Picture this: Indy, Joakim and Tommy sitting in the beginning of the video, but for some reason, Joakim is knocked out while Indy and Tommy introduces themselves. Joakim wakes up and wonder why he’s chained to the chair. And the reason is because Joakim refuses to do a episode on Swedish Pagans so the crew were forced to drug him. And why is Tommy there? Well, it’s because he want to talk about the greatness that is Swedish Pagans and he want Joakim to listen to him so he can convert him into loving the song. That would be a great setup for a Swedish Pagans episode

One of my favorite books is a historical fiction story that takes place in this time period. "The Lion of the North, a tale of the times of Gustavus Adophus," by G. A. Henty. The main character is a young Scott that joins the Green Brigade of Gustavus in the 30 Years War. Henty wrote many Historical fiction books in the late 19th century for the boys of England. I love to read or listen to them. If you want a book that gives you the history of the war and give you a good story at the same time, then I would recommend that you read it.

I think one of the issues with the language barriers here in the United States is unlike Europe we are not directly exposed to so many different languages being we are clear on the other side of the world bordered by countries that speak primarily English and Spanish. Where as in Europe you have a ton of different countries and languages packed together so tightly making the need or want to learn a second or third language a bigger deal. I personally, being someone who lives in America, love to hear songs in other languages. I listen to for example Rammstein and love their music and songs even if it is in German. Just makes me look up the lyrics so I can start to understand the songs and even learn some basic German in the process

I think that the Lion made his soldiers believe they could do anything in the battlefield. He was a great Leader. Congrats Sabaton! Congrats Indy!

One of my favorite anecdotes about him was an Italian mercenary working in his army. He was paid to kill him. This man having no allegiance to Gustavus and on multiple occasions leveling his pistol at the king said he could not bring himself to kill such a man. Such was Gustavus' charisma and self-confidence. Thomas Roe said of him "I hope more of the King of Sweeden's own person than of all his country ... he is all and worth all" He also said, "He thinks the ship cannot sink that carries him". Such a level of self-confidence is infectious. It is no wonder his death at the Battle of Lutzen hit the Swedish military so hard.

Thank you Saber on, this song helped me decide on the topic for my Bachelor's senior paper. I was inspired by this song to write on the Swedish Intervention during the Thirty Years War.

I know I'm probably in a small majority here, but if Sabaton did a US tour singing only in Swedish I would love it. Do I understand Swedish? Heck no, but you bet your ass I'd still be excited for it. Hell, like 60% of the bands I listen to sing in a language I don't understand and I still love it.

Whenever I've seen them play here in Canada they ask whether the audience wants to hear tracks from Carolus Rex in Swedish or English. The audience always overwhelmingly chooses Swedish... probably because we're too polite and figure a Swedish band would be happier singing in Swedish. "we're easy with it, Joakim, do whatever language you prefer, good sir"

my day had been pretty "meh" until I saw this, then it got better. Wow, this was very interesting. I never knew Gustavus Adolphus dressed up as a literal Goth at his coronation! (And kudos for actually mentioning that modern Goths are extremely different from historical Goths.) He seems very inspirational (just like Carolus Rex actually.) That being said: RIP King Gustavus Adolphus :( Also, Indy, the coat looks awesome. And the other outfit. And hi Chris! Peace out!
