Not sure what's so interesting about looking into others bags, but it is 😂 Soon going on a 5 week trip, but no camping so my pack is mostly cams, electronics and underwear. Nice to see you again.

No camping! Outrageous!!

@@adventurespec haha indeed. Executive adventuring :) But we like to mingle with the locals and get the culture on small pensions. A few nights camping would be nice, but hauling that extra luggage for a few nights was democratically downvoted.

I think you've gotta have a USB socket, the Adv Spec fairing gives you a slot for one, and a master switch, so no battery drain issues. Charging phones, drone, batteries, banks, as you go just means no power anxiety at the end of the day. Defo recommend you use a sleeping bag liner, I have the S2S Reactor, it adds warmth, but just means less need to clean your expensive down sleeping bag - which as you say is a pain in the butt! I've been mountaineering/wildcamping on foot for years, and a full career in the army, but I still love to watch these videos because you will always learn something, and when I'm in the office at 4am editing photos it's something interesting to have on in the background - so thanks a bunch Greg, another great video. Look forward to the next one - regards, Mike

First rule of traveling, never drink anything but bottled water and no ice...saves the 'sh-arts' :) Sunglasses... MSA 'Arctic Gold'(mine safety glasses from the Southern Hemisphere, great for helmets, stay on your nose even upside down, very flexible and with take a bullet...no goggles/visor down needed). Camp chair as a luxury! Oh...security, very important... as a truck driver, if someone can break a tank cap just below your head and pump 200litre of diesel, like what happened to my mate in Cambs 2 nights ago, a bike can be quietly pushed away,and you'd never know once in a deep sleep state! Ever consider Bart Factory sealed rims and going tubeless? Informative video...thanks!

Hi Greg, I took my Baltic Insulated Jacket and a few more "winter gear" to the North Cape and I don't used it at all. So one of my Enduristan Blizzard L bags was completely unused 🤨 Why, well it was up to 31°C daytime and mainly 12-21°C nighttime so there was no need. I ride with a similar setup of Merino socks and baselayer and a dedicated bag for my dry/wet camping gear. Enjoy the summer, Bernd 💙💛🏁🤛🏼

I enjoyed the video, thanks Greg. It's useful to compare what I take to what others take. Over the years I've downsized so much, but it's good to find little nuggets like separating the tent parts, which I've now been doing for a year or so, after seeing on either your or someone's video. Looking forward to seeing the Linesman Troos. It's the last bit of the puzzle for me. I'm sure they'll be worth the wait.

Someone told me it’s good to unpack everything post trip and sort things into piles of used daily, used occasionally or not used. You then sort through the used occasionally and decide if your quality of trip would be reduced by not taking it next time. The unused pile needs sorting into stuff you didn’t use because the need didn’t arise but still need to take just in case - 1st aid kits, tools, waterproofs etc and stuff you took just in case such as a massive box of condoms and baby oil for when you get stranded with a female beach volleyball team - next time you leave this behind or reduce the quantity. Your minimalist approach means you’re probably beyond this but it’s a useful process.
@adventurespec
@adventurespec 2 года назад
I've kind of done this over the years. The more you do it the better you get. I still treat every trip as a new opportunity to try different setups out though. :-)

in relation to security, I get it, the chains way half a ton. However Due to where I live, I am required to keep the bike chained up when parked up, so have to haul a big ass chain everywhere. Cause if its stolen, I get nothing if its not chained up.

Excellent video, very thorough and informative ! Since you know your way around cameras and bring a lot of gear with you I would like to ask your opinion on the matter if you don’t mind I also would like to bring my camera with me (it’s a hybrid camera : Fuji xt-20) but am worried about the harm the vibrations or the shock after a fall might do to it. I think I have read somewhere that vibrations are damaging the cameras, hence why quadlock sells a device so you don’t ruin the camera on your phone. Wouldn’t putting the camera in a bag on the bike be taking the same risks ? I ride a 701 husky so a tank bag is out of order since the key is at the front so I’m considering putting it in my backpack but fear that I might fall on it. Do you have think having a hard case would be enough for it? Is there something that I am missing ? What would you recommend ? 😊
@adventurespec

Thanks for this! We use different bags for different terrains, extreme off roading for example a small Pelican case works well, but really it's whatever works for you with some trial and error involved!

Hi I'm so interested in how your body feels after everyday's riding. It's a question about how you went? People just don't go into it. I'm riding road ATM and have a CRF 300 ready to go. I'm a bit older than you😀 but there's all theses gear reviews but not " how did you go". RU-vid seems to focus on the fluff. Particularly the van life people but not really an extreme adventure. Back, legs, arse tail bone general muscular performance. Ha thanks cheers happy riding.

Well regarding your lock, I can tell 2 events. In 2015 my friend was on a trip with his 1200gs. He got his bike stolen in a campground in Poland while his bike was parked just 2 feets from his tent. He eared nothing. He wape up the next morning and no more bikes. Recently 2 of my friends on a 3 monthas trip in europe, scandinavia had their 2 bikes stolen in the secaure parking of an hotel in Dublin. Luckaly for them they had apple air tag on their bikes and they were able to retrace them and then call the police. So I don't think carrying a lock and a cable/chain is a surplus weight. I think it may save your bike and your trip.
