#ferrisbueller #lifelike #mathewbroderick #inmycar #frenchtouch Good to edit a Lifelike track again. This time it's John Hughes' "Ferris Bueller Days Off", a modern classic in its own right.
I just found the sample to this song... so many years and interested in this sample. With a little google assistant and my computer, it turns out the sample used was Stop Lovin' You by Bogart released in 1979. You're welcome 🙂
This has been a cornerstone in my life since I listened to it. I listen to it on my way to work, I listen to it when I get stoned, I listen to it when I'm in the shower. Thanks dude.
Guys I was dj'ing french house in the old days...I found the Lifelike track in my collection and as it's not available anywhere to purchase and download I uploaded it: soundcloud.com/mrbootox/in-my-car-live-mix Please support LifeLike...one of the best french house acts of all times.... GREAT TRACK WITH GREAT EDITING!!! Ferris Bueller is my favorite movie Know where I can find or buy this song? Oh, did you know that Ferris Bueller was an alias used by Laurent Heinrich (Aka Lifelike)?
@@pedromontalvo9456 actually, I dont remember. I mistook it with another white label (All I Need is You) which has Mike sample. I am pretty certain the sample was found back in a day (like, 15 years ago) but I couldnt tell you right now
Probably late coming to this thought but I think this video is a great example of mixing something that was created during the 80s with the polished, idealized 80s that producers like Lifelike and others do now. 3:00 to 5:20 is just amazing.
you are so fucking amazing at editing and you just have the most perfect music for your videos! I love how it's timed with the beat and everything it's just so fucking outstanding!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this man! That said, this track is virtually NOWHERE except here and Vimeo. Same vid too. Apparently it's officially (still) unreleased... Where in the world did you find the original mix?? Was it leaked back then?
ben10b4321 Late reply, sorry. If you check discogs the track was officially released in a compilation known as "Always Open" published by sismic music. It's the only way to find the track in an official form. Otherwise, very hard to find and never understood why. Thanks for your comment Ben!
@@dixienormous6969 Yup, on these older cars the speedo was driven by a cable usually ran from the transmission. Today it's all computer monitored and electronically measured.
@@dixienormous6969 Back in the late 80's my parents went on a weekend vacation and left me with the keys to their Chevelle. I was told to use it only for emergencies and grocery shopping... I put over 1200 miles on it in one night and I estimate a top speed of 155 mph when the hood started to shake so bad, I thought it was going to rip off. They never found out about it because I disconnected the cable that drives the speedometer and odometer.
@@PhaQ2 man, you must have been an absolute mad lad in the 80s. You're lucky you got to experience what seemed to be the best decade to ever exist. I was unfortunately born too late to experience it but me mum tells me it was pretty nice & from the videos I've seen & the history of it, I bet it was truly something else. You may have not known it at the time since you were living it and didn't think much of it but I'm sure you think back on those days very fondly 💅🗿 I'm 21 now, would have looooooved to have been 21 back in the 80s.
HugoRedRose I actually have a copy of the CD. I asked label owner Olivier Huguenard where could I buy the CD and he told me I couldn't because... it was free! He sent it to me by mail!! What a guy, think I was 17 at the time and I'm 29 now :) There was an event that had to do with cars (if I remember correctly) and the CD was given our for free as promotion :) Sadly, mine has cracked, but I saved the files onto my computer so I still have them all!
Ah my mistake. I thought Lifelike just altered the pitch of the vocal sample slightly. Thanks for the info. Always love knowing where he gets his samples from.
