I have one on pre-order. I don't have anything else in the Helix line except the Helix Native. I have a midi-controlled pedalboard with a Tonex pedal to cover amp sounds. I have an Empress Echosystem for delays, a chorus pedal and a tuner. The HX One will replace the chorus pedal, and can do chorus or 249 other FX. It might even replace the tuner as well, if I find the HX to be good at that. I don't mix mod fx, or wah and mod fx, so this pedal is a one-space chameleon and the Helix fx sound great. This is minimalist board heaven, without minimalist sound limitations. $300 seems like a bargain for that, and I don't care how it compares to the HX Stomp. If I needed three FX blocks, I would spend the extra dough, but I don't. I've got delays (Empress) + amp (Tonex) + verb (Tonex) + any mod or exotic effect I desire (HX One) + tuner, all of which can morph instantly at the press of a midi trigger. Until there is a Helix 2 with full amp capture technology, this is floor heaven for my backup rig/jam with friends/home practice rig. I might even tour with it eventually.
Line6: “Hi. We made you a pedal with every effect from our flagship product. It’s only $299.” The Internet: “How dare you!? This is useless crap. Why are you trying to rip us off!?”
I loved the design of the M5. Really great all in one pedal when you need 1 more effect in the chain line. The only downfall is that it had a chip flaw and it dies. I've had 2 of them and sadly all died form the same thing. Really bummed. Hope this one will be more reliable on the long run
Same! I had an M5 and the pitch was my favorite I've ever played through. Damn thing pooped out on me right as I was about to go into the studio to record and I had to go with a Boss Harmonist instead. Hopefully, this one doesn't require as many updates to stay alive.
Idk why most ppl seem averse to wilder efx such as synth patches etc. it seems the generations under me are overly conservative re guitar /bass sounds, and are very "every effect in its place, dialed in as safely as possible" Must be boring.
Those people grew up in an era where few pedals were around or used simple days of popular guitars were straight into a distorted amp for the in your face simple rock sound that was on every album...acdc and what not...scary for them to venture out to the unknown I guess
I would go insane at a live show having to scrolling up and down. I think this gear might be good, but only for home use. I would get crazy with preset’s choices 😅
@@natearchuleta2003 hmm...I don't get that...Im running my ToneX Pedal with a few effect pedals into 2 studio monitors... I don't get how I could "route" it into two spots.. Currently the HX one is in the beginning of the chain..
In my oppinion Line 6 is loosing a lot of credibility with products like this. And is mutch expensive... Not for me. For not mutch more, Pod Go is mutch better. Cheers from Portugal 🤘🍺🇵🇹
