Can a lion and a mouse be the best of friends?
Why of course, 'Little friends may prove to be great friends"
This sweet traditional story has been retold by Miles Kelly Storytime. The little mouse is a rather curious with a wonderful big heart. The lion would roam the grasslands and he had a great roar.
So much so that all the animals feared him. One day the little mouse dared to enter the cave where the lion slept and...THUD, he was trapped under the lions large paw. The lion let little mouse go as mouse promised to return the favour. Sure enough, that day came, lion was trapped in a net, exhausted from struggling to get free. Mouse was able to gnaw through the ropes and free the lion and a wonderful friendship was mad.
The Miles Kelly Storytime does such a fantastic retelling of tradition tales to encourage reading and this story does not disappoint. In a whimsical and simplistic way this story is fun, engaging and exciting and the characters are just adorable, lion is not a fearsome lion, he is a loveable lion. Miles Kelly Publishing Ltd, has the ethos to create 'Children's books to inspire and share' , and they are are such a joy to read aloud. I have a fair few of their books and I just love them. If you want bright, beautiful, attractive illustrations then you will find them in this story. Mouse is just the dearest and sweetest character and you can see his curiosity in his dazzling eyes. There is texture and a softness in the drawings that make them delightful and quite enchanting.
If you haven't discovered Miles Kelly Storytime books yet, then do seek them out, they are a joy to read.
