Easily the best version of the song. Just beautiful, that’s the only word there is to describe it. Especially that instrumental in the middle… So much atmosphere, emotion, and wonder to it.
3:52 gets me every time. And couple that with the knowledge of Jason's tragic end (despite the fact that I never got to actually see him live or even knew him at all), makes it even more emotional to listen to!
when i learned what happened to him i literally cried despite the fact that i wasn’t even alive when he d¡3d. the lion king was both the first movie i ever watched and the first stage show i ever saw so it holds a special place in my heart. finding out what happened to one of the most influential actors in my life was heartbreaking. i hope to meet him in heaven someday and tell him how much he meant to me😭😭😭
i know!!! i want to learn to play the flute and the violin just so that i can play this song and the finale lol😅 p.s. i don’t mean to be judgy, but this song is Can You Feel the Love Tonight?, not Circle of Life😊
I liked this version better than the one in the movie. The ending lines with Simba and Nala were so much more heartfelt than in the movie with Timon and Pumbaa singing the last lines, which was weird.
The way I see it, Timon and Pumbaa singing the last lines in Lion King and Lion King 1 1/2 was actually perfect because at the end of the day, they were kids movies. The crying was hilarious! However, when I saw the broadway touring company and heard the new lyrics I think that worked perfectly for a more adult version of the beloved story.
I hear Zini and Denahi’s voice in the background, because, Max Casella and Jason Raize got involved in Disney films. Casella was in Dinosaur and The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea, while Raize was in Brother Bear. By the way, this is the only film Raize appeared in before he died in 2004. Also, Samuel E. Wright, who played the role of Mufasa in the Broadway musical, was in Dinosaur and The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea, which Casella was in both of these films. Also, Heather Headley, who portrayed Nala in the musical, also did a cover of Love Will Find a Way in the movie The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride. That’s the thing where musical actors and actresses got involved in films lately.
In our recent production of TLK, everyone was apart of this song. Yes. Scar, Rafiki, the Hyena Trio, AND MUFASA were included. My friend(first time ever auditioning) was Mufasa. Seeing as I was Sarabi, his wife, we danced together. Now as an inside joke, we randomly start singing this and the other is so annoyed by it. (Sighs) Good times.
Anna Maria It was! It made my dream come true! I love TLK sooo much, so to actually sing the songs from the show/movie and to work with them was amazing.
i love this version of the song, much better than the movie. its more beautiful and personal for Simba and Nala, from friends of childhood, from being seperated for years not knowing that the person you have grown to love over the long and painful years is still alive, to be reunited as young adults and fell in love from the instant they reunited. my boyfriend told me that he thinks that their daughter Kiara was concieved in that jungle.
You're not too far off with that last bit. One of the later TV series for the franchise, "The Lion Guard" implied that heavily with this line by one of the newer characters. Kion: We already had the talk! "Can you feel the love tonight," remember?
I could go into a really long comment about how much i love this song, but its so much more fun to listen to it and sing along so loudly that my neighbors get mad at me...
I can see what's happening What? And they don't have a clue Who? They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line Our trio's down to two. Oh. The sweet caress of twilight There's magic everywhere And with all this romantic atmosphere Disaster's in the air Can you feel the love tonight The peace the evening brings The world for once in perfect harmony With all its living things So many things to tell her But how to make her see The truth about my past, impossible She'd turn away from me He's holding back, he's hiding But what, I can't decide Why won't he be the king I know he is? The king I see inside? Can you feel the love tonight? The peace the evening brings The world, for once, in perfect harmony With all its living things Can you feel the love tonight? You needn't look too far Stealing through the night's uncertainties Love is where they are And if he feels the love tonight In the way I do It's enough for this restless wanderer Just to be with you
My class at dance is using this song, along with another class, and I have absolutely loved learning the choreography and listening to the song at the same time. Our theme for the recital this year is Lion King and my class is doing both this song and a grassland chant song which I have yet to find the audio for.
Senior year I needed a date for prom. This is like, February. I go on a school trip to see Lion King on broadway. I say to my friend that I was just gunna ask whatever girl sat next to me. So I sat down, and the girl that sat next to me, me and her were actually Simba and Nala in a production of Lion King a few months prior. So I waited until Can You Feel the Love Tonight, and asked her to prom. She said yes. And everyone told me that it was fate and stuff.
Lion King should crossover with: 1# Dumbo 2# Peter Pan 3# Jungle Book 4# Robin Hood 5# Hunchback 6# Hercules 7# Tarzan 8# Frozen 9# Bug's Life 10# Madagascar 11# Zambezia 12# Khumba 13# Animals United 14# Wild

Like when you see Fela Dominguez (Nala in Mexico) Daniela Pobega (Nala in Spain) and Chantel riley (Nala in the US) and say they are sisters, as they seem.
Who else is listening to this when they should be sleeping, while laying in their bed at night single af wishing they weren’t single af. Because I sure as hell am.
