Honestly Aemond has probably the single most badass death in this series like everything about it with Daemon jumping off one dragon to another is fucking lit
@@cd2888 they are gonna fuck it up somehow, Daemon is gonna accidentally drop Dark Sister during the fight and it's going to accidentally pierce Aemond's eye or something stupid since they have a clear disdain for the source material and the fans of it. @@mehdi4391 Sadly they haven't 🙄😮💨 The books were so much more interesting, and they took so much of the important information that were in the books and left it out of the series. Also the series had a lot of things that made no sense. Like all the visions made no sense or led no where, and the fact that a lot of characters that were interesting in the books had a one time awesome scene then went to being completely boring the rest of the season. Personally they could have done sooo much better.
Aemond never wanted to be Daemon. They're nothing alike. If anything Daemon saw some of himself in his nephew I'm sure. They're both 2nd sons who lived in their older brothers shadow.

But anyways, yeah they don't share a similar upbringing but they do share a smiliare "feeling less than" and working harder to be better. They both took to and mastered the sword. They both, as much as they hated it and felt it unjust, did their duty. They both have a bone to pick and do so in the "best" ways a second son can.
@crimetimewithjess5366 yes. They both have that 2nd son complex. They both feel they are better suited for the crown. I think for Daemon it stung deeper because not only did Viserys name Rhaenyra his heir, but the birth of Aegon and Aemond pushed him further down the line of succession. It's said in Fire and Blood that their births were a point of contention for Daemon in court. It's a sad state of affairs for this family.
Aemond is my favorite character and thank you for making such a detailed video from his perspective. People tend to paint him as a negative character yet almost all his "bad" actions are understandable and make sense from his point of view. I think the actions of Rhaenyra and Daemon are way harder to justify yet people tend to like them a lot more.

It's a story we've seen a million times, school bully mocks someone after their parent dies, and/or starts saying someone's mom is a whore and then proceeds to get fucked up, we all cheer. He 100% escalated that fight.

It is but read or listen to the book! Batt productions did a great job reading it and putting it on RU-vid. Alicent is way worse in the book in my opinion. But Rhaenyra went nuts and took things way too far.

People need to start looking at the book as an outline, at best, of what really happened. The TV show, is a Birds Eye view of what really went down. Book readers, should realize this, without having to be spoon fed this. ‘Fire&Blood,’ is a history book. History books lie. They often have partially accurate and flat out false information. This book is written from the perspective of three separate characters. (A Maester, A Septon, and a Fool.) None of whom, were in the inner circle of the characters involved in the dance. When you take into account, The Hightowers rule Old Town. Old Town, where the Citadel, which educates the Maesters, is located. The Starry Sept, where the Faith of the Seven is centered and trains the Septs. (The Sept of Baelor hasn’t been created, yet. As Baelor the blessed, has not been born.) These people are not going to bite the hand that feeds them, so to speak. Therefore, they are going to portray the Hightowers, (The Greens.), in as favorable a light, as possible. HoTD has done a great job of fleshing out the story. A Septor and a Maester, would never write about a Hightower Dowager Queen, having intimate relations with her sworn protector. Especially, at the time of her grandson’s gruesome death. Even if they did know about Alicent’s affair with Ser Criston Cole, they would never publish that information. Mushrooom “The fool,” who wrote about the more salacious aspects of the dance. Didn’t write about this? Why? Because, he wasn’t a part of the inner circle. A fool, who performed at court once. Now believes he knows these highborn and royal people, well enough to know their most intimate secrets? Come on now.
the show is incredibly more sympathetic to the Greens as opposed to how they are portrayed in Fire and Blood. If it had been purely biased for the Blacks they would’ve kept them as unabashed villains
The show shouldn’t have had Aemond shout such nasty threats when he claimed the dragon. He should have made logical arguments while the others became more emotional as they realized he was right. Only once they started bullying him, yet again, should he have realized that he was the most powerful being alive, and no longer needed to take their abuse. They really should have done more to shiw that his whole childhood was spent being bullied and outcast while all the other kids play together. It’s vital to his character that we see that he buried himself in practice and study because he had nobody to socialize with, not because he wanted to be a better king. Just like Daemon, Aemond is basically destroying his enemies, while also destroying his allies, because he doesn’t feel like he belongs with any of them. In fact, he feels like they all hate him for no good reason. Childhood bullying destroys a persons ability to bond with others for the rest of their life.
The way the show portrayed him was very good when he got vhagor. Most kids that are bullied and outcastes, tend to get emotional, or quiet. They did an amazing job for example, he's the type to plot revenge, seek it when the moment is right. Like when he got revenge on his brother mocking him with his first prostitute he clearly was attached to
Failed to mention that Aemond literally threatened that they would burn as their father did, but also held Luke at rock point ready to bash his head in… like I understand Jace didn’t pull out his knife in defence, but don’t leave that part out. Trying to make it sound as if Jace was the only threatening one with a weapon.
Well Aemond had already lowered the rock. It was no longer a threat, plus this is more so coveting what we know from the book and not the show. The show has done a lot to try and make the blacks worthy of cheering for.

