The Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre- May 2020 

ALL THOSE PIP PINS! Memories of my apprenticeship at RAF Halton learning solid rivetting! The test pieces were REALLY hard to pass! Shes looking good, I cannot possibly IMAGINE how a 'tail end Charlie sat in those turrets all alone in the darkness as they flew over Cologne, Berlin etc. Flak flying up at you and searchlights.......VERY brave airmen - and WHY I signed up to serve in the RAF! Well done chaps!

Our thanks must go to you all at the centre Andrew for the work that is still being able to continue.just hope that when all this is behind us,we can make up for lost time,take care mate and stay safe.

Just looking at this aircraft makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck love the museum everyone does a great job can’t wait to get back 👍

Thanks for the update Andrew. I know you are finishing the winter maintenance work but are you doing any additional work whilst you have the opportunity ?

I didn't realise the visibilty was so poor in the tail turret :-(
