currently working on a full sized mouse in the low teens for weight, it's made from a much stronger carbon fiber composite than the M1K (and M2K) allowing the shell to be thinner and therefore weighing less. curious if you would be interested in doing a shroud type collab for the shape, currently the mold is shaped like a UL2 and G305 hybrid, but would love you input

Having a heavy mouse gives you a disadvantage edit: i switched back to a heavy mouse and there was rly no difference in my aiming so disregard this comment
@@buster2644 while me using g502 with higher sensitivity. Still can flicking and aim. But in the end, it ppl choice which one they prefer. My cons? My hand get tired easily. But meh. I don't play 24hours anyway.
As someone who played well with a mouse that weighed like 140 g for like 4 years, getting a 60 gram mouse made a huge difference. But only for maybe a few months. Then I got used to the weight and played about as well as I did before. I think that's why people chase lighter mice. Switching to a lighter mouse feels great for many, but like he says: "you get used to it". I doubt he is playing with the 20 gram mouse tho, it's just as a joke for the video. I used to have the same opinion as you, but after switching, I can understand why light mice have gotten so popular
@@sleepy9932 depends, as long as you have a decent gaming mouse ur good. Many csgo pros used like $30 mice, but an office mouse is probably not gonna work
Honestly, I prefer the g502 with full weights in. It is super precise and the weight is perfect for me. Light mouses to me feel cheap and fragile and I don’t get the hype behind light mice
With all these years using heavy mice, starting with those early mice that uses steel mouse balls, I was weirded by purchasing a glorious model o. Felt like I wasnt holding anything and felt cheap. I sold it and got a g502.
@@PuceGaming445 fair enough, lighter mice are objectively better because the lesser energy required to move or stop an object the more responsive it is.
@@overfall. That doesn't make it objectively better that just makes it objectively lighter. Nobody want a carbon fiber mouse to play third person or strategy games
@@freezedriedicecream The goal of a mouse is to provide accurate and stable mouse movement, having a lighter mouse means its more accurate and stable. If you think a heavy mouse is better for strategy games or third person games thats subjective and entirely your preference. It does not make a heavy mouse "better" factually though.
Fr, my favorite mouse is still the logitech g502 with all the metal plates in it even though I use a differant mouse now, the weight of the mouse made it very smooth to aim.
Currently have a mouse from 2008 (shocking I know) which still works just as well as it did before, but it is obvious I need a new one. Anyway, I don't have a basis to compare so I am used to playing games with this rather small/average sized wireless mouse that weighs close to 140 grams. I can't currently know how much I am missing out, but as it is, I am not bad at games even with this apparent huge disadvantage. Even with the best mouse...if you not good, you still not good...
Actually you can buy a camera and code something to track your movements and finger motions to what a normal mouse would be, so technically there’s a 0g mouse
I prefer bigger mice like the g502. I have large hands and bony fingers so the Logitech is quite comfortable for my grip. I've ran through a lot of mice some bigger some smaller some the same size, but overall I prefer the g502.
If you look through all the comments on this short, you will see that most people prefer the g502 which is 7.5x heavier than his stupid 20g overpriced mouse.
@@garrettcooper58 that’s bc the g502 is a mouse that was designed to be appealing to new pc gamers and casuals. I tried some light mouses and I even had a mouse with additional weights, for me because I have big hands I found that heavier mouses work better for my big hand, however for people with smaller hands I do recommend lighter mouse, don’t listen to everything on the internet find the ideal mouse weight that fits your hand and muscles
I have big hands. The steel series 310 was pretty much the only mouse of its size and was big enough for my hands. Every mouse after that felt weird, but I still don't recommend a heavy mouse because it makes you play worse and that's just reproducible fact. If I could have a wireless 310 that weighed 60g I would.
@@dogboy0912 I tried the Hyperx pulsfire haste (59g) as well as steelseries aerox 3(60g), I tried many and I mean really many gaming mice that were designed for big hands but light and I for some reason always overshot my aim I gave them both 6 months to adjust my hands to them and no my aim didn’t improve, the moment I went back to my mouse with extra weight my aim was perfect and adjustable, idk maybe because my hands and arms are a bit muscular that I for some reason need heavy mice or because of my big hands, either way I tested and found out that heavy mice worked better for me
Bro it's not about muscles. I'm quite fit and have big hands and I still prefer lighter mouses because I feel like I can control my aim more easily. It's totally not about muscles. Just preferences
Everyone saying they prefer using a heavier mouse but try using a really heavy pen or pencil. The best gamers utilize some sort of finger movement not just wrist and arm and a lighter mouse is great for this.
it wouldn’t make a difference when dpi is a thing. there is no “this mouse is faster” when you can change the speed. heavier mice slide better, usually have better skates, and usually have a longer battery life
@@dopeastrofym “heavier mice slide better”? that makes no sense at all. and the point of a light mouse isn’t to move faster, it’s to be more precise since the mouse will have less momentum
@@Hey_IMBM I guess it will tire you out if you flick too much? Also it's easier to do small adjustments. But yeah if I had a light mouse I might flick it so hard that it fly's.
I can't stand mice that don't feel like they're even there. Partly because I use wired mice, so if it's too light the wire will push it around too much. The mouse that I have (Steelseries Rival 600) came with EXTRA weights you can put in it. So my mouse has 30 extra grams just chilling in it just because I wanted
I personally like the weight of the g502. I feel like with a lighter mouse it feels so cheap and low quality. I like when a mouse has some good old weight to it.
if you have a premium feel-material based mouse like the razer viper mini you will be shocked that your opinion was wrong xD, I respect your opinion tho.
