I like the Mattel face mold better... She just looks more like a fantasy princess to me. I love the big eyes and the round face. It feels more like Halle to me whereas this one loooks sort of uncanny. Also the fins at the end of the tail leave a lot to be desired.
I'm so sad that Disney Store discontinued their live action 12 inch dolls, I'd really want a Prince Eric doll and an Ursula doll too! But I'm glad that there's one for Ariel!
They should definitely do a Film Legacy collection where they release updated/new dolls of the previous princesses (Aurora, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan, Cinderella) to match with the new Ariel. I missed out on Belle when if first released and even though it wasn’t the best head sculpt, she is my favorite princess ever! I would also LOVE a Jasmine one since I am a fan of Naomi Scott 😂 Disney should definitely do a redo on the live action princess dolls in the near future!

@@nathanerickson8708 I'm not sure why Disney Store didn't make a doll for Eric though (regular or Limited Edition)? Ariel and Eric are one of the most iconic Disney couples
You only get Eric with Ariel as a set. But the problem is its a Target exclusive and its only available in the states and not worldwide(unless you have Ebay). I'm trying to get these dolls on that site so hopefully fingers crossed I can get them soon.
I personally don’t like this at all. The face sculpt is terrible, makes her look like a wicked hag; when in reality she’s really pretty. Mattel did a much better job with the face sculpt. And as for the tail, its like the first fabric generic barbie tail(or cheap any other company at that,) that its just horrible for a doll representation of this movie.
Now that's what I'm talking about!! 🩵🩷. Yep, the eye on the left is a bit wonky, but I love the fabric bra and tail. If they had added a few more layers to the tail fins (and fixed the eye), she would be perfect! 🧜♀️. I agree with you, I like the colour of hair better on this one.
I think her face is so much nicer than I thought it would be. And I prefer the locks coming out of the hair actually. Looks nicer to mee than them just sitting on top lol. But she's a very pretty doll. Just need to go back as mine come with 2 right boots... and it's bugging me 😂
She's so much better than the mattel dolls, I'm actually tempted to get her. This doll is much more detailed, with a fabric tail and bra, and also articulation. The face sculpt is a little off but almost all of the live action faces do look weird, and atleast she doesn't look as awful as Belle Bieber. I think people just don't like her because her face looks realistic which is rare and odd to see in a play doll. Overall I really like the doll, much better than the mattel one

hello hello! So excited to have picked mine up at the Disney store after watching your vid! Really solidified my choice. Any tips on washing/styling her hair? She's my first doll on display in quite a while and her hair is massive, which is lovely, but I'd like it to be a little closer to her body lol.
I feel the same I want to add shells to her hair to and a bit of sheer iridescent fabric to her fins and want to let her locks go why make them strings?

No winky eyes I’ve seen tutorials on how to remove body heads and parts and stuff and repaint eyes. I’m just too scared to do it and I’m an artist not professionally but still.
I think the official Disney doll is so ugly. It doesn’t even look like Halle. The Mattel one is perfect and I’ll be spending the way less price of 15 bucks for that one hehe
I don't think it'll be an "epic fail" tbh, yes it's "woke" and makes unnecessary changes, plus causes big controversies but I've seen a lot of hype for the movie even though it's problematic. Especially the merch, it's doing very very well since a lot of items are selling and sold out. Honestly Disney just wants attention and that's exactly what they'll get, because of the controversy and woke problem, people are going to be intrigued to watch the movie whether it's to enjoy or critique which will give it a good box office.

People are so open minded and accepting. Meanwhile, racists like you are so triggered by this, you let it become such a huge problem because you are so sensitive and scared of POC being on big screens/films.
