The Lingering Political Crisis in Rivers State

It has been weeks of different episodes of drama from Rivers state, this is a new week and we do not know what to expect. A burning issue is the tension over local government extension, Governor Fubara says appointing caretaker Chairmen for LGAs is in “defense of democracy” and vowed not to allow a “wrong precedent.” but there have been arguments and counter-argument over the constitutionality of tenure elongation for local government chairmen and appointment of a caretaker committee…
In all of this, Rivers state APC has called for the declaration of a state of emergency, chairman of the APC caretaker committee in the state Tony Okocha made the call when he blamed the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara for the unrest, said the state is at war, and the only way for residents to live in peace, is for the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in the state.

Why are you guys keep asking APC members in rivers state question that are painting the lawful democratically elected governor as if he's done an abomination. APC in River state has no chairman or caretaker. Stop referring to okochas as a caretaker chairman. Secondly, the ex-house members are saying that they belong to pdp that they are not registered under apc. Ask okocha to tell you his interest for the ex-house members, and if they are him party member. Okocha is a FACTIONAL chairman.