I don't think Vhagar would have bonded with only Aemond and no one else. Had Rhaena (who's several years younger than Aemond) been given time, she would have tried to bond with her and maybe succeeded. I'm not team black nor green (though the director's team black bias is kinda annoying) but Aemond wasn't in his right to sneak in while Rhaena and Baela are still grieving their mother. But I don't forget he's still a child at this point.

Yeah agree to disagree. Aemond was there at the funeral of their mother at the time and once he got the dragon he was kind of a d*ck to Rhaena and Baela for understandably being upset over seeing their mother's former dragon being taken by someone else. Especially Rhaena, who was like Aemond at the time, a dragonless rider. Like I get it, nobody claims a dragon, the dragon either chooses or accepts you but he didn’t have to be a d*ck about it especially to two girls who he has no qualms with in reality.
Jace was wrong to pull the dagger because he was angry however this was not why Aemond lost his eye. Aemond had many chances to just stop the fight and he never did, instead he just wanted to rub on their faces he got the best dragon of them all. He was being extremely rude to Rhaena and Baella since the begining and verbaly riling up all the kids there. When the fight started even with him being older and stronger than anyone else there and beating them withou need of a weapon he was the FIRST to get one. He grabed the rock to threaten the kids and before Jace got the dagger. Aemond lost his eye because he could stop threatening to kill the kids (feed them to his dragon, kill them like Hawing died or killing Jace with the stone.) and scred them so much that all there believed he would kill Jace with the stone, he already used it on Jace head once and he was very happy with every kid fearing him there that he maybe truly do that. He lost his eye because Luke wanted to save his brother from him. And it's clear luke just did that to save his brother, because after finaly making Aemon stop he didn't try to attack him anymore. And the guard could not help Aemond if he really wanted to make more damage because they were far from than and Luke could just jump on Aemond and stab him more if he truly wanted to do that. As much as Jace was stupid to use the dagger because it was dangerous and could kill or seriously hurt someone thera, Aemond have the exact same problem with the stone. He could killed on seriously injured someone with that some one could have easly lost an eye like he did if he bashed it against anyone eye or broke some one skull. Aemond lost his eye because now he had a huge dragon bigger than anyone else he thought he could be the one scaring and bulling the others without any consequecence. He did not became a bully just because he got Vhagar, he already was one before that. He never cared about his nephews when he could beat them on traning grounds with the excuse he was being trained also he never cared about blame his own brother for the pig joke when it was clear Aegon was the one to make it. It was easier vent his anger on the younger kids.
Aemond have this pattern of acting when he thinks he have the advantage. He is the one starting fight without thinking about the consequences and them try to throw the blame away. It is easier put the blame on Lucerys instead of thinking that his actions were the one who lead to the fight and than losing his eye. Same thing on dinner when when he rilled up Rhaenyra kids again in hope of starting another fight, same thing on storms end when he challenged Lucerys there and and same thing after when he set Vhagar on Lucerys. It will be probably the same thing when he goes fight Daemon, he will think it will be safer with huge Vhagar against "only" Caraxes and his old uncle.

I don't think so, Vhagar was nobody's dragon she just has riders throughout her life and Laena being the previous one Aemond simply replaced her, the day being their mother's funeral had nothing to do with it.

The reason he gets stabbed is because he’s literally holding the rock and walking up to Jace with it, which makes him throw the dirt and Luke slash him.

Aemond could have been so much more interesting in the series and the fact they had the greens kind of against eachother made no sense to me when they were already going to war with the queen 😒 The fact they always change so much in the series just is upsetting all in itself when the books were so good and alot of fans that know and have read the books were let down, especially yhe season finally.
I never get where people get the hype that Aemond was some peerless warrior, dude's only fight was against a VERY old man (Ser Simon Strong) with no feats. Every other action was taken on Vhagar's back.

The better warrior won the fight because Daemon went there with every intention to fight to the death, Aemond was arrogant enough to think he could beat Daemon, who had over 3 times his experience riding a dragon, without a plan.
