of the grave varies on the piety of the individual within. The Squeezing of the Grave is a universal event that will occur for everyone including the Shaheed. It is unknown if it occurs before or after the Fitna of the Grave. For the believer, this Squeezing will be very short. Even Sa’d Ibn Muadh RA underwent the Squeeze which, shocked the Prophet SAW. As the Prophet SAW assumed that, if anyone would not be squeezed, then it would be Sa’d RA. Na’eem Al Qabr The righteous Muslim after passing the Fitnah of the Grave, will undergo the Na’eem Al Qabr. This is essentially the reward of the righteous person in the Barzakh. The grave of the righteous Muslim, will be made wide and it will contain light. The fragrance of Jannah will come into the grave. Furthermore, the good deeds of the Muslim, will manifest itself in a form which, will calm them down. The Muslim will be shown his place in Jannah and the place in Jahannam, they were saved from. After this, the righteous souls will be in a trance until Qiyamah according to a Hadith, in Jami At Tirmidhi. Fun Trivia fact: There is a difference of opinion amongst the scholars, as to whether or not all previous Ummahs will undergo the Fitna of the Grave. Fun Trivia fact: It is allowed to bury a person at night time. Although the Fiqh schools prefer it be done during the day, in order to allow the most amount of people, to pray the deceased’s Janazah. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW informed us that, the Prophets AS are standing and praying within their graves. A famous Andalusian scholar stated that, this isn’t Salaah. But, rather Zikir and Dua which they are engaging in. However, others like Ibn Qayyim RH say it is Salaah. Other scholars say that only the Prophets AS will pray in their graves and no one else. ====================================================================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Life in the Barzakh Series Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Life in the Barzakh series. Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Barzakh series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes. One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. It Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah. Lastly, I have uploaded the notes to Dropbox, if anyone wants them in one document then comment below. I also have done notes on Sheikh YQs Seerah series and Mothers of the Believers series. You can find them below the episodes on his channel in comments. Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins. Ameen!

It makes more sense when mentioned in 36minutes that the salat of the qabr is Dua and zikir as it is a form of Worship and it is illogical to think that salat of qabr is the same salat as dunya because in salat we say iyyaka nabudu wa iyakka nastaeeen ihdinassiraatul mustaqeemm untill the end.... so to ask Allah guide us to straight path and not missed guided of those whom Allah cursed is of no point when your dead . So Dua and zikir in my opinion is more befitting and the correct context of this Hadith . And Allah knows Best

About the issue of praying in the grave. Maybe all righteous people perform some acts of worship in the qabr. There is no evidence that any other than the prophets pray in their grave, but there is no evidence against that either, right? The barzakh is neither this life nor the next one, it is literally the in between, so some ibada is probably possible, and as mentioned thikr and du'aa are done in the grave and these too are acts of worship. In this life the devil comes to us when we worship to ruin our khushuu' and prayers; it is practically impossible, or at least almost impossible, to pray a 100% pure, correct salah, so maybe for the righteous Muslims, who did their best in this dunia and made jihad against themselves to perform the prayers or do thikr or recite Quran properly, maybe as a reward, they get to experience an absolutely pure and perfect act of worship (even if not necessarily praying) with 100% khushuu', as a part of na'im alqabr. Won't that be absolutely wonderful?! Or maybe the prayer mentioned in the hadith of Israa' and Mi'raj is something special that the prophets did on that time that Allah has allowed them to meet.

How about a person who's eaten by sharks? He doesn't have any grave!

Your question also applies to people whose bodies are burnt (such as, by Hindus), or those who drown in oceans or seas. The "soul" of these people does NOT die with their bodies. Their soul is a separate entity. So, even though someone dies after drowning, is eaten by a shark, or is burnt; their souls are still alive. It is the combination of the body and the soul that gives us life. When we die, our "souls" go to Barzakh to wait until the Day of Judgment. Please remember, Almighty God does NOT need anything to recreate us again; all He has to do is to say "Kun faya koon" (which in English means saying: "Be, and it is").

Sahih International’s translation of the Qur’an says that Allah will *provide a grave* for a dead person. I don’t know if that’s an accurate translation of Qur’an 80:21. But that language suggests that the grave incident will take place in some other realm beyond the physical world.
