Wow. What a story. I always knew Pythagoras was a great man because of his findings in mathematics. But he went way beyond that. I can excuse some of the hyperbole because the people probably invented stories of their own. I don't think Pythagoras could control the weather but you expect some of this in history. His statement that "The truth deifies a man," and "God is light. God's soul is truth," rings true to me. Today, we call science a "search for the truth." I subscribed.
I was always told how bad at mathematics I was. Mother and father never believed much in me. Fast forward to 26, (big number in numerology) I’ve interpreted all the clues in my life, all the people I’ve come into contact with, and cracked alot of mysteries. God bless the chosen.
Air is water too. Think he said air is made of crystals. The point is the difference between birds n fishes. One is in water fins move one way. Birds fins move the other way n fly .
I went through your encyclopedia hermetica 3 times in the past, and it really got me thinking. I listen to quite a host of things. I really wish I could see you do a cross over with another RU-vid channel. I feel like you and the dude could have a good talk. Gnostic Informant could use your pov.
Thanks for your effort in putting your stuff out. I’ve expanded to so many other areas of “knowledge sources” due to your big history. I was a shill for it haha.
Hey MH, would you be interested in debating Jay Dyer on Pagan theology/Neoplatonism vs the Christian Transcendental argument for God on BTR? Jay has denigrating Greeks/Romans for years
Is there any way you can add spanish closed captioning on your videos/posts? I know several people that would subscribe and watch them all and I believe you would open your work up to a large new audience. Thanks either way.
I don't know how good the translations are, but if you go to the little cog button in the bottom right of the screen, you can get automatically translated subtitles (presumably based off google translate and the provided script).
The more I learn about these ancient teachers the more the part of the cave allegory where the freed prisoners go back and why many did not share knowledge unless the people where searching for enlightenment makes sense.
I guess you could say this is the condensed biography of Pythagoras although I'm not sure how much is really known about him. Wow, what an example. Christ consciousness in action. I'm wondering what he had against beans. Was it an allegory?
“Though decked with leafy crowns” After a series of visions I experienced, my minds eye had grown drawn towards the scattered mentions of “thigh” in the works of mythos, theology, and the spotted histories which boarder them both. I’d be curious to hear the thoughts of others concerning this “thigh” motif; there must be some aspect to this appearing in literature that could be related to the “golden thigh of Pythagoras”. I’ve starting to suspect it’s a birthmark, which carries some timeless significance. I’d love to chat with anyone interested!
Thank you. Wow, if the tragedy of his followers sacrificing themselves for him is true, what an irony, preaching detachment all your life, then to die from grief. Understandable, of course, but who knows, so many stories. And with all his wisdom, that wasn't the smartest thing to do, reject Cylon like that. I always thought anybody could discover the Pythagorean formula from observations with blocks or something. And of course, it's from Vedic texts way before attribution to Pythagoras (snake gathering place, python agora).
Was the famous and ancient Phoenician city of Tyre part of Assyria? I thought that Pythagoras was of Phoenician roots not Assyrian, since Tyre was one of the most notable Phoenician cities of the Eastern Mediterranean. That’s where Europe was born and that’s where they sailed from to establish Carthage.
He was a mystery school teacher so I'm pretty sure he did. The no meat and no bean could have been because of something like Syrian rue which can trigger serotonin syndrome when taking with something like ayahuasca.