They’re both the same price. I own a wireless g502 and I love the weight of it. It doesn’t feel that heavy too bcuz the skates on them are pretty darn good
Tbh after switching from a light weight mouse to a g502x, I much prefer the heaver g502x, small flicks and adjustments feels so much easier and more accurate
I used to think this until I realized a heavy mouse just makes you worse at shooters, backed by reproducible evidence while heavy mice are only every backed by people saying, "I feel like". All these people advocating for heavy mice are living like 7 years in the past. I feel like we are going through the same thing again. Corsair m65 was so cool because of how heavy it was, then it stopped being cool because people realized a heavy mouse kinda sucks.
There’s a reason a lot of gaming mice come with removable weights. The weight and design of the mouse is heavily dependent on what you’re using it for, and what your preferences are. Lighter mice aren’t always a good thing, tracking and micro adjustments are often aided by having a heavier mouse due to higher friction leading to smaller movements being easier to do. Lighter mice exceed at flicking and other large movements, so RTS and other top down games often benefit from lighter mice, as they cause less exhaustion in the arm as well as being easier to move from one side of the screen to the other. So, if you like lighter mice in general, that’s your preference, but I would be careful to generalize mice that are heavier as being worse at all tasks
@Michael Steuart except smaller. That's the part that seems uncomfortable about it, if you've got long fingers it seems like it'd be fairly awkward to use
Honestly I think a heavy mouse is much better than companies trying to compete to make a super-light mouse, it feels repetitive and boring. Plus, they’re too sensitive to actually play games or get work done.
Hey dude, I just wanna say, not sure if you were a fan of technoblade, but I want to let you know how much you remind me of him, your humor, voice and personally are awesome! Thanks so much for your content :)
Again kids, people prefer iphones cuz the material is heavier and silkier meaning it feels more premium meaning Heavier IS better And you guys cherish over 80grams making us feel like our wrists feel the dang diff
if you choose a heavier mouse it doesn't mean that you are stupid, it's just a preference. Most of the light mice feel really cheap and don't have too many features
@@Hey_IMBM what kind of advantage does a light bag give you?,if you can answer that question then you can answer the mouse question, I don't have time for dumb question with obvious answers 👍
@@ed1tz468 Just for you to know a lighter mouse actually leading to a worse performance (if we are talking about adults) as it gives you less control over your wrist movement. For teens and kids under age 13 maybe 15 im not sure where the border its actually a bit better to have a lighter mouse as their wrist is both weaker and more flexible but yet again im not sure where the effectiveness borderline goes as there were no such researches. And anyone who tries to push for some nonsense flexing with exact numbers just proving themselves as an arrogant and stupid.
As someone who does both high sens and low sens gaming the weight of the g502 let’s you get more precision with certain things. I prefer a higher weight mouse whenever I’m playing a comp shooter because I can align it with my fingers without overshooting. Probably easy to relearn a lighter mouse but I also don’t feel the money investment is worth it.
If you think abt it a 50g mouse allows you to move it twice as fast. Just an opinion, I’m not a mice enthusiast so idk but it makes sense in my head lol
Lighter mice are for easier micro adjustments and it raises the skill ceiling for you. Give a Pro a light mouse and then a heavy mouse the pro will almost always do better with the light mouse because he has the skill to capitalize on it. Give a average player a heavy mouse and then a light mouse they'll probably perform better on the heavier since their mistakes are less noticeable and its more forgiving.
A heavy mouse isnt horrible for many people they like the weight and make it easier for them. You have your prefs with light mouses. Some people have their prefs with a heavy mouse.
I mean I trust in my self and not having a God dam noodle for a arm and personally idc if I have a heavy or light mouse or here's an option get gud SON
Heavy mouses are actually most of the time better for aiming accurately the only advantage of a light mouse is moving quicker and you can still get the same thing with higher sensitivity
Super lights don’t offer much advantage anyways. It’s just a mouse. I love mine heavy as it compensates for my shaky hands and still lets me aim precisely when I need to. It’s also barely any effort to move.
Mouse like G502 are best for playing casual and moba games. Light mouse like the G Pro Superlight are best for fps games. I've tried both and they are very good.
Honestly, I prefer heavy mice. All my decent mice up until a year ago were light mice, but when my model o finally died on me I decided to shop for a heavy mouse, being a sniper player. Found my razer basilisk, added a couple weights, and never looked back
Honestly theres no point in getting light mouses, first they feel goofy AF, they are too overpriced, and its only a few grams difference! You barley even feel the difference
The mouse weight really is up to your intended playstyle tho subjectively the light mouse does have some advantages, especially in fps games. For heavier mice you would usually want to play higher sensitivity, as you need more energy to start moving the mouse, making far movements hard. Lighter mice are better for lower sensitivity, which lets you be more precise and controlled with your overall aim. They require less power to start moving and keep going. Although heavier mice might have higher stopping power, due to the weight pressing down onto the mousepad, it does get balanced out by your sensitivity once again, as high sens requires high stopping power, while low sens gets you a bit more room to have lower stopping power. All in all what i want to say is that light mice are indeed better in tactical fps games (valorant or cs2), due to more effortless movements on low sensitivity, however in other fast moving fps (apex, overwatch) a heavier mouse with high sensitivity would be the better go to. In the end it mostly comes down to your playstyle: high sens + heavy mouse, low sens + light mouse
many esports pros use light mice because its easier to aim and more natural but thats if you're more compeititve, i can see why many people like heavier mice
